Steve Perry, that's my guy!!! I've been a longtime fan of his, and I just love him!!! My brother was at this concert! But I got him beat!! I saw Journey for their 1983 Frontiers tourn in Houston, Tx. They played 3 sold out shows, where my best friend and I were at the 2 last shows. And then I saw Journey for their Raised On Radio tour also in Houston. And then for Steve's first solo tour in Ft. Worth, Tx!!

The reason this version is so great is because it’s not just her it’s the rendition of the instrumental certain notes changed ever so slightly makes this what it is.

Steve can still sing he put an album out in 2018 called Traces and I loved it. Yeah maybe a little lower pitched but he was 69 when he cut it ❤❤❤

Steve Smith and Ross Valory did not leave before ROR. They were fired. However, the band had recorded a few songs with Steve Smith before he was fired and they kept them on the album - Positive Touch, The Eyes of a Woman & Why Can't This Night Go On Forever. Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon wrote the songs without any input or even telling Smitty and Ross, so when the band came together to rehearse and record, Ross and Smitty could not capture the feel of the album so Steve Perry fired them. He was not going to abandoned the album because of them, thus the reason for adding Randy Jackson and Michael Baird. FYI, Randy Jackson also played bass on the studio recording of After the Fall from the 1983 Frontiers album.

Jonathan Cain wrote Faithfully by himself. Jonathan wrote it for his wife at the time. Two years later, she divorced him.

I remember the racists actually complaining about how she should have sang this plain and not try to redo it. Many people didn't like this. It is amazing how history will retell the story.
