Is there a justification for not using the cornet ?

What a nice guy with a philosophy that is uplifting to behold. Having taught instrumental music in public schools for 33 years it really resonated with me his point about “being told what to do”. Institutionally I get it. But For the sake of the individuals affected I chafe at this point of departure esp as it is perpetuated well beyond the point of students lacking existing knowledge or context. Culturally we’ve done well at quelling natural curiosity concurrently with attaching some onerous cloud over “school”, “learning”, etc. I’ll stop…rabbit hole for this guy.

Outstanding…goes without saying. Except that it definitely warrants high praise. Wow, way to nail that opening. Great job keeping it musical throughout. Just lovely!

I very much like her trumpet playing, especially the sound, which I find kind of soft, or flexible, but still bright. At least never aggressive. But she is also an impressive person!

Really interesting to hear about. I often wonder how pro musicians of Brandon’s level play so beautifully with no mistakes. Now I know they do make them!

One of the nicest performances I've heard from Mr. Bilger. I particularly liked his tonguing near the end of the piece.
