BROKEN Disney's Aladdin by Tiger Electronics | Can I FIX It?
That LP5304 is an overvoltage/overcurrent/overtemp protection IC, so just bypassing it may not be the best idea.
Ya that was just so I could "prove" that it was the fault and see the speaker work. I've ordered some listed and LP5304AQVF. As far as I can tell it's the same. Any idea if I'm correct?
There's always more hidden screws! That thing looked impossible to get into. Great video!
Thanks!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
No biggie it’s still hot so just move it back
Ya it all worked out. I was mad at myself at first but then I just found it funny.
@ lol 😂
Nice work! Fantastic job troubleshooting, if you order that part you should make a little youtube short putting that in as a little follow up
Thank you! And the part is already ordered! Just have to wait for it to make it here from China...
Awesome work!
Thanks a lot!
The guy with the youtube channel destroyd so many cold air buttons
Easy and simple fix. Nice job!
Thanks! 👍
Always nice to see someone keep things out of the trash by taking a little time to troubleshoot. Nice job!
Thank you! I have a lot of fun doing stuff like this
Awesome ! :)
Thanks!
Brilliant! Same problem, 3 white flashing lights. Cleaned Filter no joy! Thought of this video regarding seized motor, gave is a good shake and it worked… didn’t need to take everything apart.
Sounds like my pain was your gain! Happy to hear you were able to get it working without needing to take it apart.
My wife bought a refurbished one. She got 2 years plus out of it. It would not work. 3 red lights and 1 white goes on for just a sec. Anyway, I'll take off the filter and clean it . The TR6 I will find. Just that is a start. Thanks
cool, a 13 minute video of you breaking a $300 hair dryer........
I've had a few similar comments. But I tried cleaning the filter and still nothing. I agree there was no true "fix" in my video, but regardless, it started working and it's now a year later and it's still going. Also, I bought it "broken" for next to nothing. So... I'd day it's a win
Thanks for the very informative video. Now that mine is fixed and the next generation gets to make memories with robie. Once I heard you say that it was just a jammed motor, I ended up just giving him a good thunk on his side. That seemed to free things up enough the he started working again.
I didn't think to just give it a whack. But I had fun taking him apart to see how he works anyways. Glad to hear you got yours working again!
Super cool, you made the repair seem simple! Most people would never bother to fix something like this. I have a Jurassic Park 3 Dino Dex whose speaker is dead, and I suspect it's for a similar reason - there is probably corrosion from a bad battery that has compromised the wire to the speaker. I want to try to fix it, but I have to learn how to first.
Corrosion, depending on how severe, is usually pretty easy to clean and can solve alot of problems. If you need practice soldering, there's kits you can buy or just go to a local second hand store and buy some cheap junk you can practice soldering and desoldering on (ideally something that's already also broken)
I had one of these when I was a kid.
Dude! I love the way you troubleshoot. You remind me of me. Therefore, I could totally Relate and follow you. Nice work.
Thank you!
that is what I need in my life, a handy guy, ps GOD send me one. Thanks for the video. Mine is flashing red and I will try your video tomorrow. Thanks again.
Did you ever get it working?
You have a nice voice. Very pleasant and idk, accepting in tone. Plus, great video. I have the Dyson Airwrap and it too seemed broken until I followed the beginning of your video And then felt in over my head. But it made me subscribe to your channel. Even if you were only a magician this once, you sure seems to know what you’re doing diving in head first to that repair! Nice video! Your wife will be thrilled if it stays..functioning. Thank you!
Thank you very much! I hope you were able to get yours fixed. And the thing is still going strong which the wife is definitely happy about.
The hot air doesn’t work some time, recently happened. Anyone knows how to fix that ?
Shark fkexstyle I cleaned the filter and now it has the heat level button is flashing won’t turn on.. filters clean ?? Any ideas
I used to get into so much trouble doing stuff like this when I was a kid
do my x marked clip
Hi
Same problem, same fix. Disassembled everything and the hair dryer worked again magically…
I just picked one up at the swap meet for 5.00. Put battery in didn't work. Tapped on front and back now works.
