That's a very odd problem. I would guess that you did not configure an SSL certificate with the FTP service. However, it should not respond with "Unknown command". Maybe your local firewall / router / proxy server blocked FTP over TLS Explicit. You can try FTPS (at Port 990), or SFTP at Port 22. Not sure if I understand your question correctly. Do you want to add an Android device's camera to your laptop as a webcam? If so, this app cannot do that. The Microsoft's built-in IIS WebDAV service is considered user-friendly as it can be configured and managed with GUI. You can try Apache-based WebDAV server, it is popular on Linux. The FTP service is bundled in Microsoft's Internet Information Service (IIS), hence it requires Microsoft IIS Management console, which is an optional free component of Windows operating system. This video is about "how to use your webcam as an IP security camera". Your need is a little unusual. Sorry I don't have an answer for you. CameraFTP VSS software supports regular IP cameras as long as they support RTSP. So you can add the IP camera to VSS, which can display the camera video on your PC screen. Lots to learn, but the general concepts sound really good to me, a senior who has dabbled in linux, but there's quite a bit to wrap your mind around, although it's not rocket science. Google/Android's implementation of linux and M$'s interface both could be a lot better. I think DriveHQ would help to iron out the kinks.

Not sure about your question. CameraFTP VSS can record footage to the cloud storage, so it cannot be deleted by an intruder. VSS also supports local recording. In this case, the footage can be deleted/destroyed by an intruder. With CameraFTP VSS, you don't need to manually delete footage files. Regular file servers are usually LAN-only, you need to access it in the same office location. (even if you use Windows Server OS as file server). You can test it in two steps: (1) Check if you can connect to the FTP server from the same computer. If not, then you need to locate and solve the problem. (2) Check if the other computer can connect to an FTP server. Try using FTP client program like FileZilla. In most cases, the problem is caused by anti-virus / security software, either on the server side or the client side. If possible, try to uninstall such software and only use Windows Defender. Most Reolink IP cameras and DVRs are also compatible with CameraFTP VSS software. The exception is Reolink Solar / Battery powered IP cameras. These cameras are usually in standby mode. You can change the web server/website's default folder using IIS Admin tool (Internet Information Service Manager). You can also map different/multiple cloud drives. I was able to temporarily fix the issue by changing the ftp from passive to active.

Active Mode requires the FTP server to connect to the FTP client, which is often blocked by the firewall in the FTP client side. If the FTP client is outside of your local network, it is recommended using Passive Mode. To use the passive mode FTP, the FTP server should specify a range of ports for the Passive FTP connection, such as Ports 5000-6000. (See the video at 3'37"). Then you need to add a firewall rule to allow connection to the ports 5000-6000. You can add a regular firewall rule if you don't see the FTP rule. Yes! DriveHQ has the most advanced cloud file locking technologies. It supports .dwg (AutoCAD) file types, Microsoft Office file types and Adobe file types. If your server is accessible on the Internet, then it works in every network. Otherwise, it only works within your LAN. In most cases, you need some kind of hosting service to host your Windows server or VM.
