Installing a Winch Bumper on a 2019-2024 Ram 2500 - Hooke Road
Welcome back everyone! In this video I do a full install on the truck with this awesome bumper from Hooke Road! Join me as I unbox it, assemble it and get it installed on the truck! At the end I'll show some beauty shots with it all fully installed!
Full disclosure here, Hooke Road saw my walk around video of the truck and reached out asking if I wanted to work together and install one of their bumpers on the truck! I was honestly blown away here and never expected something like that to happen but, this benefited both of us so I accepted! Now, I hadn't planned on putting a large bumper on the truck, as I stated in the walk around video a few videos back (Link here - th-cam.com/video/vDK-XNMlgVs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RipNEZhnA4X6zC-E) but I really liked the sleek look of this one and how it contoured to the truck. What I also liked was that it had integrated fog lights that come with it from the factory and that it had a winch plate, two things that I mentioned in the walk around video that I wanted to add to the truck soon. By adding this bumper, it achieved two goals giving me a spot to mount a winch and adding fog lights so it was a win win in my book!
They did not pay me to make this video or anything, but rather just offered the bumper in exchange for this video. I felt like this worked out perfectly with my channel to bring a "How To" style install video while showcasing the truck which is a huge part of the channel overall. I hope you all enjoy, let me know in the comments what you think about the video!

Truck Bed Camping w/ my Dog Oakley in the snow
มุมมอง 1.1K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Welcome back everyone, in this episode, Oakley and I set out for a quick overnight in Northern AZ. We ended up striking out on our original destination and had to backtrack and find other open forest roads since so many were closed for winter. That turned out perfec though, because we found snow! We enjoyed the sunset, an amazing steak dinner and some great campfire time. The truck kept us nice...
A Mini Fire Pit and Cast Iron Skillet I Love for SOLO CAMPING!

Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! I found this Japanese omelette pan being used on TH-cam and ordered one off Amazon to test out. I thought this would make a great small cast-iron skillet for solo Camping. It will work great on a bush style twig stove, a small propane stove or butane burner, etc. etc. My wife and kids also got me a small mini pop-up fire pit for Christmas and it fits p...

I ordered a similar bumper. What are the 2 square holes above the winch.
Where do you have the dogs sleep?
@@frankimperiale4470 they both sleep back there with me. It’s cozy but works. Lately I’ve only been taking one with me and leaving one at home with the fam so that’s much easier haha.
Thanks for sharing, this is a very nice setup.
@@CarlasLovingWife thank you! Appreciate that!
So cool..! I may want to try this setup!
@@linkcubuspark thank you, you should!!!
I really admire your well thought out design. How did you make and attach your blackout curtains?
@@denahom thank you! My wife made them, we cut up a thick black sheet and she sewed them up with Velcro to just attach to the topper carpet. 👍
Would you go with the goal zero again?
@@Voice_of_reasons I don’t actually have a Goal Zero. It is a Rockpals, unfortunately they went out of business. It’s worked great for me. I’ll probably upgrade to a Bleuetti or Ecoflow on the next one though.
Nice beautiful 👍🏼
@@MacPakinga-gl8bu thank you!

@@kentwelbes8138 thank you!

@@discombobulatednincompoop7514 nice! Thanks for following along!
@@IntoTheWildernessWeGo For Sure, glad I noticed your vid!
Sad there are ppl reduced to living in queen size bed dwellings that u can only sit on floor in America, how far u have fallen in ur degeneracy!
Get a roll of Velcro Tape, Amazon has it if you don't have real stores around you. One side of it will stick to that topper roof. Bed Rug, the truck liner is made of the same stuff, you can make a sticky pad on stuff so it doesn't slide around on it. I use it to stick fishing poles on the ceiling.
Very neat 🎉 I love it. Well thought out, clean cuts, organized, efficient layout. It feels very confortable.
Great job. I added the EZ toper lift because head room is prime real estate. Enjoyed the video and your dogs are sweet.
Yeah I like the truck setup I love to put that in my truck. So I could do more camping.
@@VictorDannaQuinones thank you! Start out with a cot or just a simple plywood platform and air mattress. Just getting out there is the key! 🙌

