Buddha and arahats(disciple buddhas) were those who achieved getting rid of Greed, Anger, and delusion. By definition, they are good. Boddhisattva and divine protectors are not necessarily good on the other hand. Original Boddhisattva are would-be buddha. There were two such Pusas, baby buddha Maitreya and certain Nepalese Shakya price who became gottama buddha. However, later Buddhism schools declared many powerful kings, queeen, feudal lords, hindu gods, chinese gods as Boddhisatvas, "wanna-be Buddhas" who vowed to achieve Buddhahood (wish!!!). These new bodhisattvas and dharma protectors are generally good, but there is no guarantee that they will always do good. God King aka Indra aka Jade Emperor aka Zeus was dharma protector (i.e. the one who protect the stability, protect weak and judge the wicked) but he was more than willing to crash anyone who attempted to dethrone him. He won't mind using shady methods either. BTW, that was what wukong did in havoc in heaven episode, attempt to overthrow the god king. And the god king would use all shady methods available to crash him since wukong quit being a Buddhist monk. It is lore correct. Meanwhile , baby buddha shows no anger or any bad sentiments when pigsy hit his head despite his rank much much higher than Bajie, an altar boy. As for farming yaoguais for golden pills, that is more or less the same as what meat industry is doing business in real world. If the yaoguai core can increase primodial Qi according to modern Xian Xia lore, there would be yaoguai farming gods naturally.

Right on. I appreciate your comment. Yes, he is quite complicated. To your point about chapter 3 being one of your favorites, I think it is presented in the most unique way. After the boss fight with Kang Jin Loong, when we fall through the ice, the chapter really gets going and it leaves us uncertain of what is really happening because of how off putting the Pagoda Realm is. It was my favorite chapter of the game.

Appreciate your comment, I think it could be argued both ways with several different supporting factors to support each argument. Yes he created an ASI and played with the human genome to destroy humanity twice... haha (facepalm for Adam). I do think there is merit to saying he is being antagonized by Mother Sphere though, as once he is presented in the game, he is trying to makeup for his misdeeds.

I think we could get answers from the Keeper of Black Wind Mountain and Bodhisattva Lingji, as they are the ones that teach the Destined One his spell moves. If you are correct and it is tied to the idea of him being Wukong's clones, then Lingji would hold knowledge of this because wasn't he the one that taught the Destined One the pluck of many in chapter 2?

I really think we could have gotten a lot more in flashback scenes. It seemed like flashbacks were going to be a thing early on in the game (EVE having a flashback to when Adam saved her from the Unlisted Naytiba on his hoverbike), but perhaps a lot was cut due to budget, as flashbacks weren't really used much at all after those in the beginning of the game. But yes, I agree, getting more on Adam / Raphael Marks would have helped serve the story much more.

That was so cool seeing Nezha in the chapter 5 animation. They could really make some cool DLC or sequel content by exploring more of the celestial world. Got me very excited.

A bit ignorant to claim SB is the only game that's given this much content for free post-patch. This game hasn't even touched Dying Light in that regard, let alone whatever else is out there.

You are right. They are giving a lot of free content and updates. I feel that is the best way forward for developers nowadays as season passes and life service game promises are generally not liked by the gaming community. I'm glad at how Shift Up is doing things. I think the first post-launch content that will cost $ will be the nier automata mashup dlc.

Nominations come out on November 13, we'll see. Black Myth Wukong had their own "issues" right before launch that have similarities to Stellar Blade, but I'm almost certain that Black Myth will get a GOTY nomination. That game was simply way too big to be ignored. We'll see about Stellar Blade thought. Would be nice, but I agree with you in that it most likely will not get a GOTY nomination.

I think this could be explored more in sequels with the Destined one now being aware of the Elder Monkey. In the Elder Monkey's portrait information, it is stated he is thought to be many things/people, but the first is stated that he is Guanyin. That would be awesome to see this revealed in DLC or a sequel, then see the ramifications of this in a new quest by the Destined One.

