    I love the idea of a weeks for house decluttering. I’m also thinking things like deep cleaning, paper purging, phone apps and photo clean up, photo organizing, email in box clean up and all of those jobs that I want to complete but I haven’t ever build out a plan and system for it. I love your idea of setting a timer to get after it. When the timer ends I could keep going or just have that “permission” to stop so I don’t have to fear sliding down a rabbit hole and forget everything else I need to do in the day.

    • @sherbidabbles

      Those are all great specific ideas that I’m going to write down. And just “15 minutes” of doing email clean up, for instance. Even if it’s just 15 minutes a day, it’s more than I’m doing now! Thanks for those. Keep ‘em coming too. I really hope I stick to it. I have way too much shit 😂

    I feel you on the migraines! My biggest triggers, besides stress, is too much sleep, too little sleep, and when there are big weather changes in a short amount of time. I can lose days to the migraine if I don’t take care of it at the first sign of my head hurting. A couple years ago I was told to take a Benadryl when I take the excedrine, and that is an absolute game changer. I’ll usually take 2 excedrine migraine pills and 1 Benadryl and try to get an hour or so of sleep once I feel the Benadryl hitting, and by the time I wake up my head feels much better, just a little tired for the rest of the day, but that’s better than an ice pick to the head lol. I call it my migraine cocktail.

    • @sherbidabbles
      @sherbidabbles 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      🥹🥹🥹 thank you so much for this! I am still new to taking migraine meds and the first time I took it, it was only after crying for a while and calling a friend (seasoned with meds). I still hesitate - “is it a migraine or a headache?” I think I end up waiting too long for the triptans to work 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have Benadryl on hand so I am definitely going to try this. And you’re right about the rapid weather changes. I notice that too. In September, I started tracking allergens and barometric pressure and temp to see if those could somehow help me make migraine predictions. I didn’t notice any patterns though. Have you ever had an infusion?

    I got the sand and even though it’s so nice it does get dirty easy and I like the feel of it so much that I don’t want to cover it. So I try not to let it bother me and adds to character of the planner

      @sherbidabbles 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love the feel of it too - I didn’t even think about the dirty factor. I have been hemming and hawing about a cover. Same for the weekly I have in the same color. I have a Sterling Ink in tweed and feel absolutely okay with that with no cover. Also feels good. Not as smooth as this but a nice grippy sort of texture.

    I totally get what you’re saying about things not becoming habitual after 6 months, same here. I think it’s because I am ADHD for focus (when I was little I was called a daydreamer LOL) and looking back as a speech pathologist, I responded to minimal cues for focus.

      I’m ADHD too! If you didn’t notice. 😂 I need to change things up but sometimes wish I could stick to one thing. What does “responded to minimal cues for focus” mean? I’m curious if this is something that could help me or my son.

      @ sorry, I’m a speech/language pathologist and that is a way that we describe how our patients or students respond. Minimal cues might include using a gesture to get them back on track, part of a word, small gesture, e.g., pointing, pointing to your eyes to indicate watch what you’re doing, softly tapping lightly on a page or the table to get focus back when your attention wanders, etc. Hope that helps (and yes, I try to catch myself, especially when working on paperwork or housework

    I love both of these, I prefer the grid inside of the boxes. I like the covers of the Hobonichi weeks but I was so freed to get into a Sterling ink so that the quote space was mine. I find the Horizontal layout great for journaling/health and the vertical for actual planning

    • @sherbidabbles
      @sherbidabbles 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes! If I were a “normal” planner, the vertical would be great but I tend to write things out. Using those back pages for recreating other planner layouts is super handy. A little frustrating when I mess up but what are you gonna do? 🤷🏻‍♀️🥸🫠

  • @briwinter5098

    The disadvantage of Kinbor is the fact that they don't keep their designs constant. For a couple of years I used and loved the Kinbor A5 Avec but since 2024 they do not have them anymore. So I had to switch back to Hobonichi at least for journaling. As I bulk my journal up a lot the Avec is a must have. For planning I still use the Kinbor A5, as well as the Kinbor Weeks as EDC. There is a bound version of the Kinbor out as well, similar to the HON. I don't know if Kinbor has a Sunday start version, though. The paper - at least till this year - is quite good and fountain pen friedly. I have not tested the paper of next year's batch yet. And I heard that the undated Kinbor planners might have appalling paper, at least they had some years ago. The bookmarks are new, by the way.

    • @sherbidabbles
      @sherbidabbles หลายเดือนก่อน

      Excellent! Thank you for adding all these extra details! It really helps. It’s too bad they don’t stay consistent in layout and available options. I’d personally find the challenge to adapt a little fun (maybe frustrating too) but only because the price is low enough to deal with it. Now if Hobonichi wasn’t consistent, that would be worse. 🥴 Thanks so much for taking time to offer this extra info about Kinbor. I appreciate it!

  • @qingwawangzi

    I've recently been getting into the planner life (due to hectic university schedules) and I love your videos! The details you go into and the way you structure and describe the planners are super helpful for someone like me who's on a tight budget and would like to know if a more expensive planner is worth the investment 😊 the only thing about the Hobonichi (even in Weeks) that kinda throw me off are the quotes that take up quite a lot of space, but I also like the darker ink and cream colour (the Kinbor's print looks lighter on camera at least). Currently in a dilemma right now! 😂

    • @sherbidabbles
      @sherbidabbles หลายเดือนก่อน

      So - I do think the Hobonichi is definitely worth the investment, but so far, I also think the Kinbor can do the job without having to invest all that $$ in the Hobonichi. You know what I mean? I do not regret splurging on my Hobonichis for 2024. They’re great. But I sure am glad I have cheaper alternatives for options. I have found only the Hobonichi weeks has cream color paper. It seems the rest are more on the white side with slight variations. Also, I do think when side by side the Hobonichi is darker. But when looked at individually, the Kinbor doesn’t appear too light. Does that make sense? They each stand up pretty well on their own. I think there’s a point in the video when I say the Kinbor is darker but I think I was meaning to say the gray box. I’m honestly not sure and have to rewind and look again 🫠. I caught that when I was editing. In the end, they’re both solid options. I’m glad I decided to try the A6 Kinbor for next year (and the weeks and A5) because I could not afford more Hobonichis, especially without having a solid plan on how to use them. Kinbor is going to make me happy, I think. Now let’s see how they hold up over the year! Come back and tell me what you decide. If you use them, I think you’ll be happy either way (unless you’re like me and keep wondering what the other option would have been like 🤦🏻‍♀️ I do that all the time and it makes me nuts).

    I learned that the Bachuan paper used in Kinbors is also Japanese made, with Bachuan labeled the “generic” version of Tomoe River Paper. (Note that Tomoe River Paper is now produced by Sanzen and not Tomoegawa Paper Company. “While often mentioned together, "Bachuan paper" is essentially a generic term referring to a type of paper very similar to "Tomoe River paper," both originating from Japan and known for their extremely smooth, thin, and bleed-resistant qualities, making them ideal for fountain pen writing; however, "Tomoe River" is a specific brand name produced by the Tomoegawa Paper Company, considered the gold standard for this style of paper due to its consistent quality and performance.”

    From the Hobonichi website: Techo (pronounced “tetch-oh”) is a Japanese word for a planner notebook. I guess Kinbor is just banking on the popularity of the term for their own products.
