You Must Consider Brain Spotting for Chronic Lyme Disease Trauma Relief
This is episode 40 of the Love, Hope, Lyme podcast.
[NOTE: This podcast does not promote any specific medical treatment and should not be seen as a replacement for medical advice.]
On today’s episode, Fred brings on Sami Kirschbaum of the Lyme Resilience Collective to discuss brain spotting and other ways to deal with the trauma that often comes with chronic disease. They discuss how to handle shame and grief that often come with the loss. Sami took Fred through a brain spotting session, and they discuss how it might work for you.
When Fred was doing the research for his popular book “Love, Hope, Lyme: What Family Members, Partners, and Friends Who Love a Chronic Lyme Survivor Need to Know,” he was ignorant of the sometimes perpetual traumas that chronic Lyme survivors might face throughout their healing journey. Many survivors have lost relationships, livelihoods, and joy.
But healing from the trauma is possible.
Fred Diamond's popular book, "Love, Hope, Lyme: What Family Members, Partners, and Friends Who Love a Chronic Lyme Survivor Need to Know" offers those who love someone with persistent or chronic Lyme disease ideas and tips to support this beloved person. It also helps Lyme survivors know how to ask for support.
If someone you love has been afflicted with Lyme disease, watch this podcast now. If you have Lyme disease, listen for ways to get the support you need.
The e-version of Fred's book is always free for Lyme survivors. Just reach out to Fred on Facebook or LinkedIn. The print copy can be ordered at www.amazon.com/Love-Hope-Lyme-Partners-Survivor-ebook/dp/B0B9Q8LX7G/.

Lyme is horrendous! I thank God every day that I managed to heal myself. I contracted Lyme in 2015 and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I couldn't walk, couldn't lift my arm and couldn't sleep because of severe pain 24 hours a day. After a few weeks in hospital the doctor's told me that they couldn't do anything to help me and that my body would have to heal itself. After 5 months in hell I was on the verge of taking my own life just to end the pain. What saved me was a book by Professor Buhner called, 'Healing Lyme. ' I followed his protocol as well as adding a few ideas of my own. It was a very slow process because first you have to kick start your immune system and second you have to fight the bacteria itself of which actually hides from your immune system - known as 'pathogenic bacteria'. What is different about the Lyme bacteria to other bacteria is that it eats the magnesium in your body whereas most bacteria eat iron. Without magnesium your muscles can't work. Little by little I began to improve but I won't lie, it was the fight of my life. All in all it took about one year for all the symptoms and the pain to stop. Only then could I begin to build up my strength again. Today, 2024, I play golf and I am a 8 handicap. If I ever contracted Lyme againI don't think I could go through it a second time and would probably just end my life. That's how vicious it is. For anyone reading this who has Lyme - don't give up - your body can kill it. It takes a special diet, special herbs and sheer will power. It will be the fight of your life but if you want your life back that is what you must do. Anyone who is interested; I made a video of my Lyme recovery journey and posted it on my youtube channel vlog.

Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤ I’m so grateful for our brilliant doctors pioneering research in medical science. Our Lyme foundations MUST recognize their role as follows: 1) require all grant receiving institutions to employ a Lyme literate doctor; 2) insist that our doctors be teaching in medical schools, CME, and public health; 3) understand that academic institutions want this funding now more than ever; 4) pave the way for government funding to set a precedent for funding valid Lyme disease research. Every NIH grant I’ve ever reviewed included particular stipulations to ensure success. Doctors who know nothing about these matters are not qualified to conduct this research! These measures are imperative to move medical science forward.

I wonder could Lyme trigger other autoimmune issues? I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in October 2023 and have been sicker than a dog since. I have been bitten by at least 30 ticks or more in the 23 years living in Indiana. No thyroid issues in the family whatsoever. I wonder if there is a correlation there I don’t know I’m ignorant on these things and my father is a retired gastroenterologist so I’m not a complete idiot. My symptoms are mostly neurological. I am waiting on the Lyme test to come back. It has been sent to a special Lab . I am so fortunate to have a Lyme disease specialist 20 miles from me. He studied out east he seen over 6000 cases of Lyme disease. He’s pretty certain I have it based on seeing me for 30 minutes and his office last week. So who knows. One thing I do know that I’ve learned is at the regular standard testing of Lyme disease is like a flip or a coin. It’s anyone’s best guess rather it’ll be positive or negative it’s so inaccurate.

Lyme’s Disease is a worldwide epidemic 😱😱😱 Millions of individuals have been undiagnosed and/or misdiagnosed & have fallen through the cracks of the medical system 😰😰😰 I was bitten by multiple ticks 6 years ago, and as a result, contracted Lyme’s Disease along with 12 other Tick-Borne Infections 😖😖😖 The pain was excruciating 😰😰😰 Pharmaceuticals were entirely ineffective 😰😰😰 I was tested ( CDC ) for Lyme’s Disease twice and the results came back as negative 😳😳😳 In my desperation, I sent my blood to the Armin Lab in Germany, and within 2 weeks, I received the results and I was positive for Lyme’s Disease along with 12 other Tick-Borne Infections 😱😱😱 I’ve been on a modified version of Stephen Buhner’s Protocol along with several supplements 👍👍👍 I’ve also had to drastically alter my diet as I had developed severe allergies to food at the same time 😖😖😖 I’ve been currently pain free now for 1 year 🥳🥳🥳 I hope & pray that this info might help other victims 🙏🙏🙏 God Bless
