    I live in the Alps, love the air suspension on my 90, it's great for getting that bit extra height in snow and also it's reassuring to set it in low mode when negotiating some multi story car parks. Not driven the coil springs but the air system is well planted, incredibly comfortable and no wobble or swaying.

      Appreciate the view. I finally did drive the 90 on air suspension in LR Experience day last week. Very nice and very good on normal roads. Off-road, wow ! An interesting feature as well , even on high mode, it still has an extra auto lift if you happen to “bottom out” on a crest, very clever. I doubt we would be doing that in ours. We have mudflats and steps anyway so that limits the mud n ruts stuff if you are off-road. Another video to share that experience on way

    I've got a 90 with a medium sized collie. He loves the back, with the rear seats up, he has plenty of space, feels secure, and in the event of an accident would not become a flying object. Think about it, the boot provides an area not dissimilar to a dog cage, which most dogs love.

    I just bought the exact same model as you test drove and it's been working out really well. I'm not sure if your model Y was fabricated in Germany or China because I heard that Tesla recently switched to the Berlin plant for model Ys in the UK. Either way they are built pretty solid with Germany having the edge. I actually prefer the rear wheel drive version solely for the battery pack it uses. It's at minimum a four hundred thousand mile battery pack and coupled with the model Y's incredible efficiency the car has really good range for only having a 60kWh battery pack. Cold weather is this battery's kryptonite, but I have seen a ton of positive videos from both Germany and Norway where the owners just rave about the rear wheel drive Y. Sorry, new owner so still a little too much enthusiasm probably.

      Thanks Stephen. We're really enjoying the 90 and your note is a nice reminder to get some more content up. I didn't realise we had hit 10 views. Amazing. I'm also looking at an option now of dropping the rear right hand side seat so Purcell can walk up a little ramp and into a crate of some sort. More on that in next video. Always happy to share stories - note if you want to order a rear wheel cover I've been waiting over 5 months for one ! Not easy...

    For anyone watching. I have a Thule velocompact three bike carrier plus extra bike that I had on my Discovery sport. You can get a spare wheel adaptor for this and as above you lose one bike. On all the websites I looked on it says this rack is not compatible with the Defender 2020 onwards. They recommend another carrier. However, as I had the velocompact, I didn't fancy shelling out for a new rack. The velocompact will work with the 90 but it's a bit fiddly. You need to open the rear door in order to get the rack on to the towbar. Once it is on, lower the handle but dont fully lock on. This will cause the rack to sag slightly. This then allows the door to close clearing the folded down spare wheel adaptor, but only just. Once the door is closed, align the carrier and lock into position on the tow bar. Fold up and secure the spare wheel adaptor and you are ready to load the bikes. The carrier will no longer tilt and so you can't open the rear door once it is on but it is a small price to pay if you already have the velocompact prior to getting a Defender. I hope this helps. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

    Lovely car but really not sure about what you suggest about dog in the back! We shall be going for the 110 as personally think its a bit unfair on the dog with such a small space.

    • @Defender90Reviews
      @Defender90Reviews 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there and love the Triumph tag( my fav bikes). Go for the 110 Defender if it suits your needs, it is an amazing machine. I really loved the space and the back doors but not for us. Trust me, the 90 is perfect for our pup, he stands tall and is more secure than the wider space a bigger boot offers, he can also turn around. I personally drive a 530 Touring so he spends more time there than the 90, but given a dog is only in the space for a short period it suits perfectly (note the anti spill waterbowl from Landrover is very useful). 90 or 110, as the dog ages the folding ramp might be a useful purchase but not required for a lively furball friend. PLease do share a video when you get the new 110.

    Hi could I ask if this has the air suspension? I’m considering one without but I’m a little nervous? Thanks

    • @Defender90Reviews
      @Defender90Reviews 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Paul, great shout. Ours has the coil suspension, not air. Now this is because that was the spec in this Defender and we’d decided that would work perfectly well for us. Other than maybe lowering the Defender to help maybe an elderly person (Granda is our case) in, we had no need for “air”. The side steps are a must and I would say there is less body roll in this Defender than my previous HSE Discovery 5. This makes me prioritise getting a video done of full spec and benefits of each feature. I would therefore say the coil suspension is perfect.

      Good to hear back from you. I was impressed that your old English sheep dog enjoys being in the boot. We have 2 small jack russells and for the first few days we decided to use the front doors to harness them into the rear seats. Rain and slow speed of seat movement quickly out an end to that. We still wanted to harness them into the back seats but changed entry point to getting them to walk through the middle section of the rear seat from the boot. We’ve continued with this method for a year now and it works fine. Doesn’t help us carry human passengers in the rear though !! The defender 90 V8 unfortunately has both front seats with electric movement so we don’t have luxury of the quick release to slide the front passenger seat forward.

  • @Lar308
    @Lar308 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I would not be happy with that space for such a big dog. You will also need a grille to protect the seats and possibly another grille to protect the electric rear window heating elements. I was thinking of getting one as a commercial. I have been driving short wheelbase Toyota Landcruiser commercials since 2006 so am a bit weary of them even though they never left me down or had any serious issues. I would love one though. But Harry (of Harry's Farm and Garage fame) done a review recently and he gave it the thumbs down. I have to give it a thumbs down too simply because of its price over here in Ireland (Republic of) and you'd think you would at least get a spare wheel cover like on the Toyota for the prices they are asking for these vehicles. Are the lights as bad as Harry says in this review video - another big black mark for me if it is so. th-cam.com/video/oDzi4hVkrrU/w-d-xo.html

    • @Defender90Reviews
      @Defender90Reviews 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the note. I love Harry's channel and did indeed watch his D90 commercial vehicle review. Then again he spent something like £60k on repairs to a vintage jag last year so lives in a very different commercial world to most of us. A very different proposition. I can only speak for us and the D90 suits our requirements perfectly including our beautiful OES needs. The lights are excellent ! I'll do a short video to share accessing and driving the Defender at night, one for the list.
