In 4 th place magically a T-6 trainer is a P-47 Thunderbolt or do my eyes deceive me ?
#1 looks like something Straight from SPEED RACER. Man that was a Dark Ass show too. Headphones with Killer Spikes ?
Maybe self-driving is harder than recycling a starship.🤣
Seems that way😂
The technology is no wear ready for self driving cars to be in public roads... Maybe in 10 to 30 years when AI have become a LOT better.
I think so too, otherwise the Teslas already on the road would be using it, and be considered robotaxis
Only the word "next year" ...only the word "reality"......china already has self-driving taxis on the street...
How good are the chinese ones though? Are they doing better than Waymo? It would interesting if so
you mean, full self unsupervised autonomous ultra, no hand in the wheels driving? because last time I check Elon added another adjective, is full self driving supervised and unsupervised... it is kind of hilarious at this point.
🤣your comment killed me. am currently laughing from heaven😂😂 maybe every new adjective added is a sign of incremental progress
Philosophically there is no such thing as 'supervised full self driving' it is either supervised driving, or full self driving. By the latter is meant a really really reliable system. There are already class 4 systems, they are just not made by Tesla. Added to that, it solves a problem that barely existed. Ok, it is nice to provide autonomy to the elderly or others that are incapable to drive safely themselves, but it is hardly solving the biggest problems that traffic has to face and we're not even solving those properly. I think it looks more like a 16 year old's dream.
true. "'supervised full self driving" is up there with "dry water" or "hot ice"😂
to be fair, most if not all the crashes shown here were driver error (or more accurately driver recklessness). Tesla does seem behind on FSD though... Waymo is already doing 100k+ FULLY autonomous rides in SF a week and plans to extend the coverage area to the whole peninsula below SF soon
well, the drivers may have been reckless but the FSD should have easily prevented the crashes considering even the worst human driver would have seen a truck blocking the entire lane. I dont think there's an excuse for that one. Tesla is behind yes because Musk insists on using only cameras. A smudge on the camera can easily be mistaken for an object. I also agree that Waymo may have a better chance at it. If they cant do it with all those sensors, then cameras alone on the Teslas have no chance
I think the real frustrating thing is that FSD is technical already possible (not only Tesla, just cars in general). This beeing said, what is the issue? I can sit in a Model S and place my hand on the wheel and that's it. I don't steer, I don't break / accelerate and it can change lane. The car is always paying attention, it is not on the phone and so on. It also doea this with greater attention then people. So we ARE already at a point where FSD is safer then the average driver on the highway. But what if? What if something goes wrong? Who is responsible? That shit is not clarified and people wanting to blame car manufacturers for the errors are not helping in this situation. It is and advanced system that takes off stress and effort from the drivers. It's not a substitute for a driver UNTIL responsibilities are cleared out. Harsh reality. As long as autonomous cars are responsible for less crashes / fatal accidents, it's a net positiv. End of story.
i don't think its safer than a human yet. Take for instance the times things have actually gone wrong, a human would have done better in all those instances. The one where it hit straight into an overturned truck in the middle of the highway or the times it hits into a highway barrier are all times when a human would have done better. It works well when it works but terrible when it doesn't, which leads to anxiety when using it. Its like having a kid with minimal experience drive you. You're always attentive for when things could go wrong, which isnt a great driving experience, because you know one mistake could end your life or others. The stakes are very high. The problem with programming such a system is that there's a lot of unknown situations that can occur and its hard to account for all of them. Even using AI, it hallucinates quite a bit. The AI we use for image generation are good a lot of the time but very bad sometimes, which would cost lives if that was a car being controlled instead. Worse that Elon decided not to use LIDAR but only cameras, which makes the car blind when a human cant see either. Waymo has many sensors and still they struggle with these issues, what more one with only cameras? I think the day we solve Artificial General Intelligence will be the day a Autopilot becomes safer than a human. In that case the AI can make better decisions when its a new situation. I hate to say it but unfortunately i don't think this will happen in our lifetime
I work with this stuff on a day to day base. I fully agree with you that Lidar is superior to only camera systems. Don't quote me on that but I think Tesla had Lidar and visual image recognition in HW2 and tried only Lidar in HW2.5 or HW3 and went back to both on HW4. But I could be wrong on it. Human driving drunk and text n drive actually kill more people than autopilot measured by miles driven (yes, we have less ap capable cars on the road, but compared to per 100k miles driven the human suck more. Not because of you, but because the average human sleeps, plays on the phone or drives under the influence or just not paying attention) I still love your comparison on the little kid. Lol it's so accurate. I was on the highway (Tesla) and thought I could relax. Empty highway, what could to wrong? The car recognized the bridge as a obstacle. Fucking car did a full hard break xD Then with a BMW, I was in one country and it recognizes the signs perfectly. Next country, it recognizes a 50 as 60 and I got a ticket. Lol. And as stupid as these accidents sound, as long as it's less then the average human, we are good. And believe me, we are actually at that point already on the highway. Not because AP is so powerful, but because humans monkey brain suck at driving lol. But I can also get behind the fear, as the instances the cars fail on me I would have never done something like that.
