    the thing that worries me on these "double-sided" blades is maintaining it. only takes a moment for the blade to become dull if it runs into the wrong thing and doesn't seem it'd fit into my Oregon sharpener as a traditional blade would. how are u putting a new edge on this when needed?

    We had no choice but to start cutting down a 60ft dead tree in the garden, no professional tree feller wanted to take it on, so got a throw saw, tried tossing it with the supplied weight, useless, so I got the bow and arrow out, so far happy with the results...using the bow and arrow to fire a lightweight string over a branch

      You have to take the chain apart and reassemble it to do something like that.There is a bench top tool that can be bought, or you can do it with a punch and a hammer. It'll be a tedious process either way.

    I have some much lower neighbors branches invading my yard and I'd like to cut the branches down. I'd need a 22' ladder 🪜 minimum unless I can use this method, branches may be 25' high or more, Tampa

    This is what I did today but just wondering if anyone knew any tricks to keep the blade from binding?

    • @BobHerres
      @BobHerres 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To keep the blade from "Binding" as the branch starts to sag... the two pullers must be as far apart as possible, this "wider angle" is also much safer too.

    what prevents it from flopping over in its side instead of cutting on one of the edges ?

    • @turbostyler
      @turbostyler 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The chain itself can't bend in its side. It can only bend vertically.

      @@turbostyler do they make chain that dont have a "cut" and "can't cut" side?

    • @turbostyler
      @turbostyler ปีที่แล้ว

      @@do7hemath937 Yes they do, most decent ones have cutting teeth on both sides of the chain. Be warned, these rope chainsaws are great but sometimes they get pinched by the branch you're cutting and can be a royal pain to get out of the tree. Best to have two people as far apart as possible.

      @@turbostylerAbsolutely. Mine pinch every time I use it and it rattles me cause there's no way to get up there. Using two people 20 or so feet apart seems to be a great idea. Someone suggested tying a ring on to a tree 20 feet away and putting your rope through. That is brilliant. I have found that if I don't pull on the rope too tight, that seems to work. It could be that the teeth dig in too deep when you pull tight and it locks in. Just be patient and gently pull it back and forth. It may take a while longer but it will eventually get the job done. Just dont be in a hurry. That worked well for me tonight after I jammed one 3 or 4 times.
