Route 66 Original Section and Bridge From 1920's Devil's Elbow, Missouri
Snippet of our Route 66 trip. A little loop left over from 1926 in Missouri that crosses a 1923 bridge still in use. The route was developed in the 1920's by linking different roads from Chicago to Los Angeles. Since then, the oldest sections have been bypassed by newer routes and then the Interstates.

Rescued Rabbit Bun Bun and Jealous Cat Stanley
มุมมอง 13014 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
A large rabbit can be a good companion for a cat. Make sure your rabbit is spayed or neutered and it's best to have a large floor pen for your bunny. Letting them out to interact with your cat should be done when you are home. Keep your cat's claw tips clipped so they aren't sharp. Adopting a rabbit that is about 8 plus pounds is a good choice. Remember, DON'T BUY....ADOPT FROM A SHELTER OR RES...
Homemade Turtle Tank Filter Only Needs Cleaning ONCE A YEAR
มุมมอง 32214 วันที่ผ่านมา
A homemade skippy filter needs cleaning once a year. No odors at all if the filter is shut off every night and only run during the day. This has two benefits it lets the bacteria on the filter material get air and that seems to keep the bacteria healthy.
Rescued Cats Stoned On Catnip Sunday Afternoon Zone Fest
มุมมอง 1.4K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Our rescues have a little fresh catnip from the garden while it's still green and growing before the really cold weather sets in. Fresh catnip is good for a cat's digestion, but only give them tender leaves and stems, never the tough, mature stems or they are likely to vomit them up.
Tiki Room From Junk Making Paintings For Garbage Frames PART 3

Someone was throwing out two ugly wall hangings. I salvaged them, ripped them apart, cleaned the outer parts, threw out the inner parts and painted my own insert scenes on scrap wood coated in left over white exterior house paint. I tried to make them look like a vintage paint by number. Here they are finished.

Breeding Dwarf African Frogs Accidental Eggs to Adults in A Cake Pan

Videotape from 2009 when my son brought two frogs home from a fourth grade science unit. We had quite an interesting experience when they spawned that evening, probably because they were in deeper water than in the classroom. The offspring grew up in a cake pan with a 40 watt desk lamp for heat.

