Candy-like locos :)) Lovely video deserving more likes.
Nice video
Even at 102, She still has class
Great vid! When do you estimate runnings to Humberston will recommence
Did the railway used to run much further? If it did why doesn’t it anymore?
Yes it did, our level crossings need upgrading before we can head back to our Humberston station.
@@CleethorpesCoastLightRailway Are there any plans for an appeal for any funds needed to do so?
Love that carriage 😊 ! Viaduct looks impressive too . Great work behind the scenes lads !
Glad you enjoyed it!
will she ever head back to the ratty or will she stay with you guys also when I saw the name of the loco I was thinking she was from australia or something
she's on loan to us at this moment in time so who knows. and talking about Australian locomotives, have you seen our video on our No.6 "Da1"? she comes from Tasmania
Last one was my favorite
Da1 looks nice
Flower of the forest for me every day of the week❤😊
Bonnie Dundee as favourite steam engine. Rachel as favourite diesel as I drive a similar locomotive at our own miniature railway.
Rachell
i just seen the history video on bonnie
We hope you enjoyed the video!
Wait so No.5 was sold from Longleat?
@@hugothomas1199 yes, she was on loan originally, she arrived in 2019 and then we purchased her in 2021
@@CleethorpesCoastLightRailway ohhh thanks for clearing that up
Bonnie Dundee
For me it's Bonnie Dundee but Da1 is another one of my favourites 👍
Rachel !! This is probably because I visit at the end of the season !! 😅
Da1 personally
I always feel uneasy about the readiness to mutilate narrow-gauge engines, completely disregarding their history.
When will the extention be revitalized?
Having seen her working at the R & E Rly long ago in the past. It was nice to hear her history. Plus she looks nicer as a tender engine. A visit to Cleethorpes to she her I think is a must.
Oh, we have one of those and it's English too. Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, 15in guage. Colloquially known as, Laa'l Ratty. In the heart of the English Lake District. Originally used for hauling slate. What's your Snooker table made of? Keswick slate?
It was granite, wasn't it?
They moved granite from beckfoot quarry, and la'al ratty was mentioned in our Loco Histories video about Bonnie Dundee.
Built originally at Fairbourne right?
Yes, she was originally built at fairbourne and had a few rebuilds during her life
Very interesting video, completely spoilt by the very loud music which drowns out the narrative. Totally unnecessary.
Thank you for the comment, it was our first history video so we couldnt get it right first time. we have improved on our other history videos.
What sort of valve gear did you say she had after the removal of Stephenson Link?
Southern valve gear
Hadn't realised she'd left the R&ER - glad she's got a more appropriate home where she can be made better use of, and is back in steam!
I've seen Bonnie Dundee and the ones by the she'd it's so amazing!
Really enjoyable. Pretty much the entire clip was news to me, so many thanks. 👍
There's so much history to these locos , you've done a great job finding it all out Dylan . Thank you for such an informative film . 😉
Have travelled behind Rachel in the old 15” gauge days on the Fairbourne Railway in the late 1970’s … her and Sylvia were the Fairbournes two passenger diesel locos back in those days. While Rachel plus most of the original rolling stock left the line when it was regauged, Sylvia went on to be rebuilt as Lilian Walter
I think a small plack should be put on the engine about the man who saved her
What a charming story! Excellent video. I usually find music added to railway videos distracting, but this soft piano was the perfect choice and actually enhanced the narration. Her story reminds me of the faithful old wood axe: "It has had two new handles, and three new blades, but it is the longest enduring axe I ever bought!" : )
I saw this train last week when I visited cclr. An amazing locomotive. Love the story. :-)
It sure is!
brilliant, thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Such a gorgeous little loco! 🥺It’s definitely on my bucket list to come see her. One day!
amazing story :')
Hopefully all the money raised from people coming should get the level crossing paid for and get the full line running again
How does this channel get better and better honestly its wonderful!
Very stirring film ! You're a very dedicated lot and I'll look forward to going back to Cleethorpes soon 😉 !
Nice trailer
Is no5 diesel
Yes, she is a modified Severn Lamb Rio Grande Steam Outline Diesel.
Well that’s one way to deliver a barrel of beer 😊
Really cool! Nice to CLR have now got a youtube channel nice to keep up to date with the place as i live in Derby come probably 4 times a year so really nice to be updated haha!
He was guarding the service i was on today (22/06/2024 Really good person thanks for the Kind service good sir!
Beer travels well by train ! 🚂🍺 Great dramatic film . Who thinks them up !? Made me smile ! 😁
I would love to see Bonnie Dundee visit RH&DR like it did in 1998.
That would be wonderful to see!
Hoping you're able to return trains to the extension to Humberston at some point.
Best duo of all time da1 and Rachel
Lovely engine, but shame about the music. Whoever stands watching steam engines with music blaring in their ears?
Hi there, thank you for the comment, it was our first history video so we couldnt get it right first time. sadly some of the footage had a lot of wind hitting the mic at the time of recording so we had to cover it up with some music.
These locos look soo cute! Shame no complete units survive..
