In today's video, I take out FSD Version 13.2.2 in extremely cold temperatures. All things considered, it did a pretty good job. I did encounter one rather dangerous incident where FSD changed courses rather abruptly.

Been waiting for grok for a while hahaha. Just don't fkin set it to fun mode because it might go around trolling you as you're trying to use your car 😂😂😂
Not really what he said , and It is not Tesla’s , it is xai’s. He only said it will be coming to Tesla’s car’s but it will run from the cloud. It may not be able to do anything to the car and just answer questions. Also Grok version 3 coming soon will eat chapgt’s lunch
I’m mixed on this.
I don’t have a problem with the lack of stalks and I am an old dog too. It can be confusing when the wheel is upside down in a roundabout but most people don’t signal in roundabouts anyway and you can’t trust them even if they do! I have read some people put a tactile plastic dot next to one to keep them straight when upside down but I haven’t felt the need to do that. I use FSD about 75% of the time and the car does a phenomenal job of signaling when using it.
I definitely felt the same way about turning the wheel and not being able to see the turn signals well. I found myself getting used to it and learning which signal is which overtime. Always great to hear from you @bobbromm2269!
Are you team stalkless or team turn signal?
Stalkless
Yeah, if it can just do more granular and natural speaking controls inside the car I'll be stoked. The voice commands are pretty powerful already, but certainly there's room for improvement. Outside of that, if it will be able to do control extensions for things like garage door openers, lights, Etc, that would be awesome too. They have several garage door integrations in upcoming software releases, so I am sure the addition of Grok will be helpful with that. Grok could also improve navigation with better info on sites of interest along your route and at your destination. Perhaps give comparative restaurant reviews, etc, along with checking how busy certain attractions and places of interest are.
Oooo yeah! I didn’t even think about the real time navigation experience that Grok can help to provide! I do wish that they didn’t charge extra for the garage door integration with myQ to open/close the door upon entering and leaving!
I Love Your videos thank You for posting ❤💯💢💥💫👍
Thanks for your continuous support!! Always great hearing from you 👍
😎
The rule is to switch your turn signal on about 100 feet before making a turn. This would been totally blue truck fault if there would been an accident. I really don't understand how people defending blue truck in comments " Oh he was confused" etc...
It really failed hard at the last left turn to take it
How does v13.2.2 handle pot holes on roads?
Driving for the totally lazy person! Not to mention that you guys and Musk will drive (no pun intended) millions of people who earn their living from driving out of work. Someday, automation will take your livelihood away too.
Why would I want to sit there and do nothing. If I start reading a blog, I might miss the occasion to intervene. How boring!
🥰😍🥳👍
lmao that aint cold
😂😂😂 - yeah cold for me haha
5:42 hurry likes to camp in the left lane. Even when trafiic is lite and cars pulling up behind you.
What happened at 15:33 is probably caused by the fact that you didn't have any route programmed. The car was deciding by itself where to go. When it saw a vehicle turning, it decided to go somewhere else, period. In my opinion, if a route had been present, this would not have happened. Regarding driving in winter conditions, well, we can't really say that your test is conclusive. The road was totally clear! Believe me, here in the Quebec City area, it's currently 1 degree (Fahrenheit) or -17 Celsius. And when we have snowstorms, the roads are snowy and icy, while the snowplows come and clear the way. You should test in these conditions as well. It would really give a better idea of how the FSD handles in such situations as well as how the battery is affected by the cold.
Oh yeah, I bet in Quebec City the winters are much more serious! Agreed with the lack of a destination for FSD. If there had been an address entered, I doubt it would have acted like that.
rural road driving huh while expounding the glory of FSD? Try any city road that actual calls for something more than lane assist and you will be nauseated. gl. FSD on any city road with more than a couple lanes still feels like a teenager learning to drive. Anyone trying to tell you different is holding TSLA stock.
In hurry mode it turns very aggressive just cut the lane very fast, standard mode i think it is good. But still tesla team should work, it is still not perfect. 13.2.2
I have noticed the same! It seems that the system needs some refinement to be more consistent in different driving modes.
It is too bad that Musk had to destroy the brand.
Thanks for your continued support!! Hope all is well with you!!
@@DriveElectricToday I am in North Eastern Tennessee Its is currently 31 F with mixed rain and snow . What is your location ?