I had a mental thought experiment about this and came to the conclusion that Tesla would probably have to get liability insurance from a big company.
@@Curiouslist "The one where it hit straight into an overturned truck in the middle of the highway or the times it hits into a highway barrier are all times when a human would have done better." Not to argue, but there was a human behind that wheel, and he didn't do anything. Just like how you can tell humans not to speed, you can tell people to monitor the car because it could make mistakes. They wont.
@@ropefreeze1660 humans can be sloppy but not to those levels. The driver was relaxed knowing he was being driving by an autonomous car as promised by the manufacturer. Thats why Tesla had to change its name to "SUPERVISED full self driving", which makes no sense really, since it cant be FULL self driving if its supervised, after the lawsuits. He called it FSD way too early
Nothing beats the Gullwing.
What about Renault Trezor concept and BMW Isseta?
Ghost flights….but a cow farting is the cause
🤣thats a lot of farts😂 but im the end, we're still the ultimate cause whether its cow farts or ghost flights. Humanity is quite destructive
@@Curiouslist Yea, any excuse to raise taxes but never seem to lower them once problem is solved or refuse to solve it for financial greed
ever heard of the "Zündapp Janus" ? Take the Isetta and place the same doorstyle in the back of the car... 😄
Booooo. You went for glam instead of the true innovators. While I love the Lancia Stratus Zero, that door design had more humble origins by way of Iso SPA who designed the Isetta. Another car with odd doors, was the Messerschmitt KR microcar, whose door was the entire roof.
i thought Back to the Future's DMC DeLorean would make it to the list..
That first car must have been a nightmare in the rain. I bet it leaked like crazy.
My favorite is not in your video: BMW Z1. I also like very much BMW Isetta. The Isetta door concept is now making a come-back on a small electric car. I liked your video very much. thank you.
Your pronunciation needs some work...
GT40
Which would I add to the simplcicty list? The Porsche 912, the limp sibling of the 911.
BMW was a licence builder of the Isetta, it wasn't their own design.
How the hell did the VW beetle not make this list? By today's standard it's a crappy car (like the others from the same period). But it was the first car of generations (I in that timespan). Looking for engineering genious, the Mini is outstanding. Most European and Asian cars are Mini replicas (with the excepion of BMW and Mercedes). If they just hadn't put the distributor in front they would have ruled the world...
The 1990 Land Rover -Defender- is on this list? Seriously? But then, it sounds like an AI spoken script. Not surprised vehicles like this are here.
Well, could you name something that you consider sophisticated about the 1990 Land rover defender?
Well, could you name something that you consider sophisticated about the 1990 Land rover defender?
@@Curiouslist Compared to other cars on this list, like the 2CV, Isetta, Fiat 500, we can point to the engine, transmission, suspension, amenities, and a whole host of other things that are common to anything built after the mid 80's. Seriously. Once you get out of the Carbs and Points age, nothing is especially "simple." And anything with 4 wheel drive loses the "simple" designation.
