Hezbollah's pager phenomenon!
PTS Brief on Hezbollah pager detonations with host Joy Votrobek and ASCF Sr. Analyst Laurence Sanford. Hezbollah's pager detonations bring more questions than answers. Who purchased this batch of pagers and communication devices, and from what company or companies? It was a sophisticated and well-organized attack. Israel has not claimed responsibility, but it is very likely having a psychological impact on Hezbollah. Fear and paranoia within the ranks of Hezbollah will likely affect morale and decision-making. Will Israel see this as a time to use military force on Hezbollah in Lebanon?

What threat are we needing to arm against? We're acting like we're still in the cold war, but that ended decades ago! Russia seemed to be a threat, but now they can't even succeed against Ukraine, meanwhile the only other possible threat, China, would need to somehow overcome our navy to do anything, using their... 2 small carriers? Against our 11 supercarriers? And this isn't even factoring in NATO's forces. I agree that our allies in NATO should probably contribute a bit more towards our collective defense, but that should mean a serious reduction in military spending in the US. Calling on our allies to contribute more in the collective defense, while also calling for us to raise our own military spending, is the stupidest policy proposal I've ever heard. Military spending is taxpayer money that could be much more efficiently invested back into the economy through things like education.

I know! I’m really sad that I didn’t learn about the history of the pink triangle and its usage by queer activists during the AIDS crisis in the 80s. I got to go to San Francisco to see the pink triangle memorial, and I still have the quartz pieces. Queer people have always been here, it just hasn’t always been convenient to the people writing the history books.
