This cultural appropriation must stop. The only combat sports it's acceptable for a wyt person to pursue is boxing or wrestling. Respect culture, don't appropriate, especially if you are wyt. Wytz are naturally taller and stronger than Thais, this gives them an unfair advantage purely because of genes over which they had no choice. No wyt earned their genes, they got them by luck. Stealing the sport of a shorter, physically weaker people and then competing in THEIR events is appropriation and institutional racism in the first degree. Sickening.

It's selection bias. A foreigner in Thailand doing Muay Thai is serious enough about it to travel away from their home country. A Thai person in Thailand might just live down the street from a gym and try it out for fun.

Most foreigners do muay thai by passion whereas most thai fighters do it because their family forced them to.

Interesting I thought they look down on us "farangs". I was in Phuket last week and watched fights at Patong boxing stadium. Was surprised to see >50% of fighters coming out of USA, Irland, France, Turkey etc... And they were good! 4 out of 7 fights ended by KO

If you want to feel like shit do 15 years of Muay Thai. Cut the glam and you got days where you been teeped to point where you just auto shit after a fight, mix in with blood, i dont wanna know what my insides look like.

From my experience being in Thailand, foreigners tend to win many of the low level fights since we have come here for the sole purpose of Muay Thai, and many Thais treat fights with the sincerity of a football match. High level there are very few foreigners that can keep up to speed with the Thais imo

This is true, I coach, and fight, in Thailand and myself and my farang fighters get treated very well by promotors etc.

Still i havnt seen no foreign beter then rodtang or tawanchai

Sexpats are using the Muay Thai to exploit the visa so they can stay there longer

Swear to God one of you are on drugs or something. ATM 56 on FIGHTPASS...the commentating was anything but enjoyable. Tall skinny guy was a bitch the whole card...he was laughing waaaayyyyy too much at stupid shit he acted like a child with his commentating partner. I like absolute Muay Thai but the skinny drug addict bitch has to go!
