If you have misty step and can't pick or break a door you just step in to the locked room by going in to tactical view (pressing O) and then moving your cursor just behind the door and using Misty Step

Also, if you're invisible, and you want to loot chests, crates etc (not locked chests or crates) open the chest/crate and send to another party member, and it doesn't break your invisibiliy =)

Hm, I wonder if the Giths are truly evil as stated or if they became aggressive/ruthless due to their overall circunstancies (specially because of their eslavement by the mind flayers). It´s good to note that their were split into two: 'Githzerai' and 'Githyanki'. Maybe the latter is indeed lawful evil specially due to Gith and now Vlaakith influence, but I think the Githzerai is more neutral alignment and they were born cause they didn't support the aggressive tendencies of the Githyankis. As leaders, Orpheus is also reasonable compared to his mother Vlaakith, which is more about fear and oppression. I mean, maybe the Githyanki wouldn't be considered evil if Orpheus was the leader from the start.

Clarification for the killing of Ansur. He killed Ansur well after becoming a mind flayer. The first time he broke free of the elder brain was because of Ansur. Thats when Ansur spent all his time looking for a way to reverse ceremorphosis meanwhile the emperor was like "I dont want to have my condition reversed".

At the very least I would've said Chaotic Neutral. Let's not pretend though as well that if you pass a persuasion check to spare the brain and use it, he agrees to it. If we can't attribute this to him as a deed then we can neither attribute the destruction of the Nether Brain as a "good" deed.

I currently have an ac 17 armor piece with a shield and the sword of screams. I also cast shield of faith so I have an ac 21. Pretty much untouchable on my character

The Emperor is evil. He lies, manipulates, and kills to get what he wants. He controlled the mind of Duke Stellmaine against her will, forced her to do his bidding and used her as a figure head while murdering anyone who got in his way. He had a friend who approached him, begged him to allow him to return his body anew.. he denied him and then killed his friend in his sleep. You can discover all of this if you actually read books and put clues together.. Siding with the Emperor is a major mistake, he should not be trusted.. He NEEDS us, we do not need him. The only reason he is protecting us is because he needs us, as soon as the credits roll black and you didn't being Illithid and join him, you're dead. The story only shows you six months after but if the Emperor still sees you as a threat that no longer has a use for his gain.. Bye. You cannot fight your nature, Mind Flayers are void of a soul.. They cannot feel love, but they can comprehend it and exploit it.

Haven't seen any mention of this yet, but once the Owlbear Cub is at the goblin camp, you don't have to convince the goblin to give him to you. You can just massacre them all, and as long as the cub is left alive, he'll show up at your camp!

Just started this game last night and for the most part I Going to do a blind playthrough but I def marked that cub and its momma, after killing the cub momma got depressed

I think its important to note, that the emporor is willing to take more inconvenient methods if it means to preserve a life. He only took Orpheus's life because every alternative to keep him alive is not viable ( you could argue that he could have been convinced to work with the prince, but the alliance would have been fragile). He is also able to be conviced not with reason, but with morality during the iron throne section. I think it shows hes not purely concerned with survival, buts its always at constant risk that he has to regularly consider it. When youre constantly hunted by gith, and a creature people will kill on sight, its difficult to think of anything beyond your survival

18:14 wrong, on my first playthrough when we first met his true force they force you. i killed him because he force the hybrid transformation on me with a wisdom save i could not make. if you don't have the ring of mind shielding and playing a low wisdom character, you're fucked. i wanted to save Orpheus, give lae-zel a good ending and make gale a god. if he had taken a moment to actually trust us and not just use us, he would still be alive. they were to quick to jump to conclusion.

