I liked this one. It’s probably not something I’d watch multiple times but, it worked overall for me. Definitely agree with Nicolas Hoults performance.

Warner Bros should sue the writer/director. He took the company for a ride. Todd Phillips straight up swindled WB.
I’m one of the few that enjoyed it. The music is definitely different than the typical musical. I like courtroom dramas as well. It was nothing like the first and it felt unique to me. I wonder if it gets a cult following later down the road.
@@RavensOsFan89 I liked it more than I Thought I would. If anything. I think the movie is over-hated. I didn’t say it well in the video, but I would have liked the movie more if the songs were more memorable. That’s what I really want in a musical.
Yeah I agree with you this was not very good at all. Agreed that it was MIs marketed and I think that’s why it just turned many off. It’s not really funny at all, there’s no horror and it seems like a never ending nightmare of this woman annoying us all on screen. On the other hand her acting is pretty solid. It’s still a pretty bad script.
Yeah dude, I went in not knowing that it was a horror-comedy, so the "humor" really surprised me lol. But I did like the acting and the look of the movie. The filming reminded me of Hereditary.

So glad to see this balanced and thoughtful review! I agree with you that Eggers best film is The VVitch, and I think his most interesting is The Lighthouse (but with flawed execution). I did not enjoy The Northmen, and I was very mild on Nosferatu for a lot of the reasons you touched on. There's nothing wrong with slow build horror films, but this movie too often flirted with or outright went into SLOG territory. Honestly, I'd rather watch Johnny walking through the woods for half of In a Violent Nature than to re-watch portions of this film, haha. Also, I found some of the scenes/acting to border on camp in their overtheatrics. I'm glad people enjoyed this movie, but it's very middle of the pack for horror movies released this year in my opinion.
Hey there! Thank you so much for commenting. I’m right along with everything you said, save for seeing The Northmen. I did like Nosferatu, but not as much as I was hoping too. I’m still an Eggers fan and I can’t wait to see his next film. I’m glad more people are liking Nosferatu rather than not. I’m a philosophy guy, and The Lighthouse is an awesome philosophical-horror film. I’d give it an A to A+, but I left the movie wanting more scares. That seems silly for such a thinking movie, but I just felt teased on the “horror” elements. I appreciate your comment, and I’m glad to find some people feel the same way!
Its a gothic horror movie, it comes with the territory. Its not going to be for everyone because the average moviegoer attention span is TikTok attention span, but I think its well worth it. Id argue the Witch was more dragged out and slow feeling.
Hey, thank you for commenting! For me, The Witch didn't waste any time and was solely focused on the one thing it was trying to do. Nosferatu felt like it was juggling a lot more, and was trying to be more than just a gothic-horror movie. And somewhere in this balancing act is where I think the movie is just "good." I'm probably sounding harsher than I am on it, because I did like Nosfertu. But I wanted to love it. I know what you are saying about TikTok, but I definitely don't have that problem. Dune 2 was my favorite movie of last year, and Dune 2 is longer than Nosferatu.
@talknchet I mean I can see where you're coming from for sure. I'm biased as hell because 1. Love Eggers and anything he does 2. I've desperately wanted a true Gothic horror done by a strong director, and I felt like he delivered on it. His attention to making things powerful period pieces continues to impress me. I still think the Lighthouse is my favorite of his works though. Hard to beat that one. I'm glad you did enjoy it!
Robert Eggers rules, and I would be happy rewatching any of his movies. I still have yet to see The Northman though.

@talknchet Oh yes. I enjoyed it very well. I don't know if you saw movie called "Shadow of the Vampire" but "Nosferatu" have funny Easter egg about it. Willem Dafoe played Count Orlock then and there is a scene where he is drinking schnapps with two German film makers (movie itself is a well..very dark comedy about making an original Nosferatu. Murnau was played by John Malkovich) In new film prof. Albin played by Dafoe is offering schnapps to his guests with a smile in his face. I found it hilarious. Btw sorry for my writing but English is not my first language
@@Robert-tu6di You explained it well! Your English is correct. I have not seen Shadow of the Vampire, but I'm a big fan of Dafoe and I will watch a movie if he is in it. I know the original Nosferatu has interesting history to it, and I'm interested in Shadow Of The Vampire now. I remember the schnapps scene in the new Nosferatu. Thank you for telling me about this! I'll see if I can watch it soon, and then I'll rewatch Nosferatu.

Solid review, those 9 minutes pretty much flew by. Sad to hear that the flick wasn't as good as Eggers' other ones, although I personally like The Lighthouse the most and thought The Northman was pretty weak, so we definitely differ there and maybe also on this new one... at least one can hope, lol. I'm in agreement here - a great album, one of my very favorites this year. My one disagreement would be "Are You Mine?". I like that one, especially after her hearing the story of what it's about (Her Mother has Alzheimer's and one day asked Kim this question).
I know I gave it a B+, but I'll probably move it up to A, because it has grown on me. I didn't know that story behind "Are You Mine?" and I appreciate you sharing that. I will listening closer to the song next time around with that in mind. It's still not one of my favorites, but I do like it more now. "Come Running" is the only one I'm not that big on, and even it's not that bad. Just weird. This is one of my favorite albums this year too, and I'm glad you like it a lot to. Kim deservers more listeners.

I know, I'm a real piece of chet sometimes.
A couple of thoughts: 1. It is somewhat perverse to criticise a solo artist for not being supported by virtuoso musicians. 2. In so far as the album can be categorised at all, what isn't Synthpop is broadly Metalcore or Nu Metal. If you don't like those, you won't like the album. The heaviest track is "The Center's Falling Out" -- so it is surprising that you didn't mention it.
Thank you for checking out my video and commenting. To clarify, my criticism is that if I go into this album as a metal album, I don't really get what I want out of it. It is a mixed genre album, and it's fun, but I'll only go to this album if I'm in a specific mood. It is pretty good for that mood.

Lol, did not expect to hear Ben Shapiro mentioned here. Funnily enough I remember hearing his thoughts on rap music when I was in my teens - and though I was pretty hooked on the whole right-wing surge at that point, I still thought he sounded stupid and willfully ignorant with that specific take. Good to hear that you broadened your horizons when it comes to music, there's definitely cool shit to be found across the board, so no point in limitng yourself. Hope both you, Missy and Rozzy are all doing well!

In my experience (from petting hundreds of cats I've met at random outdoor places), it's quite common that cats love to be petted but then out of the blue give you a "love bite" or attack you with their claws, and a few seconds later want to get petted again.