Saving A Tarantula Off The Road Palo Duro Canyon, Texas

Saving A Tarantula Off The Road Palo Duro Canyon, Texas
Prior to establishment of the Federal highway system in 1926, states had their own systems. This was originally MO 14, which became US 66 in November, 1926. This road was used as US 66 until 1942, when the new, four-lane 66 with the Hooker Cut, reducing a major incline to more manageable levels, opened. The better roads were needed with the creation of Fort Leonard Wood, still a major training facility for the Army, which opened in 1940. Both roads are still open.
That sign is wrong. It should say SHORT ton. A ton there is only 907KG. It’s extremely dangerous to use that defunct system as for the rest of the world a ton is 1000 kg. If a 16-tonner drove over that bridge would collapse.
Those aren't metric measures on those signs. Wikipedia - United States customary system - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_customary_units
@ the adopted system in the US is the metric. Done many decades ago. It’s an international standard. Anyway you guys stick with old deprecated system. It’s gonna end in horror some day. But yeah. I guess the us want to isolate itself totally anyway so it probably won’t matter.
We don't use metrics as a general rule in the US. Certainly not in the 1920's. There was a movement in the 1970's, and was only partially successful. A ton here remains 2,000 pounds.
Rabbits make great pets. They are intelligent, sociable, entertaining, love attention, and can be litterbox trained.
So darn adorable they are. Oliver and Otis are a hoot and Stanley seems so chill.
Hard to see if your rabbit has an eye problem when they have black hair.
I have a cat who came to me as a feral and who is now the sweetest , most lovable cat I’ve ever had. A year later he’s still an outdoor cat because I have an indoor cat who is not fond of the one I domesticated. Do you have any advice on how I could bring him in the house to live peacefully with my other cat? Is it true that some cats who grew up as ferals will not want to be inside all the time and will try to get out? Also, any advice on moving with outside cats?
Belle tortue Félicitations BRAVO ❤❤❤
thanx for helping all the sweeties. have a lovely day today with lots of love and joy.
I love this lady and her good work. I do not need to listen to her prattling on and on. I know what feral means. Don't need a ten minute puppet show.
Thank you for this video. I also loves the names you've chosen.
Kitty drug dealer! 😾😂
Ginger females are very rare! she's a little cuty, I hope she adapts! My Giuseppee Puss is an 18 year old ginger tabby, we have been friends since he was born, he loves his catnip! he has some catnip toys also, but I have to keep them in a cupboard and just get them out periodically.
Bless you for taking care of the cats
🙏🙏🙏😻😻😻
Thank you for supporting Aggie's life. Never give up, we all can get snotty now and then. ❤
What about Bugz?
on the nip I see. having fun with friends during the weekend. good for them and what a nice place to live
I'm glad they were all rescued! Stanley is such a handsome man, they are all gorgeous cats <3 Bun Bun too lol
I have a female “semi feral” cat. She was born outside and my neighbors had her fixed after her first liter. Her mom was a neighbor hood feral (with one eye). The neighbors feed her but she wouldn’t come inside. She became attached to me and started following me inside so I eventually moved her in. It was easy but still a chore. Her first night staying inside she squawled until I gave up and let her out. It’s been over a year and she still prefers to poop outside but she’s mostly an indoor cat now and my baby.
Thank you for the tips and super awesome cat videos...! I have a little tortie or calico, not sure whats the diff? She loves hissing at me so I call her Sassy, been feeding her wet, now dry and she is so hungry she eats the dry right up someone told me once you go wet food thats all they want. I am leaving next week so my mom is coming to feed her I want to do the catch and release to have her spayed, treated, and released. It is a late summer here so I am worried about when it does get cold, just gets wet here no snow....she does go somewhere sometimes but she is starting to spend most of her days in my backyard napping and waiting for me to feed her in the am/pm. I am allergic to cats so I was not planning on an indoor, am I doing more damage than good? She kept coming around at the beginning and I felt bad for her I started with the small cat food in plastic called soups or something like that, she licked the bowl clean scooting everywhere so I just kept on feeding her...I did buy a cat toy and willing to provide her outdoor comforts...kind of mixed emotions here on how to help her
I took on a feral cat in 2017, Christmas Eve as a matter of fact. I live in Michigan and it was one of the worst snow storms that year. In 2018 I trapped him and had him fixed and tipped. Fast forward, I was able to pick him up and sit with him on my lap. This took 6 years!! Unfortunately, I spoke to him one time recently trying to pick him up and he stays a bit clearer of me so I'm not able to put the flea medication on him but I can't open the door now and he will come in and eat but we'll leave right after. He's always had an outdoor heated house as well as a hutch to eat in. One day I hope to get him in.
Thank you for what you are doing. I volunteer for a rescue in Australia and have recently taken in a 1-2 year old male feral cat to try and socialise him. Hes not aggressive, but he does shut down when I walk in to his room (we have him set up in an onsuite bathroom) hes just so sweet and scared right now, but I have patience and Im stubborn, so hopefully one day we will be able to earn his trust. Im in no hurry.
You are right! Rescue the animal first! Forget the recording!!
Exactly what I have noticed.
The most beautiful "crumb"that I have ever seen!
Thank you.
What size the cage you use?
Anne -- it's always for money! It's such awful cruelty inflicted solely for financial gain, such as soliciting "donations" which go to into someone's pocket or ad revenue from youtube.
Yep. That is why I say don't watch these videos. Many of these are from foreign countries with just titles at the bottom of the video as narration.
Thank you -- this is such a heartwarming story, Anne. Just one question -- is it necessary to cover the cage with a sheet or quilt for a few days or weeks to keep you new feral feeling less exposed during the early stages of the taming process?
I rescued a pair of ex feral siblings and I covered the cage but I also kept it in the main room because I was in a studio flat at the time. In the end I think this helped because they got used to me very quickly. The first time I opened the cage and left it open was at night so they could explore and that also worked well. After a couple of nights they were running and playing over me all night lol
