Welcome to Craig's Channel. If you are into old mechanical stuff and DIY projects you've come to the right place. This channel features updates on the supercharged 1938 MG TA special race car, other car projects, and a mix of other interests like full size and scale live steam locomotives and railroading, vintage apple peelers, mining ore cars, and anything else that seems interesting. As a professional musician, I enjoy restoring old drums and cymbals so you might see some music content too. In addition, I occasionally take on restoration projects for customers so I'll share those. Lastly, I own and operate Pacific Journal Pac LLC, the last US maker of axle journal lubricating pads for vintage plain bearing railroad locomotives and railcars, so I'll occasionally post content related to that business.
Train Mountain Tour Part 4: Let's ride a ballast train up the hill. See description to follow map
We received a call from a track crew who needed ballast (rock) so we assembled a train. We used a gas-hydraulic locomotive (one Honda power unit powers the hydraulics under two locomotive frames), three ballast cars, and a rider car for the conductor (me).

I found a cow skull in a compost pile and decided to clean it up for display. The flesh was already consumed, and in fact the maggots already completed their life cycle and metamorphosed into flies and were long gone. Here is a quick DIY on recharging a spray oil can that is out of propellant but still has product inside. Attempt at your own risk only if you have the skill and knowledge to do it safely. Use proper personal protective equipment, and be careful not to exceed can pressure recommendations which could vary by manufacturer.

In this video I test the new injector on the "Poke" 7.5" gauge live steamer in preparation for the Operations Meet at Train Mountain Railroad. I had some issues during the test fire-ups at home so the steamer can't go if I don't sort it out in time!
