Blame the ones that you have a chance to move. Ask the Palestinian population how well that works. So yes blaming the other side won't work at all but blaming the better side makes things worse. At this point our only hope is that the other side gets as much of authoritarian leaders as they want and finally realize they are hurting themselves at some point before it is too late to go back. A few days ago Nomiki Konst uploaded an archived video of part of an investigation conducted within the DNC after Clinton's loss in 2016. In the video, Konst, who was one of the individuals conducting the investigation, rails against the huge expenditures that were made. She pointed out how millions intended for down ballot races were instead funneled up to the national campaign and blown on five huge media consulting firms who benefitted regardless of the outcome of the race. Now we know that the Biden and Harris campaigns spent upwards of $280 million (as of mid-October) on work by Media Buying & Analytics LLC, a front company for Canal Partners Media Firm. The latter routinely does PR work for the very entities the Democratic party is supposed to be fighting against for us, such as large corporations, big pharma, etc. In fact, in 2022, Canal Partners worked for Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (fronting for Rare Access Action Project) to OPPOSE Biden's policy of allowing Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices. There is no way they could advise the campaign on populist messaging without conflicting with the interests of their other clients. Guess who won out. Another client of theirs is Uber. Uber's chief legal strategist is Kamala Harris' brother-in-law, Tony West, who urged Harris to stop talking about corporate price-gouging and housing issues and instead play up how corporate CEO's were endorsing her and to promote her endorsement by the Cheney's. Gambit Strategies was paid over $122 million (as of mid-October) for their ad work. Their portfolio includes advising the 2016 Clinton campaign into its loss. Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI) was paid over $101 million (as of mid-October) and has worked for Democratic campaigns for years. The firm also has multiple partners including Kim Axelrod, Boeing spokesperson Bradley Ahubuiro, and an individual named Danny Franklin who has done work benefiting McDonald's, JP Morgan Chase, Blackstone, General Mills, and others. These are all companies who would stand to lose if true Progressive ideas were ever brought to fruition. BPI was also paid $760,000 in 2018 to kill efforts at developing a universal healthcare system. And don't forget the Progressive ban in place - any company that worked for Progressive candidates in their efforts to unseat Democratic incumbents are permanently barred from doing business with the DNC and its authorized candidates, so in effect the only companies that can work for the party are the same companies that also work for the corporatocracy. The party will keep losing harder, WE will keep losing, but the corporations and media strategists will come out on top. I’m very supportive of Democrats. I was behind them throughout the election and remain proud of Harris/Walz now. I simply think this loss, and our impending move to American authoritarianism is being managed poorly, and I’d like to see leadership adjust. One of the best things about not being republican/far-right/MAGA is that we don’t have to just have to pretend everything is good. Self reflection isn’t self-destruction. Lessons can be learned.
