I was at elland road and west ham had 3/4 s of the ground full of hammers fans! I didn’t get home until 5.30am and I had to be at work that morning! Then I went to the fa cup final with my brother and sir trev won the cup for us we were the better team and outplayed Arsenal great times

Paul Allen was absolute shit but Bonds was almost superhuman in this match. How he never played for England was a national disgrace.

I saw that game. As I recall it was after this game that George Best went AWOL, the beginning if his rapid decline. And looking at this from the perspective of 2024, how remarkably open it was. No low block defending with nine men behind the ball. Attackers attacked, and defenders defended. It made for such wonderful entertainment. And what players: Charlton, Law, Best, and Moore, Hurst, Bonds, Brooking and Pop Robson. And note Lampard and Redknapp seniors.

What a great game. And, yes, West Ham had a very impressive line-up. This brought back happy memories of a time when football seemed to be more honest, enjoyable and local than today.
