Hello! My name is James and I'm an amateur fire buff and fire photographer in the central North Carolina area. I live and now work full time in Harnett County, but still work in Wake County sometimes. I primarily monitor Harnett County unless I'm in Wake County, where I listen to the Cary area (Cary, Apex, and Morrisville NC).
For radio listening, I use a Uniden SDS100 handheld scanner to monitor primarily Dispatch as well as whatever active Tac channel I want to tune into for scenes. I also use the PulsePoint app for Structure Fire alerts to my phone, and for navigation to those scenes. And for radio archive lookup, I use Broadcastify on web to go back and grab any radio transmissions that I want to throw into a video that I did not get on recording or video. I provide Harnett County calls to Broadcastify as well.

Structure Fire - 2nd Alarm | 6-16-2024 | Cary, NC
Second alarm residential structure fire at 102 Turk House Lane in Cary, NC. Reported structure fire dispatched at 12:55pm, with Cary Engine 5 first arriving and initially not finding evidence of fire. Upon further investigation, smoke was found inside, and also began to show from the roof.
Engine 5 with fire attack gave the order to charge the line, and flames were then seen from the roof as they made their way in. They were able to knock down the fire quickly, but it remained active in the attic.
2nd alarm was transmitted for additional personnel at 1:15pm, arriving soon after with many other crews moving up for coverage.
After making access to the attic, the fire was finally fully knocked down, and with the help of vertical ventilation the smoke quickly dissipated. The fire was marked under control at 1:40pm and 2nd alarm crews began to start clearing the scene.
Homeowner was able to get out unharmed, however 1 firefighter was looked at and transported to the hospital by EMS likely due to heat related injury.

The apparatus is classified as a Tower/Platform, yes. However, the company is called Ladder 5. Wake County does not use the "Tower" designation, Tower just refers to the apparatus itself.

One of those mobile homes didn't look uninhabited! I rather curious in light of the fact none of these buildings were preported to be inhabited was a cause determined? If no one was living there arson would definitely be a cause to consider.
There was no media coverage as far as I have seen, so I do not have any further information than I was able to gather by radio traffic or those on scene. I believe there was a responsible party on scene, but it was believed that all of the involved structures were uninhabited. As far as cause, I have no idea. The fire started in/around one of the structures, and then quickly spread to the surrounding area and other structures. I haven't seen anything regarding what started the fire or where exactly it started.

Nice catch. Do they have a utility that they send to medicals as well or just the engine?
They do have a Utility, 985. However, it is not used as an emergency responder vehicle. It's typically just for additional personnel or equipment to a scene. For medicals needing assistance from fire, Angier will just pull the first out truck, which is Engine 922. It is staffed by a paid crew weekdays during the day and would be available to respond quickly like in this video.

Yes, because Swift Creek's station is a few blocks down the road. Cary was responding from further out. It's Cary's jurisdiction but Swift Creek gets added in this area because they are closer.

Glad that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, yeah the fire that was blowing through the roof was not good. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

I'm going to reply in English to avoid translation errors. I spread out my videos so I have something to post every week. I do not get videos every week, so I cannot just post all the time as I'll run out. I prefer posting constantly to keep the channel active, rather than just posting everything when I edit it and then not posting until I get more. I don't get videos often because of my work, this is not likely to change any time soon.

I have got Durham units in Wake County before, but I do not go into Durham. I live in Harnett County and work in Wake County, the content I get is pretty much entirely either me responding from home or catching while I'm working. Durham is just too far out of the way for me. Maybe one day I may get something, we'll see.
