Don’t do this !! Broke my car now my hood will not close!!!

Thanks man. Got it. The passenger side was the worst. Driver's side was easy. Used a camera probe on the passenger side. My stepson turns 21 this Wednesday, told him he owes me a case of beer. It's his car.

Was able to get the drivers side with ease. I don't even see the passenger side mechanism.

Right now can't get the hood to release and the battery is dead. I'll show my husband this video and hopefully we can get hood up. This is a crazy issue to have. Shame on ford.

I found that if you push down on the hood while doing this it makes it a little easier. At first, I couldn't get it, but look at the angle he puts the screwdriver at to get a better idea where the latch is. Great video though! I was replacing a dead battery so if I couldn't get in I was looking at a tow!

On mine my yellow latch feels like it’s not connected to anything. Tried this method and did not do anything but make that click. It still stays locked

EDIT: Dealer just called me and now the drivers latch will not close. 🤦🏻‍♂️ AND they dented the bumper cover with the screw driver when they did this to get it to open!!! 🤬 Well. 1 problem solved. The hood is open and I can get my oil changed. Gonna look into replacing or repairing the latch myself. (I JUST needed to get the good open...) I'll have the dealer put it in writing that they dented the bumper and will repair that... Saving me around $800 if this works... Gotta pick up the car from the dealer after their diagnostic today. That's $175 already!!!

I'd advise against this. Going to have to replace the passenger hood latch due to knocking off one spring and losing the other completely. Just order a new hood latch from Amazon with two day ship.

Thanks for the vid, will try tomorrow. The part that u pushed up against on the passenger side has a hole in it, looks like a spring is missing from it.
