Wow! Thank you for the video! I wondered what the names meant, planned to search for info in some wiki, but I didn't. Glad YT recommended this to me! Honestly, I understood those names were some kind of terminology, though I had no idea it was connected to music. I thought it was culinary terminology lmao. Because the dlc name "side order" sounds like a culinary pun, and in my country the localization team made the name even more culinary (though I have no clue how they adopted the jelletons' names, I play the eng version) But it makes so much sense being the musical terms, like, music is one of the key aspects of the franchise! And music can be looked at very orderly and mathematical

Alt name for Spectrum Obligato: Harmonic Staccato. im thinking of violin when I say this but staccato is a distinct separation of notes and you already know what harmony means. There for Harmonic staccato is many separate pieces (representing people or groups) playing at the same time with different melodies (goals, dreams) to create something as one.

This was such a fun watch! Great video!! Also what I realized since I now know that "Marciale" is supposed to mean a military style I feel like that explains so much why its boss fight music has such a PROMINANT drumline throughout. The drums was the first thing I noticed listening to it for the first time. Even in the transitions between phases most of the harmonies drop so you hear the drumline clearer and it's at its most intense during Phase 3 with a constant pace, and that totally fits with the idea of it being militaristic! I'm not the most musically-literate but I love seeing how much depth Splatoon goes to convey meaning for these silly little squids! ❤️

Music exist somewhere on a fine between the monotonous order of a single sine wave sound and the unpredictable chaos of random noise. The desire to reduce everything to perfect order is just as harmful as the wish to crash everything into total chaos. Only when both elements work together, are mixed in the right proportions, you get something truly beautiful and enrichting, like a song, or the tranquil image of a mountain landscape in sunrise.

I may be late, but I wanted to say that this is a really well made video. Impressive if it is your first one!

I find it quite odd when you consider this DLC is all about Order which opposes chaos and yet one of the bosses is entirely about being out of order and chaotic. Maybe the idea was more of a “chaos is alright if it leads to total order” rather than a “order to ensure total order”.

25:13 Btw that controller on her head also represent the Virtual Boy, a failed VR Nintendo console from the 90's. On its sides of the mask/hat is the VB's controller. Which now that I think about may be a nod to the fact that the Memverse is also a virtual reality that Marina made, especially since you have this fight before you learn that fact.
