TEPoP Festival 2023 (4) – Fillings gaps in existing recording and data
During this event, the Terrestrial Surveillance Development and Analysis (TSDA) partnership, consisting of the British Trust for Ornithology, the UK Centre for Hydrology & Ecology, and the JNCC, shared updates on work underway aiming to understand, communicate and reduce scheme bias across the UK. The discussion session which aimed to find ways to solve the barriers to scheme coverage is not included in this recording, but feedback from the session is. Reports from the event will be published here: jncc.gov.uk/our-work/uktepop/

Hello Professor, thank you so much for the excellent lecture. I have a question, for example, I'm working on distance sampling using line-transect. However, in the Himalayan range, I conclude that establishing straight lines is almost impossible due to landscape structure. Do you think should it still be okay if I have a great variation in a transect line in terms of size and wide, sometimes it is up to 1km but in another case only up to 200 m. To your knowledge, Primate is my species of interest. Thanks

Britain is the only Nation to Explore the world in most meaning full way this means to exploit the land resources which USA capture and seized the opportunity without any point of discussion on future earth and environment effects.. After 100 years of industry history all are now alined in such way that climate change is the only problem,to restore the same... Hard-work of unimaginable proportions is needed at every step by every country and nation's .. #G7 ultimate opportunity to make life smooth and adapt them to nature again without extinctions of other species than humans ... Other wise our future is doomed if we continue in same way or if we try to alter the changes they will need very much long time to heal and restore the same but now it seems impossible task given the commitments of Nations is not improving the mother nature.. And the nature's force is no visible to everyone be it humans or any other species. #Climate has been effected by #humanChanges ...it means its not right word #climatechange -it is human change causing Environmental Disruption. To become ultra rich Humans they need more energy sources to give environment nothing just papers that to made with tress.... On paper's climate change is significant.. But the money they made..or what make them developed nations ...more money influx.,no environment policies to promote...only money they are worried about not environment things coming day by day in their way... And removing them to stall major projects #G7

Great presentation of the basics of space-based Earth observation! Really the best explanation I have seen/heard! I have one comment concerning the definition of Earth observation and that is that per definition Earth observation includes all types of observations of the planet, including in-situ or ground-based. Copernicus data is also validated and calibrated with in-situ, but of course it is even better to have more in-situ to improve the accuracy and interpretations of the satellite (space-based) data. I would love to connect with you to discuss making your data even easier to discover and invite you to a global community around Earth observation (NextGEOSS, NextEOS and the Group on Earth observation.
