Traveling Australia at 19 on my own, in a 2011, n70 Hilux!! Buckle in for the adventures, they’re gonna be wild ones!
Keeping it simple, keeping it cheap, nothing but the real deal camping and living the dream on a budget.

50 days till I tour Aus, with my new setup!!
Less then two months till we hit the open road once again. However, that won’t stop me from having mini camps in between and living the dream, almost like I have not stopped traveling 😧😂 It’s taken a few months to get to where we are with the new setup (main reason we went back to Perth)
I’ve now headed out to test the new sleeping arrangements and a few of the other new bits.
Heading downsouth to Augusta in the middle of the bush, now that’s a good test…

Im building my dream Ute, built not bought!!
มุมมอง 1.8K21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Welcome to yet another, as we pick up the new coloured Ute and set up the welder to do more work. Join me as I find a few bargains and get this canopy setup going, ready for the next tour of Australia.
You’ll never guess what I’m doing to my Hilux!!
มุมมอง 1.3K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
New upgrades to the Ute? What’s happening to it? We will find out, but while it’s out for a week, join me as I keep busy planning for the utes canopy and sleeping arrangements. As I also look after my dog when he suddenly needs a surgery, it’s a hectic week, but a good end to the week with a bitta fun with the mates 🤙🤙
It’s all going wrong!! What to do now? 😧
มุมมอง 1.5K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Good news for sure, we are getting a free tow back to Perth, so good for sure, the insurance is worth it 🤙🤙. Cheers to the RAC, join me as I pack up n set the plans aside and head back to Perth for the rest of the year so I can get my clutch fixed up. As I get to stay in a motel, that seems like 5 stars to me, (all payed for by the RAC) I definitely was treated real well for sure. We shall see ...
I’ve broken my clutch! 😧, will I be stranded?
มุมมอง 1.4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Well this ain’t a good one, how will we afford n get out from this? Luck was on my side in this one for sure 🤙🤙. Join me as I camp in one of the best areas of Albany, then hit the beaten tracks with other my mates hiluxes, when all goes to trouble when smoke starts coming out from the clutch in my ute!! 😧😧, not the best to have on the beach, but not the worst either. Also, cheers for a first go...
I’m living in my car again, back on the roads n living the dream!!
มุมมอง 2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Once again I hit the road to Albany, is it to stay? Unfortunately not, but we are back n sleeping in the Ute again 🤣, in wait for the canopy to be built up bit by bit. Join me as I explore some new spots in Albany and get some new upgrades for the camping setup 🤙🤙, big things to come for sure…
Im building a custom canopy for only $200!!
มุมมอง 3.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Shout out for the secondary welder (you know who you are), will this cheap welder be able to handle the job while we wait for cigweld? To build a canopy for as cheap as possible, make it strong enough to tour aus, and make it unique enough to get many looks, will this little thing work? Join me as I chuck on the mask, breathe in the fumes n get the steel all into one big frame.
I broke my new welder after only three weeks!! How did this work?
มุมมอง 869หลายเดือนก่อน
More confused than a chicken in a duck pond, how did the welder break? Must be faulty from the factory right? They better replace it for me tho, but either way, join me as I start up the sparks n get the start of the canopy happening.

Is this the best way to spend a birthday? From 4wding, to boating and fishing, this is the true Aussie way to spend my 19th. Join me as I hit the dunes in the Ute, up mutton bird and into Denmark to pick up more bits for the Ute 🤙🤙. Ending the day sending my little boat across the harbour in the big waves. What do we end up coming across?
I customised my ute tray, better than a 6k tray?
มุมมอง 2.7K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The start of the new builds, starting from the very bottom, the utes tray. Will I ruin it? Or will it end up looking like a custom 6k tray? Join me as I put on my gloves to weld up the Ute. Then head towards Albany and have some boat trailer problems. $20 to make a Ute tray look way better? Is it worth it?
I almost sunk my boat!!! Waves came over the bow 😮😮

The first adventures in Perth, join me and my mates as we hit the swan river , testing our luck for bites and fish 🤙. Will we have any luck? Sit down and hold on, it’s a bumpy ride over some of the waves…

As I settle from the travels, heading back from a side trip to Albany with the dog. Join me as I start the next adventures, while tackling work but also getting ready for the new ute upgrades, this is my life for now, so I know what I’m doing? No, we shall work it out a month from now. But for now, get ya toolbelt out, we’re working the daily grind yet in wait to be back on the roads 🤙🤙
I live in a car with my dog!! Is it comfy?
มุมมอง 2.3K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The reasons for the short trip have now been revealed, I’m looking after my dog for the next month!! Join me as I start my time fixing up my boat and taking it out for a spin through the river, then head on a trip downsouth to my hometown, Albany. Buckle in for the ride, the dog has shotgun.
This is the end of my Aussie lap at 18!!
มุมมอง 2.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
A sad week for sure, the end of the first lap. But, we get to see the dog again after 3 months, as well as starting the first renovations to the Ute. As we head from Carnarvon, join me as i drive along with the rain and explore the great Aussie outback before getting to the coast and driving through the pinnacles. Buckle up, this is the last of the lap but the start to more adventures ahead

@@VoyagingBushman cheers 🤙🤙
I’m loving the build Josh! I doubt that you’ll ever take the rooftop tent off any time soon, they’re so handy! The weight is nothing and they don’t add too much to the fuel economy either. I leave mine mounted all the time as I need to be ready to go at a moment’s notice because my Mrs is busy looking after her mother and the timing is hard to organise. I bet you slept much better up top than inside the cabin! I can just imagine the trips you’ll do especially when you hook the boat up to take with you!
@@patelliott8724 yes, well I’ll be touring Aus a second time so I’ll end up using the tent almost every night, unfortunately my boat is gone tho 😥. But I’ll defo get another soon