My biggest question, as always, is what about sleeping in Texas when it’s still 90F at 10pm? Sure, tents are still hot, but they don’t conduct heat and a fan will go a long way.
@@mtb416 yeah that’s always a tough one. I’m near Phoenix so gets plenty hot. I don’t camp in it but rather head north a couple hours to cooler temps. If you have power you could do a small portable A/C or the Ecoflow one I guess.
Dude, make this modular and easy to remove and you got a nice product.
@@skepticalhippo6376 thank you. Maybe someday I could sell them.
I’m building a set up like this, is that a short bed or a long bed
@@jakemontgomery4074 right on! This is a 6’4 short bed.
Where is the fly fishing gear?
@@davidbaker4838 no fly fishing gear. 😢
very nice setup, but I prefer no build-ins that take up enormous amounts of space in an already challenged environment. I just built a lightweight bunk that is high enough to allow milk jug crates to slide under with a couple inches to spare. It is supported by 6 legs and is open sided. I can see everything inside the crates at a glance, and I can hook them with a short pole to pull them out if I'm outside. Another storage crate is my bedstand which holds firewood that I dump out when get to camp. Two other crates are also firewood and ride along next to the bunk and are also dumped out or set outside. I don't want anything over head for obvious reasons.
@@2TrackMind-c6i nice man sounds like you’ve got a great setup. 👍
I'll never ever understand turning a utility vehicle into an expensive bed and gas cooker.
@@RallyRanchMotorsport I use it for this purpose... Getting off the grid and camping and hauling my dogs in back when towing my rv. The platform allows me to store camping gear underneath. If I need to haul I can take it out easy and have a utility trailer for hauling too. Hope you have a great day. 👍
Awesome set up. Perfect.
@@milkamichellevladic7514 thank you, appreciate it! 😊

@@RichardA-w2q did they approach you at all?
@@IntoTheWildernessWeGo yes I told them to behave themselves if I gave them bears a granola bars and apple I couldn't eat away from my tent and my truck camper down stream river and I said no thank you I don't dates bears I date only real straight biological female woman only. I'm sorry bears that how I rolled. 🐻I only gave animals in wild natural food growing in forest and I gave extra fisherman that died wasn't worth eating for me nuts granola bars and raisins and apple no people's food from grocery stores
Can you come build this for my jeep patriot?? 😩 What a great build!!!
Absolutely perfect. Just perfect.

Over engineered for camping and under engineered for living in. If you like to be, comfortable for 2 days perfect. Anything longer and you’ll need major improvements
@@whydontyouaskme I don’t disagree. I usually solo camp in it 1-2 days. My family and I have an Rv we tow for long trips. 👍

This kind of retreat in nature has been in my mind for many months, I truly commend you for your creativity, organization and prepearardness, very good video. As an avid hiker, I love the wilderness but have no truck and no idea how to start even buying what I would need, even though your videos do show most of what you use. Cheers from Phoenix,I love the desert too.God bless.
@@gabestorm7150 thank you so much! My suggestion would be if you want to start, on a budget and to see if you like it, start with a cheap tent and some gear from Walmart and car camp. There are lots of TH-cam videos on budget gear. Even Harbor freight has some great camping stuff. Most forest roads are maintained enough for a car to get quite a ways out. Cheers!

awesome set up!!! is your camper shell all fiberglass? If so does it hold your roof rack well with a load on it as well? thanks in advance!
@@jadenouki27 thank you! Yeah, it’s fiberglass. It seems to be reinforced inside with extra support in the roof. I put the roof rails and crossbars on and have hauled quite a bit but never a ton of weight. I feel like it would support a good 4-500 lbs evenly distributed but not 100% sure.
Nice build! How is the driver side shelf mounted other than the L brackets? I have a 2019 Ram with the same topper.
@@ericgriffith1847 the lower section is attached to the bed via turnbuckles to the bed tie downs. That holds it tight to the passenger side. The upper wall is bolted to the whole lower section. Then again up top with the L brackets. Been in for 6 months or more and still solid. 👍
