Greetings all, welcome to my channel! :)
I've always had a fascination for trains, so I decided to make it into a hobby with TH-cam. Most trips I do involve journeys in and around London and the Southeast and slightly further out.
I currently have no proper schedule for filming. During University times I try for once every 2 weeks, but it can vary depending on weather/holidays/engineering work etc.
I hope you'll enjoy my videos, and thanks for joining me on my quest to Honourably Spot those Trains! :P

Trains at Eastleigh (SWML, EFL, ERL) - 01/08/2024

This video follows on a day after the Romsey railway station video, heading out of the wider Southampton area but hanging on to its outer rim to begin with, at Eastleigh railway station. A moderate, 3-platform DfT Category C1 "Important feeder" train station, it was first opened under the name "Bishopstoke" by the London and South Western Railway (L&WSR) in 1839. The station-house was designed by Sir William Tite and has been Grade II listed since 1983. It was renamed "Bishopstoke Junction" in 1852, with the branch to Fareham and Gosport having opened in 1841, "Eastleigh and Bishopstoke" in 1889, and finally "Eastleigh" Station in 1923.

The station has been a busy and important junction throughout its life, having gained a second branch line to Salisbury via Romsey in 1847 and a large carriage & wagon repair shops (later to become Eastleigh Works) in 1891. The Waterloo to Bournemouth line was electrified in 1967, but the Romsey line closed to passengers two years later in May 1969. The Portsmouth line was diesel only until 1990, when it was added to the electrified network. Passenger services over the line to Romsey restarted in 2003.

I’m going to Finsbury Park later what platform is the best for train sporting
@@thebpz the two most middle platforms are often the best, being 4 & 5. It is a fairly cluttered station so, recommend you get good shots from either end of the platforms.
yh ty I went onto platform 4 cuz I think those were the trains coming out of kings x can't remember but I got kicked off bcz they said no trains were stopping there(which I alr knew) but I still got some good shots from platform 1 and 2 ty for the advice

Rotherham is my local train station and your lucky cause I have never seen a Class 66 go past the station before
@@Britishlad112 apparently there's a freight depot of sorts nearby, so my guess is keep your eyes peeled, you may see one with enough time! :)

Love the video but there are not class 91s or 90s these are class 43s the 91s are electric locomotives in passenger service with LNER on the east coast mainline and the class 90s are now fright locomotives with Freightliner.
@@SR43125 thank you! And you'll notice there are some 90s/91s in the video, I decided to add them since they're much like the 43s during that time; all 3 classes were being phased out of service.

Not at the moment but I do want to make another one closer to when the station is upgraded or when East West Rail opens. There is one on my channel from a year or two ago :)

Ran this line a few times over the years, can't believe the track into London or the whole line is not electrified, some much for ULEZ diesel trains into Marylebone,
Not 769s though, I know your train enthusiasts I am but these are really 319s saw them from new as a kid n spent most of my life on those 319s so for me myself, I've gotta say they're originality of what they were, 319s

They are essentially still 319s, but you could say the same about the hydrogen Class 768s; by that logic and the legal structural changes made, it's a different class of train.
