I wish you would have used the same road that you used in V. speedway for downtown club racing. I know it would have been more difficult because of the texture But it would have been awesome.

It looks like DRIVEN in steering way. If we compare it by gameplay (graphic not interested) what are the most differences? How many cars, variety of tracks, variety of cars for different grounds. I need more details. I have a plan to by it or the DRIVEN. I tried the Grid and it is more adopted for PC VR (do not feel immersion)
I have not played Driven nor Grid. Right now in DTC it's just 3 cars and 1 environment (city-themed). The game is in Early Access, so more content will be added for free (see the Commuter Games website for the roadmap and the blog)
I will say this again. Graphicaly this looks better than Greed Legends ever did on Quest 3 and this is a indie game likely made by a very small team. Moreover it runs at 72 real fps on Quest 2 as opposed the 45 with asw in GL. EA / META should be ashamed of themselves. Optimization is king.
@@andersontomas55 To be fair, Grid Legends is just a port of an existing PC/console game. I bet those devs’ hands were tied with how much they could do. This does show how important it is to build from the ground up for Standalone VR!
Yeah i get the feeling that someone in the upper manegment didnt want that port to happen. And if you cant make a proper job you should not do it at all. People see this half assed GL port and think it is the best Quest can do. Bad advertising for the platform.
Not a bad game I bought it but doesn't seem to be any real race cars just a bunch of no name small cars that I really don't look forward to driving. On another note it is quite challenging. Very very tiring using motion controls your shoulders get tired really fast but you can use the controller joystick as well
Indeed. This is like the very beginning of Gran Turismo. Boring city cars (with tuned versions but still). Looking forward to updates

Wrong wrong wrong, you use the handbrake to drift around corners in this game and to stop the drift turn the wheel fast the opposite way

@@eurodmyt In the beginning yes, I won’t sugar coat it. You need skill to drift it mostly cause it’s based off of speed over timing equal to x divide by acceleration in mathematics terms as it was coded. But with enough practicing you might be the only TH-camr who can drift around this game especially with how big I feel it would become after a while with the new coming maps.
@@eurodmyt I’m a game dev myself and might even consider making a high resolution map for this game that will run good on the given hardware but only if there is enough want for it. And I will include a drift tutorial in the map too so you could practice.
What is your favorite map?
Probably Classic after all. I've been driving that layout for 4 years already!
I bought this game today. The graphics are amazing for the Quest 3. I wander what Codemasters think of this game and how it looks versus Grid Legends.
Nice! I haven’t played Grid Legends when that came out, but one difference between these titles I know for sure is the use of AppSW. Grid runs at half framerate and generates the rest to feel smoother but with some artifacts as a tradeoff
@@eurodmyt I do prefer Grid Legends steering mechanics to this one though.

In the first location (Downtown) there are 8 layouts (+reverse directions of them)

Yup. You can get DTC on Quest for free for setting a WR in V-Speedway !! Updated terms: 1. The goal is to SET ANY NEW WORLD RECORD on Meta Quest. First to upload their time to the leaderboard and verify their identity on Discord gets the prize. 2. The winner has to be one real person on a Meta account. 3. They have to join the Commuter Games Discord server. 4. They cannot already own DTC. 5. The challenge will be closed on January 1st 2025.

Can you place your hand anywhere on the wheel? Or is it set to the "correct" way of holding a steeringwheel?
Any way you want. 10 and 2, 9 and 3, 11 and 1, or one hand gripping from the inside at 7. A very flexible system!

Would love online racing on this! I just hope this one also comes out on PCVR
Multiplayer will be available with an update some time after launch, during the Early Access phase. There are no plans to port this game to PCVR

Is there ai traffic like the race ai in v speedway but for free ride or no?
No, AI is just for races. Though you will be able to jump into Free Ride with other players online

Well, it's free ride! There's no time limit or opponents (in Singleplayer), and you can drive anywhere on the map. But it isn't as huge as the open world in something like Forza Horizon 5

Finally a working vr car game where you can actually use motion controllers to interact with the wheel, mirrors, and gear!
Note: the mirrors aren't interactive, they adjust automatically. I did a bit of acting for show :)

The game itself runs at 72fps and looks four times better in person. I recorded this clip to show the sunset time of day in free ride, the Leroux Griffe3 (which doesn't get enough love in WIP clips), and handbrake behaviour. You can find out even more about the project by keeping up with the Commuter Games Discord server (the link is in the description)
