The goal of Logical Leveling isn't just for me to talk about games (though that is fun) but to find like-minded people and have a discussion. Emerald Warden was a work of art.
id do anything to experiance prime hon again me and my brothers and friends used to go to a internet cafe where everyone played it and it was so fun and looked better than all the rest
how do you join a eSport team
Nope It is management decisions that lead to most of the talent that has worked at dice leaving the company.
Uhh.. one thing at 4th minute- someone said Frostbite cannot understand dialogs and cutscenes? IS this dude played battlefield ever? In Battlefield I've one of the most smooth cutscene to gameplay transitions...
I really love game engine, I think they are cool and the fact that they are among most complex software the human can made made me want to try making one too, and put cool name for it :)
to me Hon remains the moba ive enjoyed the most and ive played over 1k games of dota, dota2, lol and many others.
I'm a developer and I really appreciate your understanding and support. You gave me tears, bro
In my experience, It runs terribly bad. I get stutter sí dont get with way better games
"New IP" it was a spinoff of DOTA 2, not new
I mean the frostbite engine could also create the wonderful games like battlefield 1 and tons of other games that I forgot the names of
Thank you. From a young age games have been apart of my life of me and when l saw fortnite world cup that was the 1st l was introduced to esports after that l saw CSGO, league and rainbow six esports. The fact they play against the best of the best really is incredible. l have always had a hunger for the competitive side of Games and beating someone who is better than me has been my primary goal and brings so much joy. The fact that we put in everything to play against each other is amazing. So since this is my last year of school l can finally grind league and l already got out my hardstuck rank. l promised my dad before he passed that l would be on that stage as a joke but the older l get the more my competitive hunger grows. l really want to take a shot at this while l still can. This video is 2 years old but still helps a lot. Today the journey of becoming a league pro begins.
whatever they did to hon. im still playing cause the heroes and the skills are more real than any other moba and i play them all. im not saying that they are not bad, hon graphics is much better
In the old days of EA it was much simpler. Dice uses the Frostbite Engine for Battlefield games, then Crytek engine for Crysis games from Cryteck.
I’m not trying to join but helping my sister Maria she literally a pro she records all her kills they think she’s hacking but she’s not
Sucks ass. Game is just difficult nothing special to it just copy paste unknown of the lord of rings. Dumb as fuck and overhyped.
for me, whoever kills this game is a sinner
My name is William, I'm 16,I'm a Nigerian, I may be the only one who aspires to be an esports player, apparently due to economical issues, my country doesn't involve themselves in Gaming 😢, but I would be using twitch, Thank you very much for the video ❤
Also I play Arena of valor, CODM, and other moba games
You gave no advice on playing Individual game like EA FC, E Football, Madden, NBA2K and other single player games. Good video though.
i like how hon had a sandbox mode where you could spawn stuff, kind of bummed out they removed it in later patches. it was so fun role playing and creating large armies. sigh
I find Heroes of Newerth so interesting since it was kind of IceFrogs first every baby. I think if he had made it in 2024 then it could easily be the best moba. Now we have Deadlock IceFrogs baby he made after all the knowledge he knew from dota and newerth. I hope IceFrogs continues to make games and once he is happy with deadlock after a few years he starts a new game and continues his legacy as he has so many resources and also probably the best game philosophy ever. IceFrog and Miyazaki I would argue really are two masters of game design in the 21st century.
03:04 “there’s no example of pro teams picking mid players” or something like that, there was a league team who took on a silver support 😂
I'm a 17Y.O. who wants to go down the path of esports in lol, my current rank is Plat 4 and highest rank is Dia 3. Do you think I have a chance in doing that? I really have thought about other jobs but I made up my mind on esports lol as nothing else is as much interessing and entertaining is for me. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Madden has 0 hope of actually being good until they retire this engine and hire the guys from 2k to make a good one for them
They should just switch to Unreal Engine 5 and Meta human for the characters for some of their games like EA FC.
