Spot on! 👆
A few seconds before landing... it's terrible!
This is so tragic.
Well said, Geoffrey!
Could not agree more Geoffrey. The amount of absolute bull crap that is being spewed is beyond belief. And all being done, not in the interest of safety, but to create political capital. I'm heartbroken and sickened. No leadership.
Geoffrey does nice job on CNN usually keeps it real
Another plane just fell out of the sky after takeoff in Philadelphia
And it looks like it was already in flames as it fell nearly vertical.
Well serveral things are certain. - The CRJ was NOT at 200ft - The Helo confirmed visual on "A" plane. It's quite obvious that if they had a visual on said plane you wouldnt fly straight towards it. Therefore, its likely they were looking at the outbound flight from runway 1. - The ATC controller did not use specific verbiage like, do you have a visual on the CRJ "Inbound" or "on short final" to runway 33.
Geoffrey you are quite right, we need to see the 3D trajectories and attitudes of all three aircraft in the sky at the time and the UH60 - that rules out and rules in all potential explanations. Then we work from there, figuring out what changes are needed to VFR separation procedures.
are you going to try and tell me, out of the million cctv cameras esp in that area..that no decent HD footage has been put forward...so obvious the official story is a croc..
@@TheUrantia001 there is new footage which we will post today
@@geoffreythomas-on-air okay will check it out...ta much
where is the wreckage of the helo?...many witnesses claim they never saw any Helo..
@@TheUrantia001 new footage shows it clearly
You can clearly see from this video that the helicopter ran right into that plane ✈️ there was no reason for that to happen that helicopter pilot was to blame
3 pair of eyes watching porn instead of traffic... Mil exempt itself from having commerical radio to communicate on commercial flight frequencies...
0:45 Technicality, I believe it was flight AA5342, not 5432.
Thanks Ron. Will correct!
The chopper pilot must have been confused by too much traffic. I wonder if the the final report will say anything else. Edit: I just learned the helicopter should not have been above 200 feet, but had climbed to 350 ft when collision occurred.
Why don’t don’t you just keep the debris and have independent sources do a report on the wreckage found. Keep handing it over to the same people with no results makes absolutely no sense. Very strange
What are helicopters doing anywhere near a runway? And at that height? If the need to patrol the area the can do it in a humvee ffs!
Thank you for the info
Isn't Mauritius pretty much on the way to the SIO ?
You need to go on a sun holiday. I've seen fish with more colour than you!
Yes need to get the lighting right.....
good crisp report ... thanx
OMG ! RIP to all, pilots, crew members and passengers 😞
Was it intentional?
Almost looks like the chopper intended to hit the plane!
This is not correct. TCAS is reliant on an aircraft’s transponder broadcast, not on ADSB Out. Military aircraft often turn off ADSB. It has nothing to do with generating a TCAS TA or RA. In no way is the TCAS “totally dependent” on an ADSB signal.
Thanks for the clarification and yes you are right and we have corrected. Appreciate your feedback.
Thank you. Wasn’t trying to be abrasive but wanted to let you know as the implication was pretty significant.
@@matthewschwegel4071 Not at all. Really appreciate your help and now writing script for an update and correction.
so sad for all concerned, prayers to all
finally a short and accurate description of why this happened, helicopter pilot error
Smells fishy to me.
Why is a military helicopter flying anywhere near an approach patern of comercial aircraft airport?
you got it
DC has incredibly strict flight paths due to 9/11. The airport and the base are both right there and they have to share the same airspace.
It's not unusual for aircraft out of Joint Base Bolling to have ADS-B disabled. Not sure helpful it would have been here, as TCAS doesn't work the same way under 1000ft. It doesn't give you a Resolution Advisory. Instead all RAs are inhibited below 1000ft and you're just warned of traffic, you aren't told to climb or descend. Regardless, the RJ was no doubt aware of the traffic in the area (there always is), but the helicopter was probably on a different frequency from them. The RJ crew probably had their hands full, and were trusting ATC as they flew a "circle-to-land" approach to 33. ATC was on the ball, you can hear in the radio transmissions that they advised the helicopter about the the RJ. ATC can be heard asking the he helicopter (PAT25) if he had visual it, and then told to pass behind it. The helicopter said he had it in sight and acknowledged ATC. Maybe he confused it with the background light (there's a ton of it) or he was looking at another jet taking off from Reagan at that time. We'll probably have to wait for the NTSB preliminary report to get a better idea. JMO, but pilots who regularly fly into Reagan are superheros in my mind, as are the Air Traffic Controllers there.
