This brings back memories. Loved every minute of the Corps. Platoon 2127 Hotel hell 2002. Senior DI Ssgt Rodriguez. Taught me a lot about myself and I still have a tight sharp 🔪 ✋️.

I know four of the kids here I went to highschool with them. 3 are marines all Cpls the 4th one chickened out got on hard drugs and resides in my home town doing nothing with his life

You don't sit on your ass for 3 months. I been there, 1 Batt D Co. Plt. 1029. They do a better job of preparing recruits than they did in 1990.

So many already have their shirts tucked in and hair cut short - so motivated. If I knew then what I know now, I’d have gone to these events with ripped jeans, long hair, facial hair and a hat. Once you are in they got you by the balls. I would have come out of the event like, you know SSGT I’m not super motivated to go any more - let them pull benefits out their butt like PFC out of boot, maybe a bonus. Nope, not me - I was like these schmucks all motivated, and I came out of boot as a Private.

Kinda sounds eerily similar to a hitler speech with all the “Aye sir” sounds an awful lot like “heil” if you close your eyes

It's all fun and games when you still get to go home and sleep in your own bed. It doesn't become real until you are sleeping in a room with a bunch of strangers, some were literally crying out loud, no joke, some kids were actually crying themselves to sleep!

The Di who came to see us when I was a poolee was awesome. I later ran into him while doing Red Beach and he was a WO3. I then ran into him at the range and he was a unicorn. WO5. Guy was amazing

Amazing how he took control of the entire group just with his voice and body language. Drill sergeants are special people. They are responsible for making recruits into effective soldiers. By doing this, they save lives.