I love FSD, but have one request of @Tesla : in Chill mode, the car’s speed on highway exit ramps should be much slower. Chill is for people (like me) who are willing to take a little longer with less “thrill.”
Absolutely agreed. I noticed the same experience on chill mode when entering/exiting highways.
theres gotta be some leeway. You don't want to be backing up traffic behind you as road rage seems to be all the rage today.
that is a strange and abrupt change, it didn't look like anyone was behind you or was there? The navigation doesn't show a line that it's tracking, did it re-route due to traffic conditions maybe? it almost looks like it was taking a left towards oncoming traffic and it got confused. Very strange indeed, wonder if you can report that somehow for the tesla engineers to review what the code says caused that. I don't have a tesla, and am not buying one any time soon (2.5 years left financing my current car) but I did demo a hw4 model Y a couple days ago. I recorded it POV style if you want to check it out. Nothing fancy lol lemme know what you think 😊
Awesome video bro! Love the POV perspective!
1/5/25 St Louis MO 1 PM ~3" of snow on the ground, some ice under it in areas. Expecting 7" more. I think my '24 M3LR AWD V13.2.2 would probably handle it well enough, but from past experience I don't want to risk interactions with idiots who seem to forget everything they learned about safe driving as soon as the roads start getting covered. This retiree is well-provisioned until around 1/9 with no plans to go outside, let alone drive. Well, maybe go out and fill bird feeders.
Hahaha that is awesome! Going out to fill up the bird feeders sounds like my type of day. Thanks for your continuous support and comments on my videos! All the best to you.
They don’t “disable” regenerative braking when it’s cold it is simply limited due to whatever the temperature of the battery is so you’re almost always getting at least a little bit and will get more and more as the battery warms up. So it’s not an on/off thing. It’s simply a graduated scale.
I see! Good point!
Italian Village/Short North here! Catching up from the holiday. 👍 From the performance, it seems I’d still be in the use FSD on road trips, and driving in unfamiliar cities group. Looking forward to its advancements.
Great to hear from you! Hope you had a great holiday season!
🚨Hi all - Please be sure to check out the 15:33 mark. FSD made a very bad decision, and almost put me into a bad situation 🚨
Thanks for the time stamp. 13.2.2 still behaves erratically. Level 5 autonomy is years away.
Absolutely agreed. It’s more important than ever to remain vigilant and supervise the vehicle carefully.
If there is a No Turn On Red sign will FSD not turn?
From Teslas official documentation, FSD cannot yet read no turn on red signs. However, I’ve seen my car not turn on red before when there is a clear sign ahead. Other times it failed. So very much a hit or miss, and certainly not a standardized feature yet, unfortunately.
@@DriveElectricToday _FSD cannot yet read no turn on red signs_ 5 years in development, AI, neural nets, and a billion dollar data center. But still unable to read a short simple sentence ?
Do you know how FSD will react to an emergency vehicle coming up from behind or approaching?
@@GaryHuff-eo6tz Actually yes! With the rollout of V13, many users received a message asking to opt-in to audio file sharing from the vehicle. The Tesla team is monitoring audio files for emergency sirens and sending it back for analysis. The hopes is that the FSD software will learn to detect emergency sirens using its internal microphone system. Oddly enough, this is the same microphone used for voice commands from within the car. Eventually, the goal is to have FSD respond to these emergency sirens and either prompt the driver to take over or pull off to the shoulder. Not exactly sure on when this functionality will be released in beta. But I imagine pretty soon!
My weather is about the same here and plan to do a small test of my free trial of version 13.2.2. We are in Northern Illinois so that bad weather is staying luckily south of us. Southern Illinois is going to get the brunt of the winter storm. Thanks for you FSD testing. take care.
Im glad you won’t be getting hit with the storm! Definitely let me know how your test drive goes with the trial version of 13.2.2! I’m really enjoying version 13 of FSD. Thank you for your continued support on my channel!
I did a little bit of running around on FSD in NE Ohio with the snow. Overall it was pretty good but I kept taking over just because it didn’t do a good job of staying in the packed down tire tracks. It never felt like it was loosing control but why waste more energy plowing new tracks and packing up the wheels and grill with snow?
