Les Dawson reminds me of Tommy Cooper. They were both actually very talented, but played at being incompetent: Tommy Cooper was a skilled magician behind the scenes, and dear old Les was a great pianist.
Clearly an exceptionally talented pianist to be able to play like that. I just wish there was a video of him playing it properly as, if the intro was anything to go by, it would sound amazing.
Even as a young kid I was sick of the 'fat Northern comedians" schtick,,,, Roy Brown,,, Bernard Manning,, hell,, even Peter Kay (Though a genius producer, director and actor),,, but Les Dawson,,,, never bent a knee to anyone,, and always made me laugh. I really don't care about anything else.

Absolute genius. The left hand is completely correct but he veers off key with the right hand. I’ve got grade VIII piano but I can’t do this!
