Have your girls tried that? We were gifted a paper game version (with a sand timer, which both my kids love, haha), and it has some junior / very easy puzzles which have been great to get her started.

I used to shop at Goodwill until a couple of years ago when I discovered the Big Cheeses at GW make somewhere between $500 thousand and 1 million dollars per year (depending on what internet search you do). I also found out that employees with disabilities are often paid less than minimum wage (as low as 22 cents per hour), whistleblowers have been fired, and safety issues have led to tragedy. Now my fave thrift store is The Humane Society Thrift Store, the fave of all our town which voted it the Best Thrift Store - even against GW! We also have thrift stores for hospice, Teen Challenge, and other local charities. I try to be even more ETHICAL about where my little money goes.

Fruit, same!!! Mum always put a 50c piece at the very bottom and then an orange above that. And I'm sure there were lots of fun things on top, but that's all I can remember. Also, she would cut up a pair of women's stockings and my sister and I would get one stocking leg each with our gifts stuffed inside, haha.

For smart casual you can't go past mens oversized cotton shirts..particularly striped ones..any color!!

Some great ideas. Our kids love what we call Tomato Mac & Cheese. It's like the usual m&c but with heaps of veg blitzed in (thanks to my Thermomix!) And do you know, sausages always get a cheer as well, haha. Never mind that fancy homemade pie or whatever, just give them a sausage and it's the best day ever.

We have been screen free during the week for the last 6 months and only have it on weekends as family movie time etc. It has helped so much even doing that step. How long did you find it difficult for the little ones to get over the "addiction", did it take a couple of weeks?

Yes! It makes such a difference to not watch TV. We have followed the recommendations as much as possible for our daughters, and they are thriving (3&5 yrs). Also, how has it already been six months in your new home?!