Agreed! Here in central Ohio, we haven’t received more than 3-4 inches this season. This winter storm can definitely change things though! It sounds like you, overall, feel pretty safe driving with FSD in the snow?
@@taggartlittle570 Thanks for your info when driving in snow. Have not done that yet. Northern Illinois seems to still be in a Drought kind of weather. Very Dry so far. Take care.
@@DriveElectricToday Just did some test driving today with my free trial version 13.2.2. The weather (cold same as you) did not effect FSD at all for me. Cold day, but nice and sunny here today. Driving through the neighborhood streets, it does like to come quite close to parked cars and objects on the right side of the vehicle. But haven't hit anything yet. lol! Take care.
So you feel very confident with the new FSD version, but the car wanted to go on a red light.... OK... that doesn't sound particularly good.
Once FSD unsupervised is legally approved, people will quickly move away from ICE vehicles and flock to Tesla. FSD is a significant differentiator from other EVs and serves as the "magic" factor that will persuade even the most hesitant ICE owners to transition to EVs. gap between cars: in europe if you have a gap too wide between you and the car you follow, you will have most probably someone moving into that gap, and the cars behind you will get angry and honk for you to move on. In the US (though I haven’t driven there in years), it seems you are permitted to remain in the left lane even when the right lanes are empty, and it’s also allowed to pass other vehicles from the right. In Europe, this is illegal-you must move to the right if the lane is clear and keep the left lane open for faster-moving traffic. FSD will have to adapt to european legislation or it will be very expensive to use FSD ! Also driving 35 with speed limit of 25 is an expensive fine + 15-day suspension of driving licence ! All in all very impressive vidéo !
Yes very undecided, I had an issue with it changing lanes when there was no vehicles to pass or a sudden phantom braking coming over the top of an overpass.
@@demmolitionman9244 Which version of FSD were you running?
How does it do in heavy fog or blizzard snow at night on an unlit serpentine mountain road?
I will be testing in snowy, cold conditions throughout the winter here in North America. So stayed tuned for videos on that!
Most of the video is the same as basic Autopilot, which I’ve had for five years.
Wtf 01:39 blow my mind!
I know right! Crazy to see software making decisions like that.
Awesome video with commentary. I am loving my v13.2.x FSD as well. Well worth the monthly sub.
Thank you for the support! Isn’t version 13 awesome? Way better than previous versions in my opinion.
Does FSD slow down if it sees police cars with radar?
That’s a great question. I’m not too sure but that would be a really amazing feature!
How does it react with an oncoming emergency vehicle, e.g. ambulance?
That’s a really good question. I haven’t experienced it yet. I wonder if any of my viewers that have experienced this situation can comment here?
nah . tesla cant even correct manual cruise control without having to phantom break for no reason. fsd is dumb.
Driving in what we here in Britain would consider to be almost no traffic on wide open roads does not seem much of a challenge.
FSD using cameras only is never going to succeed. Inertia cares little about software errors.
It is dangerous to be overconfident in autonomous driving. A passenger plane crashed due to overreliance on the autopilot. th-cam.com/video/KVPqMSQPBA8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8fmY7wnaJNsPhHlb
Hurry Mode's smaller distance means nobody's going to cut in front of you
Love this channel, I’m legally blind so cannot wait for this to be fully autonomous so I can buy one to have freedom and be able to do what I want without taking an Uber or finding someone to give me a ride 49 years old I’ve never had a license Then legally blind since seven years old, this is probably the greatest era in history to be alive
Thank you for your continuous support! It’s so amazing to hear stories like yours. We are getting very close to that being a reality for you!
FSD 13 is amazing but considering how randomly the auto wipers still operate I hope they never connect the horn to FSD. 😂
LOL - very true
Great video, thanks !
Thanks for your support!
For the performance it has in my area Austin TX region, I think it's the question of am I willing to spend $8000 for a chauffeur for a lifetime and the answer is yes. Can FSD do better? yes, but as of now I think it worth, considering it pretty much replace me as a driver 95% of the time.
I also use it about 90% of the time! However, I mainly use it the suburbs. So I feel as if it’s more reliable as opposed to city driving for me.
🥰😍🤩🥳❤💢💥💫👍👍👍
@@BillBadMule123 Thanks for your continuous support!
There are way more complaints about Tela's then any other car. No way would you ever catch one of these pieces of un-safe junk in my driveway.
