Solar Water Pump for Rain Barrels
I have been gardening the last few years and rainwater does so much better at providing nutrition to our plants than city water! After getting a couple 50 gallon rain barrels, I was excited to test them out, only to find that the water pressure was awful. I expected to have a little more pressure with 100 gallons of water, but it was SLOW! I could have run an outlet to the exterior of my house and plugged in a 120v pump, but I've been wanting to experiment with solar for a while and so I decided to dive in. This will also allow us to use this system anywhere without relying on electricity. This system setup works great for our rain barrel setup, but can work in a variety of different situations. I hope that the information is helpful for you and if you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments and if I know the answer, I'll let you know! Peace and God bless!

    "45 degree angle". As far as I know, the ideal angle for a solar panel is whatever your latitude is. If you're at 20 deg north, face the panels south and tilt them 20 from horizontal. If you're at 45 degrees north, then 45 degrees is the right angle.

    I replaced the main board and it was still broken. But the guy who sold me the part told me to take the wide white cable out of the main board (as this is the cable to the display panel) and see if your TV turns on. My TV was constantly power cycling with a black and blue screen. I removed the white cable, turned the TV on and I heard audio from my TV. Do this step before you buy any new parts. If your tv turns on after removing the cable for the display panel then it’s the panel itself that’s broken, everything else is working. Not too sure if it’s worth replacing the panel though, maybe if you can find a cheap one, but I found it too hard to find.. Might just have to buy a new TV, or buy a 2nd hand one of the exact same model and move your main board to the new TV, so that you retain all the saved data.

    A very well done and professional instructional. Lots of both visual and audio detail. Emphasis on safety was excellent. The only thing I do that's different, and this by no means a criticism, just a suggestion, is that I use gussets and carriage bolts on the corners where the diagonal pieces meet. Living here in the hot south west even the best glue doesn't last long because of the shrink and swell of the wood over time and sun light. Ten to 15 years at best. Thanks for your time and effort putting this together.

    The cantilever on both the skids and floor joists looks way out of spec. And to do both seems sketchy/unstable. Maybe you have span tables that support your dimensions?

      I used a span table similar to this.

    • @krehbein
      @krehbein 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ok not trying to give you a hard time but you’re going to have issues down the road. First the whole structure is on (4) blocks. I hope the base is solid. Next there’s 2 beams with a decent cantilever on both ends, those will likely end up bowing at some point. 4x4s are just not that strong. Hell if you lean one against a wall it will bow over time 😮 Then you have the floor joists with a cantilever on each end. Cantilevers are typically done with the 1/3 rule…. 1/3 cantilevers so 2/3 has to be set back from the beam under where the cantilever starts. So 2’ cantilevers requires 4’ joist set back from the beam that bears the load. Since you have two cantilevers it would be at least 3’/6’/6’/3’ (or whatever your dimensions are). Guessing you didn’t do that, but the camera could be not showing things right. Either way it’s done. You may want to think about adding a few more footers before things get out of whack. Ounce prevention worth pound of cure.

    You installed the bottom. Bolt through the ground incorrectly That's not to hang it when you're done. That's to give strength to it. It's supposed to be a double latch

    This may be a stupid question, but I’m a single girl attempting ac maintenance for the first time. How do I find my evaporator coils if my setup is different from yours? On the bottom I have a large metal box with vents (from the stickers on it I think it’s the gas furnace). There’s a medium size metal box on top of it, then a smaller one shaped like a flat top pyramid on top of that. There is a big exhaust pipe (I assume) in from of the medium and small boxes. Any clue where the evaporator coils would be? Also I’ve already shut off AC power at the breaker, but how do I shut off the gas line going to the heater? (No visible switch). Any info would be greatly appreciated, although I do understand if you can’t tell without looking at it (wish I could add a pic!)

      I really can’t say without seeing it. There are some companies that will send out coupons for free estimates on a/c work. Maybe you can call a company like that, that will come out and then you can ask them.🤷‍♂️

    Great video. You helped me through a stressful repair! Thank you so much! The belt tension bolt was 19mm. Had to get creative to get enough leverage on that portion of the fix.

    Yeap, you made me look like a Pro. My kid's dogs chewed up the cord on the Masterbuilt smoker so we definitely were in scramble mode with D Day faster approaching
