Seems like early morning fog fishing
You betcha! I love when it’s like that!
10/10
Thank you! 🤙
whats up with bass fishermen setting the hook like a freight train on 1-2lb fish lmfao
Have you ever fished with a glide bait? It’s not exactly easy to penetrate a thick jaw or roof of mouth with a heavy gauge 1/0 hook. The same goes for jigs with brush guards, heavy gauge flipping hooks, frogs, etc. You also don’t know how big the fish biting is going to be until after, but you still need that power to drive those heavier hooks through. You’ll see lots of videos where people just lean into it, or do a softer hook set when using thin gauge hooks for finesse styles of fishing, jerkbaits, crankbaits, etc.
Nice, just be careful don’t brake the rod or the line by lifting the fish 🎣 I made this mistake before.
Me too! You have to make sure you catch the fish or line before it loads up fully on the rod. Can’t let it come down and bounce its full weight on the tip or you could be in trouble!
Is that your boat in the back ground
@@per-cas haha heck no, that things gigantic. My boats the one you thought might be a Jon boat
That's a lot more than 3 rods in the water.
@@tugboat420lol yeah it was almost all of them 😬
Is that a Jon boat
No, it’s a modified V
Nice
Thank you! 🙌
what's the point of the heat shrink tubing? never seen any professionals use this when repairing rods?
I’m not a professional, and the only parts I had around was an eye that was too big. It helped lock it on
Did you catch anything other than smallies?
A few pike as well
@@SOA905 oh nice!
I’m in Georgian bay, what spots do you recommend?
It’s a big place man and I can’t say I know it well. I visit a cottage once a year there and this was the first year with boat access
I’m right next to that spot, would you recommend it?
If you’re near there, yeah for sure. I wasn’t there too long and it was producing for me
@@SOA905 is it only small mouth or does it have largemouth too?
@@the_impeccable_one Georgian Bay also has largemouth, but they’re less common. They’ll stick to different terrain generally, although it’s possible to pick them off the same spot. Usually though, Smallmouth are in deeper water set up on boulder piles, humps or drop offs. Largies will usually be in shallower weedy areas.
Witch one is the morning
That was dawn 👌🏼
Go for a swim and check your top eye for cracks/chips.
I got it back, that was supposed to be today’s video but I didn’t have reception to post at the usual time. Check back tomorrow! Good tip about the tip guide, I’ve had that problem before. This was just wear and tear on old braid 30’ down the line
I'm gonna have to try boiling mine. Because I can't ever get a good hook set with my frogs.
It works great! Bring your swimbaits with bent tails along for the party because it’ll straighten those out too 🤙
Explanation to what happened?
I’m not 100% sure, I never could pinpoint how it happened, but here’s what I know: I had just reeled in a big jerkbait and just brought it to the tip then put the rod in the holder in my crate, I didn’t secure the lure. A minute later I felt a hard tug, I heard my crate flip, then a snap. Turns out the lure I just stored had somehow come loose, I guess thumb bar got pressed in the holder, and that lure spooled out until it hooked something, reached the end of the spool and snapped. It ripped the side plate right off and spool right out of the reel!
😂😂
She did her best! 😂
I like watermelon red with green pumpkin Ned rigs
@@BassMan_21 killer combo!
Green pumpkin or junebug ether or
Both are great options!
Can somebody explain to me, its gonna be my first time using an old baitcaster and i always use spinning reels
@@Sean-oe4oj the line is supposed to run under that piece of the reel that the arrow is pointing to, and through the guide.
@@SOA905 thanks lol

Damn Pike teeth!! No steel leader? Good video
@@duffjorgenson3391 I was bass fishing with light gear, didn’t expect to hook into a pike. However, if I was pike fishing I’d run a heavy fluoro leader over steel, it’s less visible and easier to work with and inspect 🤙 thanks for watching!
You have white caps and you leave the scuppers in? You asked for your boat to fill with water.
@@mikevarley7261 thanks for watching. Yes, I admitted in the caption that it was a bad move that I hadn’t realized they were in at first or that I’d take on water so fast. I keep them out by default now

Kayak tournament where?
That wasn’t a kayak tournament, it was just a regular tournament, but it was on Lake Scugog
Little jacks are voracious fighrers. Yummy too...
I've recently had my first perch fishing experience it was so much fun even tho they are tiny fish
The tug is the drug! It’s not always about the size, they’ll all put a smile on your face in the right circumstance and with lighter gear!
He caught you, but wasnt wanting to release you yet
No time soon!
Ur very lucky it’s not fully in yet cause them it’s way harder to get out
Yep! I always check roadside and again when I get home because you can’t be too careful!
Always check for ticks they carry diseases so always check
Absolutely! ASAP after being somewhere “ticky”… and again when you get home just in case!

That perch would have been gutted, fileted, battered and thrown in hot oil and bacon greese for that.
That’s exactly what happened to it 😂
Just pull it out babygirl 😂
She gone!
F treble hooks
It’s a real love/hate relationship 😆
Karma😂
Upped the ante and released it to the grease hahaha
That perch would’ve definitely been in the grease
That’s exactly where it went 😂
Bro said “now you know how it feels!” But in all seriousness I hope you disinfected that well. I wish you had shown more about how you removed it.
We went straight for the first aid kid after for some disinfectant 👍 and thanks for the feedback. Maybe I’ll do another edit that shows the steps better. I posted another removal a couple months ago that showed more but it only got about 100 views, so I tried something different this time.
Perch said " take that buddy"
In the end, the perch ended up in the pan.. so we got the last laugh 😂
😮 was iy 1 hook in yje leg and 2 caught in yje pant which you pulled with the line
Originally it was all 3 hooks, but one turned out to be before the barb and came out easy. Ended up with 2 trebles in the leg past the barb, one above the knee and one below it, pinning his leg into a bent position. I had to remove one hook off the bait, then tape the hooks so the points didn’t get him or me during removal. Then I pulled the bait, followed by the loose hook. Then he had to pull a hook out of his pants that somehow got in there during the mix.
Good job dude although your friend would be on some pain
@@per-cas haha he managed ok. Long way from the heart!
Which lake is this were you bank fishing
Can’t say, sorry!
Nice in detail thanks
Hope you find it helpful! It’s tricky at first to get the timing right but it gets easier.
I very rarely throw a frog/topwater as most often bank fish but if I do will watch your reel again to get it right 👌
@@per-cas I most often bank fish as well and a frog or other topwater are usually the first things I grab. I start about 15’ away from the bank and cast past where I plan to fish from. Then, if nothing hits, I move to the bank and cast both ways along the bank. Then proceed to fan cast the area. I’ll then move on to swimming baits, then bottom baits.

SOA905, I’m sorry you’re getting all this criticism from those morons about how the lure is a mouse, almost exactly the same as a frog lure. I will try this method sometime. Thanks for the video.👍
Thanks, I appreciate the support. If they can’t see past the paint job on a lure to realize it’s the same thing, they’re missing out on some valuable tips 🤷🏻♂️ I hope you try them out and slam some fish!
