I would still take the older model as the newer model is so heavily invested in electronics that a power surge in the new electronics would kill it. Yes it is definitely doable to improve the old one to be more feeicient but the less electronics is a plus.

Solar panel farms are a bad idea. 10 solar panels on your house is okay, but 8 million of them in California is 1.5 billion dollars and not very good. A windmill doesn't make more electricity than this Cat and it cost 20 million dollars, it has to be windy to work. It has to be sunny to work. Otherwise all those billions, nothing. Old model Caterpillar 3508 diesel generator set engine. Well in my experience modified late coming prefix 23Z serial number 3508 engines (twin turbo) are more reliable 🇵🇰☺️🇺🇲😍

NOT A 3408 I own a 3408 and they have 2 heads 1 for each 4 cylinder bank with valve covers covering 2 cylinders each probably should go look before commenting
