Our first time visiting Toronto! These clips are actually from Summer 2022, but just getting around to sharing now. We hope this info can help anyone who is looking to plan a trip for the upcoming Spring and Summer months! Some highlights are below:
Flight ✈️
* We flew with Porter Airlines- super affordable, smaller plane, and one drink is included!
* If available, we recommend flying into Billy Bishop (Toronto City Airport) instead of Pearson International. It is so easy to get to the main downtown area of Toronto from here, our hotel was a 5 minute Uber drive away.
St. Lawrence Market 🐟 (0:26)
* Definitely recommend going here- a large food marketplace. A nice area to walk around and see all of the fresh local produce that the city has to offer. There are also eateries/ food vendors where you can pick up some snacks and takeaway food for lunch. (A great option if you’re looking to pack snacks/lunch for a trip to Little Island!).
* This is one of the more popular locations to try a Peameal Bacon Sandwich, aka ‘Canadian Bacon’! A must-try when in Canada.
* Option 1: Carousel Bakery (1:23). This Bakery has ben featured by celebrity Chefs (Emeril Lagasse and Bobby Flay), and has been featured in magazines and TV shows. Definitely a popular location- we were going to go here, but they only accepted cash when we went!! So pro tip, we recommend having some of the local currency on hand just in case.
* Option 2: Paddington’s: (1:38) This is where we went, they accepted credit card. The sandwich we got was delicious! You get to choose what toppings you want (vegetables, sauce, etc.). We didn’t get to try both locations so can’t say which was better, but this one was definitely tasty!
* ‘Toronto Walk of Fame” (1:55): Saw the ‘Toronto Walk of Fame’ on Google Maps, wanted to show what it actually looked like. More of a local spot for business employees to take their lunch break.

* Brookfield Place (Hockey Hall of Fame)
Ripley’s Aquarium 🐬 (4:17)
* After the aquarium, we recommend going to Steam Whistle Biergarten/ Taproom Across the street (5:52). 🍻

* Rosewood was so ridiculously good, we ate there twice. They had so many options on their dim sum menu, and everything was so fresh, savory, and delicious. Our favorite dishes were the Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai, the Black Bean Spare Ribs, The Meat & Oyster Sauce in Bean Curd, the Sticky Rice with Preserved Meat, and any of the Rice Rolls. If you’re feeling adventurous, we also recommend the Ginger & Scallion Beef Tripe and the Deep Fried Capelin Fish (smaller whole fish, filled with capelin roe)
* Mix 2 Grill & Hot Pot
* We got the grill & hot pot (half sukiyaki broth, half Korean spicy bone broth). Come with an empty stomach, we were STUFFED after.
* Ice Wine (Niagara College Teaching Distillery)

* We booked this tour through Viator, and have to say it was worth it all!
* The tour included :
* Pick up/ drop off right at our hotel (Sheraton Centre Toronto)
* A visit to the Niagara College Teaching Distillery (got to try local wines, including Ice wine)
* Lunch at Queen Victoria Place Restaurant (Drinks not included, overlooks the Falls)
* Niagara Falls Boat Cruise
* Fun fact- blue ponchos are for ‘Maid of the Mist’, which is the US Side. Red ponchos are for the Canada Side.
