I'm still using windsurf, and still haven't finished my trial, its okay, but sonnet 3.5 gets stuck a lot, I guess AI is not ready yet for creating large scale programs, as soon as the program gets bigger then 10 files it starts making hallucination and errors, it always tries to re create files even though they exist, memory issues, it forgets all its work after the 10th file and starts analyzing files but sometimes it doesn't even look for files it just makes one up, in my peoject it ended up creating 3 types of servers for the back end, sql, mongoDB, and sqllite, then it said "ohh i see the problem, there are multiple back end server sources, lets delete 2 and use one" then it cycles back and re creates the 2 deleted.😂😂😂😂 Its good for web design though, however app design and complex ideas are very hard on it.

The real advantage of Aider compared to Cursor or Winsurf is that it is a termainl Ai so you could use other ides beside vscode. Ides like Intellij or Eclipse. This is kind of going backward.

i really like aider due to its git revision history and how it handles very specific targeted commits , however i wish they would just make a webui or integrate into vscode like windsurf or copilot , as the cli is clunky to interact with , the editor is a step in right direction for large rich prompts .

Sonnet is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to coding.

I don’t know if you touched on this but my biggest concern is the rate limiting issue. I am going to use OpenRouter since I find the rate limiting to be less of an issue since it can route to different providers helping to circumvent the problem.

nice, the only bad thing about qwen 2.5 coder 32b is it is 32k tokens limit. i tested it with cline and it is results very good behind sonnet and haiku

Seems so weird you don't get good results with Qwen 2.5 coder 32b, it's honestly easily the best coding LLM I've used other than Claude 2.5 sonnet and maybe gpt4o

When exactly do you use aider and when cline? As you can use both with the same model i would love to see a comparison between cline and aider where which one is better than the other.

great video, I'm a bit confused about using aider vs using cline, like when would you use one over the other ? is it that cline is best for complex tasks while aider is more suited for easier things like refactoring ? I would watch a full video on that xD