Only had the game a couple of weeks so only have a few screwed up partial playthroughs so badly done it's better to start anew when I get stuck at a location being repeatedly killed. Got as far as Grymforge on 1st, Moonrise on 2nd, 3rd didn't get far and on the 4th now which is going well, just took out the goblins but haven't really done anything else, at lvl 4. The game itself is fantastic and absolutely a D&D enthusiast must have, just like NWN2 was. My gripe with it however is nothing about the game but about the writing. Dialogue options are terrible, especially in scheduled dialogue with party members, which leans way, way, way too heavily on the let's be LGBTQ+ inclusive theme to the point you get dialogue options with same sex party members consisting of 2 raging homosexual advances worded differently, one ambiguously homosexual advance, a viciously aggressive refute of them as a human being and leave without talking to them. Over and over and over ad nauseum. It's really annoying after you try picking whichever the not interested in this in my game option is and it just keeps repeating every interaction, in a story based game full of party interaction and an influence system, where the options at least for a straight male character is fight the other males, never talk to them or have gay sex with them. So that makes absolutely no sense with the writing and in fact I really need to contact Larian to request they provide a simple selectable option to pull the homosexual advances from PC dialogue if the player isn't and isn't curious about it either, homosexual inclusivity doesn't mean everybody has to be homosexual, it just means nobody's going to send you to prison if you are. Damn retards. A second part that also makes absolutely no sense is the plot devices, one of the biggest is the tadpole absorption plot. Why make it such a centralised theme when firstly it has no stakes at all, other than cosmetic PC changes and secondly it makes absolutely no sense when the primary plot device for PC motivation is removing the one you already have, why would you then put more of them inside your brain? Again, I'm forced to ask, seriously are the writers a bit intellectually retarded? It seems like they are. The plot devices are terrible and the dialogue options are terrible, not just on the everybody who plays has to be a raging homosexual theme but the general dialogue options for everything are ridiculous, with no intelligent, witty, or sensible PC response options anywhere in the game. Like when a Party NPC makes a sexually ambiguous comment you can't make fun of it without the assumption you're either making a homosexual advance or being homophobic, this is the primary theme in all Party dialogue interactions wholesale. No humour responses, no polite refute, just gay, hate or leave. Other NPC interactions, terrible choices again, never the one I'm looking for situation. Otherwise, a fantastic game to update D&D from the now graphically dated NWN2. But the bad/Woke writing I can predict after finally making all the way through on a playthrough I'll probably go back to NWN2, because the dialogue options especially really get annoying, with bad moral choices and zero good ones in most situations that are supposed to be morality plays like Free the Tiefling from Kagha quest, you get like 5 evil choices or leave, agree with the white supremacist anti-immigration elf druidess, two different ways of agreeing with the identity absolves crime black native worshipping woke dude, attack everybody, say screw you all and give me treasure, or leave and that's completely typical of all the dialogue for any moral choices in the game. Meanwhile, as mentioned all the scheduled party dialogue for plot motivation is three homosexual advances, violent homophobia or screw you all I'm leaving, and that's it. It's annoying if you're not infantile or too uneducated to realise this is really stupid writing from some socially autistic human beings with unhealthy socialisation skills.

Im sorry but whenever the emperor haters try their fave gotcha (you should try seeing what happens if you annoy him you dont know nuthin about the emperor) it's just yes, and.....? bc you can reasonably suspect Stelmane was enthralled without getting that scene. You can get a LOT of information by talking to Wyll after learning of Stelmane's fate. An insight check further reveals Wyll questions Stelmane's change due to the incosnsistencies in her behaviour iirc. Correct me if im wrong. But that makes YOU question the stroke thing. And then like immediately after on long rest you can ask the Emperor 'was it more intimate' about his relationship with Stelmane and isn't it sus when he says yes but not in the way you think. Then you can find out from dnd lore that mindflayers do get attached to their thralls. Pieces are coming together oh yeah. You can know without getting the reveal scene so maybe it is simply true that Emperor fans do pay attention! Incredibleee i know 😂 My Tav was similar to the Emperor in the sense that nothing else mattered except defeating the elder brain so they got along fine, even understood each other and felt a connection. It made that playthrough very rich and certainly made me a fan of the Emperor. Set your double standards aside and enjoy another compelling character. Or not....but maybe you're missing out.
