Hi Everyone my name is Lawrance. I am from India and do sailing all over the world. I welcome you all to my TH-cam Channel: The Marine Tech Lawrance. I am working on board ship as an Electrical Officer since 2012. I have done Electrical Engineering and marine electrical and electronics . i am also a licenced electrical supervisor .I am an Electro technical officer COC holder from DG shipping India. So what you actually do with heating
This is my personal experience.. whenever we sailed in cold climates or in the north, some PLC stops working.. and when i preheat PLC, it starts working. the problem was with the IC and a zener. Need to replace that.

The IO board is no longer supplied by Alfa Laval. I need to make repairs now. Does anyone know where I can download it diagram in PDF?
Hi there.. I believe only Alfa laval can help you out in this matter.. better ask for there advice, they will guide you and send you all details you need.
@@TheMarineTechLawrance Alfa Laval gave us the suggestion to exchange the entire EPC50 for the EPC70. So I believe that Alfa Laval will not send me the electronic diagram of the boards.
I think that’s the only way then.

Hello.. It is not dead..u can use a hair blower or a hot air gun.. switch off power and blow hot air to logo 230c for 10 to 15 seconds. Switch on again and check..

Press the ENTER & + push button for at least 5 seconds..then use + - PUSH BUTTON to access settings..
Is there any time frame in changing the plc battery?
Yes every 5 years battery need to be change.. PLC give indication of battery replacement before 1 week..so we get time for renewal..

RADAR transmission unit has a high voltage (HV) card that could be defective.. while checking this card, be very careful, PCB will be charged up to 600 V.

Hi.. first switch off plc 230vAc, Now use a hot gun to preheat PLC for at least 10 seconds..then switch on power..plc will be On.. DONOT OPEN PLC TO INSPECT.YOU MIGHT LOST ALL PROGRAM IF YOU DISCONNECT PLC BATTERY..

Hi... If it shows failure, there must be code(cause of failure).. then troubleshoot as per code..Maintenance manual contains all code of failure..

Hello James.. It's good to know that this heating method worked.. We need to heat up the whole PCB.. Recently, i was in canada, and due to a sudden change of weather, I faced the same problem with VFD PCB. Later on, I had to heat up PCB, and I was able to operate VFD..