We same problem with mine , its not money worth it
What kind of liquid and stuff are you using? I have to fix one and I was just thinking I needed solder.
No the heating element or head portion rotated too far clockwise, it was past the locking tab
My Dyson doesn’t turn on at all. No flashing lights. What could it be
Buy a new one and put the old one back in the box
Thermal fuse
@@dotcomconsulting3d where is it?
and what you do ? I dont understand
This did make me laugh. You literally had no idea what you was doing! All you had to do was clean the bottom filter. that's what the 3 flashing lights mean. it fixes this 99% of the time. its an awful design though having to pop off buttons to get inside. lol
mine was also flashing and all I did was clean the bottom filter and voila, back to life! lol
@@JulesJulianLyleMine was as well. I cleaned it, and no dice. Now it's 1:00am and I've got half my hair dried/straightened and have to search the internet for solutions.
Mine only works when the cable Is at an angle almost like a broken iPhone charger ? Any suggestions?
probably bad cord
Where is you disassembly kit from? That’s what I want
I just bought mine at harbor freight for $7.99.
It’s the pro toolkit from ifixit
I still have my Flipbot as well as Dingbot, Crackbot and Dustbot. I suspect they may also not power on any longer. I've just had them sitting on my desk for years. Really fun toys Tomy made!
I came across the various Tomy robots fairly recently. I would have loved stuff like this as a kid!
Mine keeps failing the test when it’s plugged in. It will flash red for the test and click, and then keep doing that over and over. If I try to turn on the dryer the lights will flash on but then turn off. Do you know what could be the problem?
It's hard to say for sure, but the easiest thing to check is the filter at the base of the handle. It's really easy to remove and clean. I know that if that gets clogged it can cause over heating which can cause the issue that you are describing.
How do you do the test? My speed lights are blinking after it tries to power on.
Nice work!
My dayso dray hair don't work it's new but it have worked for just 10 minut and it stopped suddenly and the two red light stat to flashing can you please give me an advice
I believe that the flashing lights usually means that the filter needs to be cleaned. The filter is the part at the base of the handle and should be easy to get to. If that doesn't fix it, I would try to return it and get a different one since it's new and should not be faulty.
mine (brand new) not worked up to 10 minute. it only worked for 3 second and keep flashing ... how in the world it filter is not clean. its new..
That's super rad! How well is the Sharpe holding up on the plastic?
It's holding up fairly well actually! Better than I expected. It does spend most of its time on a shelf just on display though.
After some thought and looking at other videos showing similar issues, I am fairly certain that the problem was simply that the motor had seized up and simply getting in there and manually moving it freed things up!
@@jessicasmith4478It says not to use water or cleaning products to clean the filter
@@SchlichteToven I looked it up on youtube. I believe it was related to Dyson but maybe wrong. I havent had a problem since, i guess you could just try water and soak. Main thing is he doesn't realize the actual filter is the piece that snaps off.
@@SchlichteToven Yeah it will probably cut off again. You need to clean the filter. Same issue was happening with me. Soak it 30 mins with soap and water and brush the filter clean
I agree. In my case, after verifying the filter was clean, I blew shop air into the motor without disassembling the handle and it started working again. It was a fairly easy fix.
This is the first time I've seen a Flipbot. Tomy made so many cool toys back in the day. Glad to see Flipbot is back to drunkenly tumbling around, nice work!
I had heard of Tomy but didn't realize how many cool things they made back then. Toys and games from the 80's are some of my favorite in general. ...Nostalgia.

My dad had one of these when I was a kid in the early 90s, and it was my favorite thing to just watch him eat coins. I recently purchased one at a flea market and sadly my Robbie is no longer eating coins as well. Seeing yours do its little happy dance makes me want to finally get around to fixing him!
Definitely a fun project! I was a little intimidated at first by all the gears and stuff but it was worth it in the end.

These Tiger Electronics games are hard to play!
My first USB port replacement. Happy it was successful!
Cool little robot toy. I probably would have had a lot of fun with this as a kid.
Wow I have one of these! Good times
I had one as a kid! No idea what happened to it though