Do you think you will do much to the hilux not reguarding touring?, if so what? 🤷♂️
@@Abstract-4906 I reckon re painting the Ute and also upgrading the clutch wouldn’t could as touring right? Cause I’ve done that too, idk if this counts as touring since it’ll upgrade where I can get to, but I’ll eventually have larger wheels and a lift n winch etc
@Young_.and._Free love the diy tohring setup but theres also lots of aftermarket support for the mighty n70
@ yes I know there is, I can easily unbolt the canopy and keep it if it’s too weird for someone else’s liking

Colour looking fresh! Good tent as well I run one for awhile, less weight and still quick as a hard shell to setup/pack
@@HollisTravels that is correct, less weight is better in a lotta ways too
Would have liked to see some racing stripes down the middle or even flames down the side. Everyone knows this would have doubled the power to the wheels while halving the fuel economy, not to mention it'd be totally f*&king cool.
@@justthinkaboutit7983 ligit mate, red makes it go faster for sure
good colour that is what i have Mitsubishi Pajaro
@MitchellLabinsky it definitely is a unique colour for a Hilux
G'day Josh can't see if you attached roof rack to the tray If so the cab and tray move at different rates could cause cracking Keep up the good work
@@DaleElston-ux1xr I see, I’ve had many ute roofracks attached to the trays and never had any problems, I’ll keep it in mind tho
I always wondered why you didn’t bother masking up the car when spraying the tray leaving black overspray on it Nice colour mate not too many that are red getting around
not enuf red car
@@Finger_Blasterr yep, that’s why I didn’t cover it 😂, because I had the plan to change the colour
I nearly got t-boned by a crop duster in my red Hilux 😂 I'd just been out to my friends husband who had a panel beater shop in wongan hills when I lived in nungarin so he could swap out some rusty doors... I was heading home just afterwards and this plane had just finished spraying a crop and had to gain altitude very very quickly to avoid hitting me driving past 😂😂😂 I needed new jocks after that 😂😂😂😂
@@VoyagingBushman sounds like an interesting day for sure, coulda been close 😂😂, I’ve already scratched my paint a lil from a small dent 😂
@Young_.and._Free lol I drove a VB Commodore that an uncle in Northam had just painted down to his daughter in Perth once. I had to go through roadworks on the way back, lots of loose stone flicking the new paint :(
The front rack looks like a bit of overkill just for a solar panel so I hope there’s other things going on it. Great colour change, it looks good! Red is my jinx colour, always have trouble with the boys in blue!
@@patelliott8724 half the rooftop tent will sit over the top of the rack
@Young_.and._Free As long as you don't mount the tent to the front rack it should be ok. Because the cabin and the tray move separately, you can't mount anything solid between the two. Things will break if you do.
@@patelliott8724 only place to mount it is on the front, tent goes over cab, but I guess we’ll see, as I said, all my utes have had the roofracks and bolts and they’ve been fine
@@Young_.and._Free My rooftop tent overhangs the cabin but is not connected to the cabin in any way. If I put my roof racks on, they sit underneath the tent so there's not much point using them unless I move the tent to overhang the rear of the canopy more.
You should sas it
@NateH-qd7bm I should, do you wanna pay for it? Cause I’m broke 😂😂
@Young_.and._Free mate I would absolutely love to but I have neither the time or money
@NateH-qd7bm makes two of us 😂😂
How much does the tent weigh? I have a Kings Quiky. It weighs 65kg and I have it on a six by four trailer.
@@stanleyj.mitchell4851 it weighs about 48kgs with the ladder etc, lightest tent out there 🤙🤙
Great choice of tent, congratulations! I have one the same and love it. A couple of tips for you- When removing the cover, leave the front clips attached and roll the cover towards the car roof. When packing up, simply roll the cover back over the tent. To upgrade the Mattress, replace it with a Dune self inflating one. One great feature with this tent is that you can leave all the bedding setup ready for the next time! Can’t wait to see where you go next!
@@patelliott8724 I was gonna leave the cover to the other side from the entrance, (where my awning will be) cause I’ll have my solar panel at the front most likely, and for the mattress, I have a few old foam mattresses that we used for camping when I was a little tike, I was gonna chop those up and stuff em under the mattress that’s in there already, (I don’t have any money to buy anymore stuff). Yes leaving the bedding in the tent is great too, means I can leave the blankets in there

It's crazy how long it takes to get into mechanics etc these days. Any plans to upgrade your licence?
@@VoyagingBushman no need to upgrade my license, nowadays licenses are different, c class can drive up to 4 tonne I believe. But eventually when I’m driving the 8 tonnes etc out of farms, I’ll get a license
You were lucky with the tow home! I have to do the clutch in my Colorado soon. I’ll be changing it from a duel mass type clutch to a single mass which should be better for 4wheeling and towing etc. I usually do all my own mechanical work but this time I’m thinking about paying a mechanic to fit it. All mechanical work is covered by warranty so if it stuffs up at least I won’t have to pay to repair it. I’ll probably do the same thing when I get the timing belt done in the near future. Like you said, the new clutch should last a very long time.
@@patelliott8724 I’ve got the highest insurance from the RAC so they give us $7000 off from towing which is renewed each year