:(
i still miss the game , for me it was 1 of the best . RIP
hon was much better than early dota 2 and it wasnt even close. if they didnt literally release early access pay to win heroes it might still exist (outside of private servers)
madden and CFB 25 is trash cause frostbite
I started when i was 14 also but now am 29 years old i dont want to lie being one of the esport player is not something for any one it is very difficult to get there road is indeed not clear there is too much barriers 😢
Moba games are going down becose they era is end. Not only HoN but many others like Heroes of The Storm. Only 2 biggest remeins. People go playing battle royales and hero fps games, extracion shooters. It is what it is, trends are changing.
No wonder some fans are salty
Blake Jorgsen was very open about the companies efforts to move ALL development teams to the frostbite engine. The fact the 1 studio refused it's corporate overlords is a testament to the leadership at that studio. My guess is, respawn was a newer acquisition by EA during the frostbite push, as a result the leadership structure at respawn would not yet resemble EA's awful corporate culture. To say the the EA execs didn't force frostbite, is to say that middle managers don't try to suck up to their bosses, or to say EA is a highly functional corporation.
I miss my dw, pandamonium, devourer, and maliken days. Ding ding ding mf
Fifa17 is a good game and it was the first using frostbite engine with the fifa franchise. It is 1000x better than next iterations... so frostbite may not be the main culprit with EA games being so bad now
+1, totally agree (im esports player and coach for about 12 years), im glad i played with and coached players and teammates and today they are in a pro ladder makes me proud of them and myself. <3
Hey. I want to be an esports player when I graduate from high school, I have yet 2 years until then. Do you think that it's possible for me to do all that in 2 years? My current rank is Plat 4 and highest is Dia 3(S13 split 1).
While developers do care about the game, their bosses often don't and actually just want consumers' money
Developers and bosses are both part of the corruption that the industry is running on
Not releasing HoN as F2P was biggest mistake ever made.
This is beyond true. For as much as people praise indie, mostly for good reason don't get me wrong, but most stories involve small studios almost getting bankrupted if they didn't get a hit, Pal World is a good example since the devs of that game needed to switch engines mid development so the fact that game came out as well as it did IN BETA!!! Is insane, not only that but they still may be under fire from Pokémon over brand confusion. And although no man's sky is a different scenario, when that game released to the public eye hello game's reputation was in the gutter and had warped the studio's intentions when they honestly wanted to make a fun game and their efforts paid off since some people are saying that the game is better the starfield in terms of space exploration, environment etc... Of course, this does not fully pardon the business side of AAA and AA games like you said with fallout 76 and cyberpunk sadly, but I don't think people really understand what they are dealing with either.
greed killed HoN
I am literally watching this because I was wondering how hard it would be to fix bugs in The Last of Us on my own. It's my favorite game of all time, but there are many imperfections here and there.
Thanks for all the good advice, i‘ve been thinking about going pro in val for some time and i‘ve decided that i wanna try it. I am currently top 2% global and i am will start my socials as soon as my finals are finished. When i finally make it to the big stage, i will greet you in an interview.
amazing scripting, thanks brother
Make a new version of HoN please!!!!!!
Dota2 killed Hon 😔
How does this prove that new IPs are too risky? They created a new game based on one of their existing IPs. If anything, this proves that slapping on a familiar product to sell one of lower quality does nothing but dwindle the trust your consumers have.
I've played a number of early access games (e.g. Planet Nomads) And when I give feedback/suggestions for features I try to make my ideas as clear as possible and often include illustrations and references to other games for methods used.
madden player here smh game is awful
HoN just fumbled the launch. It went to being a huge Free 2 Play beta, into like a $40 Buy 2 Play title. A lot of people couldn't afford it, and League of Legends dropped, entirely free 2 play and advertised itself, literally on its website, as "Like Heroes of Newerth but free"
HON was 20 dollars on release. I was there.
