So im writing a fallout based dnd game here and using the robots as a plot device and I may use some of these lore bits for them too. I have not read the comics or really anything aside from the music and a few of the videos. But this changes how I see some of the carictors.

Also the fact Max was only 18. That's really really young! Was he a jerk? Absolutely. Is he accountable for his actions? Yes. But he was still one year out of teenagerhood and had become a deeply messed up human being. His dad abused him, he had no real friends because the ones he was with were controlled by fear, he was probably never taught to be responsible for his actions as his athletic prowess helped whatever he did slide so the high school could keep their star player (even to the point of probably neglecting his education so he could stay on the team, leaving him with no other skills to fall back on). Even though he is worshiped and feared, I blame the adults who failed this boy and let him grow into the monster he was leading others to point fingers at him for being bad, end of story, nothing deeper. But he DID have depth, he showed a vulnerable side of himself after the nerds revealed it was them scaring him. But that moment is cut short, the theatre pulls his strings and makes him die before we can get a closer look. So when he comes back and has control over other characters, objects, he can teleport and has become supernaturally strong, that's him fighting back, taking control of his life finally only to be punished for it. And the way he went about reasserting control for himself was definitely not okay, but what else would you expect of someone who was abused and neglected while also being shielded from consequences of his own actions? He was raised to be a gruff, dumb jock for the adults around him with no other expectations or options. He has so little control he felt the need to strike fear into the hearts of his friends so they wouldn't leave him. That's a sign of a deeply lonely character who has resorted to the only coping mechanisms at hand. And even through his period of having control, he was then according to this video, controlled by another entity. He never had agency in his own narrative. I'd be angry too.

2:03 it’s also not blue matter because the only example of a blue matter accident making the Walter workers different than typical Walter workers is matter mistress bunny (I’m unsure if she’s still canon but she did exist at one point) and she’s got black lips and black hair!

I know, she need to feel good in herself and freedom. But...I actually missing the earlier Rabbit a bit.

Personally I viewed the framing of Richie trying to run off stage was him escaping through the halls of hatchetfield. another thing is the line "until another richie comes along," max felt replaced, richie being named the heart and soul of the nighthawks, having his friends. all his rage from his rules and hierarchy being upturned, richie was the final straw. not another bully.

One of my fanbots was created by Vivian before she left Becile Industries. He is a ferro fluid coated octopus themed bot designed to perform at the aquarium (like how spg did at the zoo) but the bot got fired for looking too creepy and ‘giving kids nightmares’ despite the bot, Inky, being an absolute sweetie

Pokotho hates all voices that aren't his own and wants to snuff them out, Max was a totalitarian in life wanting the story of the school to only be told and created by him, and as a ghost he wasn't planning to just kill the nerdy prudes, because he'd already decided everyone was one if he said so, he wanted everything that wasn't him gone just the same as Pokey does

I just wanted to throw in my own personal head cannons. The reason the ghosts of the Waylons aren't causing havoc is because of Ms. Holloway. She is probably powerful enough to handle their ghosts without giving anything to the Lords in Black because she already made a deal with them for her powers. There's even a moment from the Nightmare Time story Killer Track when Duke asks Holloway what she'll do if they're dealing with a ghost and she says "If it's a ghost, I'll trap it in this jar." So I get the feeling she's dealt with ghosts before. Plus dealing with evil spirits fits with in her MO. I also think the only reason that she isn't here in this show is that NPMD is in a time line where Holloway lost to Uncle Wiley aka Wilbur Cross. The reason I think this is because Solomon has the Black Book instead of her. In the Ms. Halloween script readings it's implied that the Lords gave Holloway the book so she knows it's powerful and dangerous so I don't think Holloway would ever let that book fall into anyone else's hands. So if the Black Book is in anyone's hands other than Holloway's it's probably because she's dead.

IM ASO AUTISTIC ABOUT MAX JÄGERMAN jumping up and down like an insane person. Also autistic and nonbinary [ agender ] I love seeing other queers into the same stuff! I rarely get fixated on things and while it is going to turn into a passive interest soon enough but I really adore npmd! Will Branner did such a good job and I loved all his subtle facial expressions and movements especially in Dirty Girl. The glimpses we get of him being what I consider his genuine self are EVERYTHING to me. I’m really not someone who looks that deep into things but I loved hearing your exploration of Max as character. He is absolutely not a good person and maybe he did murder four people BUT he’s so silly to me he’s just a little guy who’s never done anything wrong in his life <3

AHHH!! This is such a good analysis video! I always love people analyzing about my favorite things. especially since I do it a lot too. One other point that I found think while I was watching your video, was that pokotho and max do have a lot in common. Especially with them both wanting absolute control over everything. In nightmare time, the yellowjackets episode I think, we hear a line about his desire to rule everything. And in tgwdlm we see that with the hive mind and him essentially taking over the world. We also see the same kind of desire with max, he wants and has absolute control over hatchet field high. Even when he becomes a ghost, his goal is to control everything, by killing the nerds. And I'm not sure who says it but one line in npmd confirms this, it says after he kills all the nerds in hatchetfield, he'll then go to sycamore and then who knows where. So it's just really cool to see the connection with them, I noticed that too with the blue coloring. Sorry for rambling lol but this was a great video!

Also, I’m TGWDLM it’s something you wouldn’t notice if you didn’t watch it so many times. The title read, ‘the guy who didn’t like musicals’, DIDNT, not DOESNT, in the present. he didn’t like musicals, in the past. Also telling the viewers from the very beginning that by the end he will like musicals, or forced to.

personally i think that the line "or until another richie comes along" refers to both max and richie the same way as in max thinks richie replaced him and is hoping that richie will get replaced
