Clearly an exceptionally talented pianist to be able to play like that. I just wish there was a video of him playing it properly as, if the intro was anything to go by, it would sound amazing.
Even as a young kid I was sick of the 'fat Northern comedians" schtick,,,, Roy Brown,,, Bernard Manning,, hell,, even Peter Kay (Though a genius producer, director and actor),,, but Les Dawson,,,, never bent a knee to anyone,, and always made me laugh. I really don't care about anything else.
Les Dawson reminds me of Tommy Cooper. They were both actually very talented, but played at being incompetent: Tommy Cooper was a skilled magician behind the scenes, and dear old Les was a great pianist.
So funny!!😂
He'd have to be so good To be able to play it so bad ...love it😅
Loved him, growing up ! Classic
Raindrops on noses.....
Absolute genius. The left hand is completely correct but he veers off key with the right hand. I’ve got grade VIII piano but I can’t do this!

That's enough for the money I'm getting! 😂😂😂
Les did musically what Tommy Cooper did with magic

Thanks Bill Hilton, for bringing me here !
He just cracks me up when it starts going out've tune, comic brilliance. RIP.
Bringing back memories very missed wish he was still alive I live in the town where he lived,
Great man. It takes skill to play the piano. It takes genius to play like that.
totally agree, absolute genius
Bushcraft Boy totally agree it’s harder for a true pianist, to play the wrong cords then right ones. # les dawnson # absolute legend
What was the second song Les played?
+devwreck127 'My Favourite Things' by Rodgers and Hammerstein
+Alex Metcalfe Thank you very much! I love how he plays it and was going to try to learn it by ear.

Les played like sheet. On purpose though.

Love him, one of the true greats :( miss him still.
Brilliant. Always makes me howl watching this guy play piano. You've got to be good to play this bad!

It takes real skill to consistently play the wrong nots but still hold a semblance of the tune.

Funniest part of the Entertainer is the bit between 0:45 and 0:50 - So amusingly out of tune!
