We are a third generation grain farm in northern Alberta. We raise 5 types of crops: barley, wheat, peas, oats and canola on 2500 acres. My wife and I work along side my mom and dad and involve our young children as much as possible. Follow along for our adventures.

After attempting the first SCV with no luck I called John Deere for some advice and decide to take it in. The initial bill was over $2000 and I thought was totally out to lunch as you need about $400 in parts and a few hours labour. Armed with two days of research and 4 new valves I attempted the second SCV myself to see how long it would actually take and after 20-30 extra minutes trying to sm...

No wells here, so I'm learning watching this.
Repetitive chores like pushing snow around works on these channels; show the beginning, middle and end result = happy viewers. Some talking about it while going to do it, and talking about what was done is good too - but just as extra story framing - which the human brain can't get enough of - but the story is the actual doing of the thing - story in images. Should make lots of content and double the length of the video with very little editing. I know you don't have a camera stand. Perhaps a magnet stand? One of those with pipe-cleaner style bendable holds? A head mount miners' style? :)
Buddy on a bull dozer mounts his camera over his left shoulder so you can see as much of the field (that he's windrowing for example) as possible. About 7 repeated actions is the limit for the earthing brain, then go to a different angle of the next set of repetitions. People like 'repetitive chaos' (the chaos is the dirt/snow rolling over; the repetitive frame - the 'tension' to the chaos - is the next windrow line). Hope that's helpful. A forest for the trees thing. Enjoy your content. Cheers.
I ran a waterline down into my well that the electrical runs through to run my submersible pump. Tired of wires rubbing through.
You guys have been greedy on snow south of the river. Maybe 6” here, haven’t even pushed snow yet.

Hoofta. Neighbor calls me. My versatile tractor is crunching. Come give me your opinion. I went. Planetary is screwed sounds like. Do you have time to pull it apart. Not today. So he pulled it apart. Over 10000 in parts he needs. And that's used and 2700 labor if the dealer puts it together for him. No new parts are available anymore.
@@jeremycherny2041 wow that’s not good.
If it’s an older versatile it probably isn’t worth a lot more than that planetary. That sucks.
@chadtosh6831 846. Yeah it ain't worth much. He said he was going to sell it for scrap. I said how much? Now he's fixing it lol.
@@chadtosh6831 Hmm... One of mine has been on the farm since new for 40 years with the first 2 winters also in the Bush ... Been a very good tractor... Very easy and cheap to fix... Go good I bought another same vintage 3 1/2 years ago!! .....Was it out of low on oil?? Son broke a axle tube rough snow ridge dozin snow easy fix.. Planetary not that complicated $2700?? wheels/tires and its right there!
Do you need more chicken or turkey? We have lots if you need some.
Wow, that is an incredible difference where you put molasses on the grass! It would be interesting to run some strips through the pasture and see the difference.
I’ve replaced two freezers, and had to replace the compressor on one fridge since we built our house. Throwaway junk appliances these days. Unfortunately it takes a grand worth of meat with it when it goes.

[Declaration of conflict of interest: I'm a tradesman.] Whenever anyone asks you who welded that hitch (or asks why it eventually develops stress fractures) you'll have to say it was you or it'll cast aspersions on your school master's ability ... So because your a good person - word of mouth advertising on this job won't happen. That's why everything done for money has to be 'perfect'.
Good to have good neighbors...I also agree with you on the fact that things are getting out of control on the weight of stuff
Did you get the early Sunday snow... Gotta check the gear "15 minutes" when getting filled with the Nitrogen! Wheel fell off "grease fittings are on them Bourgault hubs and easy to check bearings when lowered all the way"... But did the NH3 cart get pulled very far with the hose before uncoupled when the hitch broke... Attach a safety chain all the way to the cultivator from the wagon hitch.... I bought a new Bourgault factory hitch for mine similar cultivator to pull NH3 wagons 30 ?? years ago very well built has never broke and lots of drainage V ditches in fields!
Great video
All that weight cause a lot more compaction then we realize too.
It sounds like your neighbor is quite a good guy😊 I work at a small fab shop and Im always learning something. Each welding machine has its own personality is one thing to keep in mind. My welder at home is way different then the one at work.

Is it your personal land or an lease of crown land?
Personal land
@@millionairefarmer. Ok well you're being nice to the wrong people then lol. If they don't respect your land,.don't let them on. Set clear rules and enforce them. Charge them with tresspassing if necessary. Real hunters like myself don't behave that way and would be happy to help enforce them with you. The rest are criminals and not hunters. No hunter leaves a skull with antlers , especially a decent one behind. That's a poacher. Cameras are cheap to put in areas where they may cut fences and so is having hunters , hunt those areas to watch them for you at the same time. Just saying.dont lump idiots in with the rest of us. Go on some hunting forums and get a group that you like and have them do a cleanup at the end of the year for access as well. The only places you have to allow access is to areas with grazing rights , not your personal land, so no need to get pushed around.
@@Alpha_Orionis_99we aren’t big into denying permission but we have to get a little more serious with understanding the standards some folks
@@millionairefarmer. You bet. Listen to my advice though. No need to do it alone. Plenty of people would be willing to help maintain and enforce some semblance of order. Criminals ruin the image and opportunities for the rest of us and put us in a bad light just because people assume we're one and the same. Best of luck.
Our freezer is 24 years old. Bought it when we bought the farm. Think my folks have one that’s 35 years old. This new junk is frustrating. Since we built the new house 17 years ago, I’ve changed out 4 dish washers and at least three washing machines.