😢
Thank you Anne for posting this. I've known this for a while. Wish we could go after those people with legal means. Sharing this video.
When I learned about these videos, I was disgusted. I had even watched one and that's what got me thinking, "This must be staged." Then I looked into it more and found out how many of these are out there on TH-cam and other video sites and why these crummy people are putting them on with no concern for the animals.
It's important to never stop learning. I rescue rabbits also. Thank you for this video. I also loves the names you've chosen. Sub... looking forward to your next video.
the flanges on either side of the beak are sensitive because it allows the parents to stimulate the beak to open, that is what you are doing. This is basic bird care information.
We had a Dutch dwarf who we bred with another small bunny. Had three survive a litter of 6. We kept 2, males and gave the other male to the owner of the daddy. All these bunnies lived 12 years. I had them all neutered so no more bunnies. They loved to sleep lying on their backs on our legs. They also enjoyed belly rubs, which is unusual for rabbits. We learned about digestive issues. A natural solution to upset tummy is pineapple juice. They really loved timothy hay. That made up the bulk of their diet. Treats were carrot chunks, apple cut up, banana slices, bits of pineapple. And ALL bunnies love electrical cords. The house needs bunny proofing. They also like to nibble on windowsills if they are low down. Ordinary folks have no idea how to feed their rabbits. It is worth avoiding an unnecessary trip to the vet to do some research on healthy diets. I called around a lot at first and learned a lot. We had a great exotic animal vet who also rescued rabbits. Bunnies are actually great pets but you really need to understand them. Ours used litter boxes in the house, we had a well fenced in yard with dark green chicken wire fortifying the fence. They loved being outside and our Maine Coon considered himself their personal protector. They were all great friends. We also had a tiny white toy poodle who thought they were HER babies. So sweet!❤❤❤
It is sad that so many people buy a rabbit and don't know how to care for it or what to expect. Rabbits and other smaller pets are so often bought at pet stores as impulse buys. The stores are no help either because they say that a rabbit is o.k. to live in a small cage, when it is definitely not o.k. And unneutered rabbits from pet stores many times end up dumped or given away within a year's time.
I just subscribed 😊
Thank you!
just wanted to point out a few things as I'm a pigeon breeder. There's lots of bad info out there unfortunately. I could tell almost immediately this baby has tons of air in his crop. The longer you take to feed them the more chance they have of taking air into the crop. Weak baby's are especially prone to this. All that touching the baby is also triggering his feed instinct. You really need bigger syringes, 1ml is maybe ok for the first day of life, but beyond that it will take forever to adequately feed a baby this way. A healthy 10 day old will eat 30-40ml a serving with ease. Air is dangerous because people tend to assume the crop isn't moving and don't feed. Also it greatly increases the chances of actual sour crop. It's no coincidence breeds like pouters get sour crop far more often then normal pigeons. The idea that baby's die because the food is a few degrees to low is a fantasy with no scientific evidence. Almost certainly the bird died because of malnutrition probably relating to air in crop, or infection caused by that. Along with splay leg, the baby pigeons legs need to be always under him and on a good surface he can grasp, not something slippery. Birds with splay leg often injured themselves thrashing around. Good luck in the future! I love raising/rehabbing animals it's such a noble thing you do!
I noticed the splay legs issue but as a beginner I wasn't sure, thank you for posting so maturely
I have a theory first off your bird is a racing homer and in that breed of pigeons I believe due to selective and excessive breeding male and or female features and traits have breed out of them . Those features have been set aside for more racing desirable features like a pin tail or shorter wing bones for speed or tighter vent bones ect. It’s not easy to determine unless you have them genetically tested.
That could be true, but 3 of our other guys were downed racers and they act normally. However, selective breeding can bring out strange traits. I also had 3 pet geese as a teenager and one was a definite hermaphrodite who laid eggs and yet had a male organ pop out when the cloaca was pressed. He/she mated with the female goose while the other true male mated with him/her. We discovered this when he was isolated and on meds for a respiratory infection and my dad thought I was putting eggs in the pen to keep him company. Actually, he was laying the eggs, which was quite a shock to us and which also explained why we had always thought the female was laying an extraordinary amount of eggs each week.
Very good advice. I've rescued strays but not any feral adults. Only kittens from a feral mom. They were easy to take care of. Now I'm catless watching cat videos wondering if I should get one.
Hello from morroco Nice work
🤍🖤🫶🏾
The happy pigs are so cute 😍😂
I wish I had time and room for more because there are so many in shelters, but this is all the pigs we can handle with the rest of the gang- the bunnies and pigeons and cats and parakeets. If people don't know their limits, the animals suffer from lack of care and attention. That is how some of these terrible hoarding situations start.
I'm glad you enjoy seeing these sweet little guys.
Leben die beiden Schweinchen alleine in ihrem Käfig? Immer getrennt?
I appreciate you showing us a less expensive cage set up.
The actual cage is a well known way with the guinea pig people to make large pens for the pigs, but I don't think you need specially sewn pads unless you want them. The under layer terrycloth towels and top scrap fleece pieces have worked well for us for years.
Thanks❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘🐇🐇❤❤❤❤

I we have trapped 3 feral siblings and 2 of them have adjusted very well but 1 is still very shy. He allows you to pet him for a few seconds but he’ll tell you when enough is enough.
Thank you for being one of those folks that give these ferals a chance at an indoor life. Our ten year old feral female is still too scared to be touched.
My guinea pig died earlier this month from a upper respiratory infection and I did not realize how much he meant to me until he passed I miss him so much! Unfortunately I had to give my other one to my friends and I said can I pet him and she said " no! He is no longer your guinea pig!" And I tried to hold back tears
