    • @sprinterfix
      @sprinterfix หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm. I just checked all my links and they show 80.5 and the last one 80.2. there is some rounding error if you convert the millimeters to inches. Am I understanding your question correctly?

    • @sprinterfix
      @sprinterfix หลายเดือนก่อน

      Upon looking further I see the confusion. Yes so oreillys measures belts to nearest inch. so 80.1 gets rounded to 80 inches. while 80.5 gets rounded to 81 inches. the fraction at the end is deceptive as it should read 1/16 indicating the thickness not the length or width of the belt. however the first one has a typo which reads 11/16. which is an error on their website.

    I have removed steering lock pin and am using the emulator. Can I go like this from now 9n? I don't need or want the steering lock anyway. Thank you

    • @sprinterfix
      @sprinterfix หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ideal scenario is that your steering lock is working intermittently. In which case I would suggest turning vehicle on with steering lock plugged in and then unplugging it after it unlocks. then keep unplugged and use emulator from then on. That way steering stays unplugged indefinitely and you don't have to cut it off right away. Long term there may be an argument for cutting steering lock off as there are unsubstantiated reports of it spontaneously locking up while driving which is not ideal. If you are experiencing a bad steering lock and don't have an emulator yet consider light taps with a hammer while jiggling steering wheel and inserting key repeatedly

    The PCV delete/bypass (using a simple breather port like that) will fail an emissions test if you're in a region where that's relevant and the tester notices the modification, but otherwise this will work fine. So obviously for off-road or otherwise not road legal vehicles this would be a no brainer. An actual design solution that would avoid this and maintain PCV function would've been to connect the crankcase breather downstream of the turbo's compressor outlet, so between the turbo and the intake manifold. You'd reduce turbo efficiency just slightly and likely increase crankcase pressure somewhat as well (due to turbo-compressed air pushing back against the flow through the PCV tube), but that should be such a minor issue as to be ignored in most cases, especially compared to what they actually did. The only case you couldn't use that solution would be in a gasoline engine using a carburetor or single point fuel injection upstream of the turbo (or supercharger) in a draw-through configuration as you'd have fuel vapor + droplets in the compressed charge in that case which would thus contaminate the crankcase and oil. (but that's a nonexistent problem for modern commercial engines ... I suppose water injection upstream of the compressor intake would create a similar problem, with water vapor/droplets being pushed back into the crankcase, but also not a common feature)

      Sorry I took so long to respond. There are a few things to unpack here, likely want to use a smoke machine to see if your turbo system has any leaks. Some oil going through the turbo is normal. before doing the breather tube consider a catch can. Also you can test to ensure it is oil coming from pvc vs oil coming from leaky turbo by removing the pipe going between turbo and turbo resonator. Also remove pcv and block off or leave unplugged for this test. make sure no dirt can get sucked into the turbo. run the engine and see if oil is beading through the turbo outlet ( the part that sends the compressed air to the resonator).

    Hi I have a 2004 sprinter, it won’t crank, dash lights on, no starter error, I have swap with a working sprinter ECM skreem and key, TCM, fuse box. Nothing seems to work. If I run a ground to the starter relay it cranks, any ideas or videos that would help? Thanks

      I am real sorry to hear that. Can I confirm there are no codes on either the tcm, immobilizer module, or ecu? That is a tough one, perhaps remove cap from starter relay and pinch the inside to see if it cranks. maybe also check the fuses for tcm. located on side of driver seat. If I remember correctly the circuit I discuss in this video can be deactivated with a fuse.

      @@sprinterfix yes I did, and I swap the gear selector shifter. I can see on the MaxiAP200 on live data the gear I’m on. Cleaned all the ground points, I took the starter switch out measured voltage and continuity, everything seems good

    Thank you for your alternative option; I found @MrBobVids on your posting and it worked the best for me, but without your posting I would not have found this other option!

    As a mechanic for 15 years at an independent workshop i can tell you Mercedes HATE anything but the OEM sensor. Other than that most cars will "accept" it BUT will use more fuel. If you don't buy OEM try to find the supplier for OEM sensors and those work just the same but cheaper. And on some cars, especially Mercedes you must use a computer to reset the self adaption when changing or cleaning it. There are several service bulletins on this.

    • @sprinterfix
      @sprinterfix 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well said, the problem is with these you get a mercedes part number on the outside and the bosch part number can only be seen when you cut the sensor out, not like the old style where the sensor is held into the housing with screws. so mercedes makes it difficult to source from bosch directly. In this I am not sure if we can say this sensor with cause it to run rich although with many fake sensors I am certain this happens.

    Why is the S in Bosch backwards on your original hot thin film MAF sensor?

    • @sprinterfix
      @sprinterfix 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is an amazing observation, I can assure you it is spelled correctly on the sensor, the combination of it being upsidedown and camera inversed caused it to look normal, so its back to front and upside down, a cool camera effect I suppose, All the letters look fine upsidedown except for S

      Damn dude your the first to I believe to address it this way I was just on eBay checking one out for my 2008 Saturn Aura I bought one over a year ago and just recently started getting a P0171 and P0172 codes at the same time and it couldn’t be anything but that damn cheap MAF sensor and according to a mechanic website this means it’s typically from a bad sensor causing both codes at the same time man thanks again a lot I will definitely go with OEM Bosch or AC Delco instead

      @rosieclark3661 I am glad this helped the situation. It is very interesting how a lot of other european cars seam to use exactly the same sensor, I am 90 percent sure I could make one from an audi or bmw work with a sprinter van

    Couldn't find the right filter for my 2003 until I watched a video of someone with a 2005 Sprinter doing a filter change. So, yes, absolutely take a good picture of your filter and a picture, and match it up that way. Thanks for this video!