I guess I'm a exhero. Spent 2019 flying a right seat on the FAA shuttle flight from ACY to headquarters in DC. I guarantee that the last ten minutes on approach were full of, ""Did you get that copter?" And that was only half the adventure. Friday night out of DC with a full boat on 33/15 was a game of beat the clock ahead of all the RJ's trying to get out on the long runway.
Thanks for the feedback....appreciate your insights. We have corrected our video.
This smells, something not 'right' - Anyone of interest on that American Airlines flight ??
So far all we're hearing is figure skaters.
@@wintercame I heard there were top Russians in that - Were they defected Russians ?? That makes it even more suspicious.
@@dad1ipms They were retired skaters who came to train and live in the US. Their son, a competitive skater might have been on the flight with them, not sure. Not the stuff of espionage (imo.)
Chopper training mission is suspicious.
You think they're born with knowledge of how to fly? This is the source of most conspiracy theories. lack of knowledge by and stupid speculation by a moron.
I enjoyed watching. I like how he mentioned the old days of anticipating what type of aircraft you’ll be travelling on. Thanks for sharing Sam’s insights. 🛫
change of the path from that helicopter it's like they are targeting the commercial aircraft.
Seems more like an intentional collision from the helicopter. they are exactly in the direction of the final approach of the aircraft.
I certainly hope that upcoming budget cuts don't affect airline safety.
Dont you ready you messages my daddy worls for jandakot airport so im not taliking rubish i speak the truth, wheather you like it or not NO WHOLE PLANE THEY KEPT IT TITE DIDNT THEY SECERETS NOW ILL BRINGING IT ALL OUT THATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND I,I FOUND THE COCKPIT AND ALOT OF PATHS AND ALOT OF PIECES LISTERN TO ME WORLD MY LOCAL MEMEBER OF PARLIMENT SAID I FOUND SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT 🎉😮YES ITS ALL AT MARISUS ,REUNION , MADAGASCAR,SOUTH AFRICA,INDIAN OCEAN,SOUTHERN ,FRENCH GLACIER,ALREADY DOWN AND ALREADY HEADING UP THERE AT THE PASIFIC OCEAN HOW I NO I GOT THERE FACES SO THERE,YOUS WILL ALL SEE,A CRASH INVESTORGATOR GE IS HES LOOKING FOR A WHOLE PLANE NO MORE GOT IT
Interesting. Thanks for the video.
mac as in big mac?😊
4200 NM? So no transpacific flights. What is the market for these?
A new Concorde ... I remember when I worked at CDG 1 airport, 1981-1986, 11AM every day, the supersonic departiuure to JFK, unforgettable. have a nice day Geoffrey, all the best Didier
AIrliners were flying at high ground speeds. They were flying at normal airspeeds. Airspeed (or more correctly mach number) is what determines sub or supersonic, not ground speead.
It's always amazed me that the Concorde started flying over 50 years ago (1969) but after it stopped flying nothing has yet replaced it. Great stuff!
If boom goes well, could the Boeing sonic cruiser make a comeback? (the plane that would fly just below the sound barrier.)
Storm Owen it's pronounced I believe
I actually looked it up to check. So perhaps my internet source differs from yours….
👍
Need to find this plane. Need to know for sure if this was aircraft failure. There's thousands of these planes flying. Its unrealistic it was pilot induced. If you wanna die you don't need to fly until you run out of fuel to kill yourself
Any airline that can actually figure out how to make economy bearable will ultimately win. On another note, I don't see Boeing recovering anytime soon, but, like you, hope they do.
Probably one of the big takeaways from this accident is that rules must be changed so that the CVR and Data recorders are always powered regardless of the aircraft electrical configuration and this has to be done on ALL airliners regardless of year of production
@@340ACP agree!
Well maybe the FAA will issue an AD on 2010 and earlier B737 models to have the APU operational during all landings if not take-off and landings to then eliminate that potential situation from reoccurring.
