For high AC electric fields, first can you determine the source? Often it's Romex electrical wiring in the walls. Unplug any cords or cables nearby, move the bed 1-2 feet away from the wall, or consider turning off the circuit breaker to the bedroom at night. Agree it's best to measure in exactly the same spot with a meter, but this meter is plugged in to the outlet at the main panel to measure the dirty electricity on the wire, so distance is less of a concern here

Yes, use the figure 8 method when measuring in all areas. Building Biology recommends 10 microwatts per square meter in sleeping areas, which is very low and can be difficult to achieve in an urban/suburban area. Aim to eliminate sources to reduce the readings as much as possible.

Yes, it might be due to the solar inverter or another appliance cycling on. Dirty electricity can often be mitigated with filters.

Not necessarily a small plant like this one, but densely a forested area might reduce RF radiation from a cell tower, for example, more than a home on a ridge with no tree cover.

Great question. We find dirty electricity in 99% of the homes that we measure and it fluctuates throughout the day. In this case, I would continue to take measurements at different times to understand the range of DE and then try a variety of filtering options to reduce it.

You're exactly right. Initially, the filters were installed on circuits 1&2 (same phase, therefore filtering only one leg). An EMF electrician went back and updated it to circuits 1&3 (different phases) but did not update the labels. Good observation.

Good question. In this home the dirty electricity measurements decreased from 1300 GW units to under 100 GW units after installation. Every home is different so it is best to have a certified Building Biology Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist (EMRS) take measurements, determine sources and test if this is the right solution for your home.