The Renault 3 was the real poverty spec compared to the R4. It used the same bodyshell and looked identical until you saw that Renault had deleted the rear side window along with a lot more from the interior of the R4 version - and you thought they couldn't make the R4 more basic!
You must be kidding adding Lada Niva on this list. Have you saw it transmission? Not simple at all.
Where is Tata Nano.
It have ECU and shouldn't be on this list. Same apply for Daewoo Matiz. Not simple at all.
@M65V19 Electronic Control Unit is in all vehicles. Cheap and Reliable. Shame that they stopped production. It should be in this list.
@@nadaraja8334 In all modern vehicles, yes. But if we speaking about video's ones, only Daewoo Matiz have it.
Btw, is Tata Nano ever been exported from India?
@@M65V19 ofcourse Horse Carts did not have Steerings , They were much simpler than these cars. Simple but with ECU, that is evolution .
how did you not include the Koenigsegg lineup in this? or are they in another video?
wot no bond-bug?
The DeLorean’s gullwing doors actually made it to production. With its clever and patented dual-actuating gas strut and torsion bar lift system, the doors are beautifully balanced and require no power to operate. They shield the interior when it’s raining, make it easy to step forward and out, remove a portion of the roof giving lots of room to get in and out, and only require 11” of side clearance to fully open, making them work better in tight parking spaces than standard doors. All you have to do for maintenance is take 5 minutes to replace the $25 struts once every 8 years or so. DeLorean roofs are lower to the ground than any car sold today, so the practical aspects of these doors serve the tricky car geometry well.
The Lamborghini Marzal had doors made mostly of glas, creating a 'visual effect, that felt like you could see straight through the car.... What the hell are you talking about? You COULD see straight through the damn thing, dude!
While not classic, the tesla model X doors are quite unique for several reasons.
Gonna need to do a part three to get the ones you missed.
It’s “Lan-cha”, not Lantia
tiny correction on the Loremo, the "door" solution is not because of aerodynamics but something else that also contribute to fuel consumption... the weight. while the concept was made they found that each door added to the side of the car adds 70kg to meet safety requirements so they scrapped all the doors and made the frame in a similar manner as an F1 car, ending up with an 700kg car that still was safe from side collisions.
Very Cool. The BMW i3 concept car had doors very similar 1967 Lambo Marzal. Well not the gullwing part, but the glass part top and bottom. These did not make it onto the production model. It's rear suicide doors were fairly weird though.
Isetta front door.
Still missing two iconic german cars from the 1950s. The BMW Isetta and the Messerschmitt Kabinenroller.
Not really 10 classic cars as most were prototypes.
Saying "classic " is kinda like saying "from back in the day..." that would include prototypes too. Classic, is technically anything 20 years or older. This is my understanding, unless iam mistaken
Where’s the BMW Isetta? The whole front with the steering column and wheel swang open. They had to give this “car” a soft top just to allow passengers to exit in case of a frontal collision.
I missed that one. It deserved to be on this list for sure. A cute little car😊
There was also the Nova Kit Car - Designed by Richard Oakes in 1971 and launched in 1972 Probably the cheapest of the cars shown, and maybe the most numerous.
I want you to look up the Isdera Commendatore 112i. Thanks to me playing the hell out of Need for Speed 2 when I was a kid, I can assure you that If you do another of these videos, I'm sure it'll end up in the top 3.
Surely this would have been better if it included only cars which made it to actual production !
Mazda RX-8 tiny suicide doors for the backseats that can only be opened after the correspoding front door is opened first. Such a unnecesarily convoluted design.
I wonder if the Stratos was as hard to drive at the F104 was to fly?
2:11 you mean the 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.
Best VTOL video ever!
Thank you, I appreciate it😊
what about the BMW Isetta?? :)
Yes, I spent the whole video wondering when they were going to show it.
That’s not a CAR. That’s a roller skate with a motor
The designer of the Kaiser Darrin knew how often people are assholes in parking lots
Sir are you planning on returning to the Quick Programming channel?