Wow, your comment is spot on about several things. Great post. Yes, I agree, once it goes to PC, we can expect to see some great mods. Very curious what the PC community can do with Stellar Blade there. Yea, what happened with both games before launch was, in my opinion, messed up. I do think both studios - Shift Up and Game Science - handled things to the best of their abilities. I like your thoughts about what categories they should be nominated for. I do think Black Myth Wukong should get a GOTY nomination. If Jeff Keighley doesn't give that game a GOTY nomination, I think it's a bad look. I know the arguments of why it most likely will not receive one, but honestly, that game was too big to ignore. For Stellar Blade, I agree with your categories, and I think it'll win best soundtrack for sure.

All good games. If you're into RE2, playing as Jill in RE3 remake was fun but that game was super. short. Ada's story in the alternate path story of RE4 remake was pretty good too.

@@unlistednaytiba I've finished RE4 last week - including the dlc. I found the dlc even better than the main game. It had the better horror moments and the grappling hook made combat and exploration more fun. I also bought RE3 on release day - but I've yet to finish it. ^^

You are correct in that the original form of Orcal has to be an android. I have another video explaining the exact timeline of events of Stellar Blade, but the main thing to bring proof to your final sentence is that when the Naytiba outbreak occurred and Naytiba infected earth, Andro-Eidos were living on earth as "humanity." Naytiba had already replaced organic humans with Andro-Eidos. Raphael Marks (Adam) fled Abyss Levoire and was now guilty of causing genocide twice with his creation of Mother Sphere then with his creation of Naytiba. In his guilt, he seeked to atone and wanted to right his wrongs. He started to realize he needed to experiment on Andro-Eidos humans so while the Final War was going on, he tried his first attempt at fusion with an Andro-Eidos human (Orcal). It failed (this is stated in the ecological information in the game's menu), and so Adam turned Orcal into the first Alpha Naytiba. The final war was still going on, so as an Alpha, Orcal slaughtered many Andro-Eidos humans. Then the evacuation happened which led to the Colony Extinction. The modules fell on Orcal and some surviving Andro-Eidos humans found and saved him.

Never played any dark souls games, but just googled it and went down a rabbit hole. haha. Nice comment.

In the super short trailer, it's hard to tell if the sword is hovering behind EVE's back like it does on 2B's back in Nier. And then to your other question, if you look at the title card at the end of the trailer, you can see some of the Nier Automata universe stuff in the Eidos 7, such as the ferris wheel. I'm thinking the DLC is going too have some wild story explanation of the universes colliding. I think it's going to be more than simply re-skins of the Stellar Blade universe. Hopefully we get some more preview info soon.

Nah, he's clearly in opposition side of Wukong. The way he told Bajie and Destined One about Wukong's past, you can really see how he never agree with Wukong. Also there's no reason for him to trap Destined One whether he's worthy or not by putting the band directly on his head like that. He pretty much was faking it as the 6th relic.

Well, in the portrait information, it states some people believe the Old Monkey is Guanyin. It does say people thing he is other things/people, but Guanyin is who is stated first. That's who I'm going with. Loved reading your comment - have a good one.

I agree. I imagine the direction for the voice actors was providing but it just didn't connect or carry over into the animation well. Take Adam for example. I'm guessing the direction given to the actor was something like, "make his voice sound strained, and remember that he feels guilty for his past actions." When listening to Adam, you can hear that tone and strain in his voice, but it wasn't the best overall. I definitely think Shift Up will iterate on things for the sequel tho.

@@unlistednaytiba What people from one language and dialect would consider intense another group might find it to be bland and a lifeless performance. I see a lot of delivery similarities from Adam's English voice actor to Samus Aran's voice actor from Metroid Other M. What Japan thought was a more stoic line delivery turned out to be taken as winy and weak from an English speaking standpoint.

A little bit of humanity gained from everyone in EVE's life on earth. In terms of Raven, I think the big takeaway is that EVE sees the humanity lost in her and also Raven had a lack of others to provide her with humanity and support. But EVE gets that from her relationship with the people of the game.
