No pictures of Peter Cetera singing live. (He's only shown in group shots) Is that because he left the group? I don't think it's fair to Peter. I don't mind photos of Terry but his pictures dominate the video.

Can we all just agree that THIS PARTICULAR CHICAGO LINEUP was PERFECTION, and stop picking the individuals apart at the seams? NOBODY is perfect. They did what they DID. Stop CROWNING Terry Kath as the KING, the LEADER. Collectively, they were ALL PRICELESS. There will NEVER be another band as great as THIS BAND !

This version is much slower than I've heard it since it was released. So different. But still top tier!!! Gosh this band was one of a kind . So glad i got to experience it from the onset.

It's a superb performance all around. It's posted as "Purple," when it's Purples, which I've always seen as a very deep shade of BLUE with a bit of red. Like aquamarine. It's about a guy who's very disappointed about losing his woman and being stuck in a city, LA, that didn't give a shit about anyone. I don't believe it had much, if anything, to do with Owsley's purple acid. Some people have also claimed that another Robert Lamm song, "25 or 6 to 4," is a reference to lsd 25, when he's stated time and time again that it's not. Just listen to the lyrics. 25 or 6 to 4 sounds catchier than 3:35 or 6 to 4.😅 Robert wrote two of the best songs to showcase Terry's impressive skills as a rock/blues guitarist. Lots of spotlighted solo space for him. This song and 25 or 6 to 4, but Terry brought a lot of different influences to the table throughout his years with Chicago.

I think Terry was playing a low impedance Les Paul on all the Carnegie dates. One of my favorite guitars. The local music store in my town (Patchogue on Long Island) had one in a glass case and I salivated over it for years. Memories!

Guitar Player mag lists Terry Kath's solo on "25 or 6 to 4" in the top 10 of all time (#9), but I always thought this cut was better. Chicago lost so much when they lost Kath.

Terry is a great player, and since Chicago has very jazzy elements to them they should have worked with King Crimson.

While Kath's performance was ok, overall this sucked in comparison to Tanglewood. Cetera almost sounds like he can't be bothered to open his mouth.
