My van won't start. Code shows no communication to the TCM. Also the P on the dash is missing as well as the indicator light on the shifter column doesn't illuminate. It will not come out of park unless you push the release button below the shifter. I decided to see if it would start after sitting for a month and the van started. I drove around for 30 minutes then let the van idle for 30 minutes. Shut it down and then would not restart again.
sounds like an electrical issue. I'd start with TCM and EWM/EGS fuses five and seven on the side of the driver's seat, then remove seat and inspect tcm for transmission oil seeping up through the wires, May I ask what year your van is? Please don't hesitate to follow up. If you don't see any noticeable issue we can talk more.... also confirm power is going to tcm module, do you have a multimeter?
@@sprinterfix yes the two fuses are good. There is power to the TCM. I actually pulled the TCM apart. There is no fluid or debris in the housing. Van is a 2013.
2013? Interesting. Did u get a new ecu after your recall? Can u give symptoms when no start? Can turn key? Ignition on? Can read codes? I have a few suggestions based off of symptoms. Also is Tcm code active/current or just a stored code?
@SprinterFix I did not get a new ECU. That I am aware of. Key will turn, dash lights all come on. The codes that came up on the scanner were P121A00 and C103.
Hmm. Might need a different scanner. Codes for true lost comm with Tcm would be u0101 in generic and 2211 with vin specific code reader. If it really is a Tcm issue consider putting some penetrating fluid in connector and working in and out a dozen times. That’s helped me more times then I can remember. But I don’t think that’s your issue
Hi I have a 2004 sprinter, it won’t crank, dash lights on, no starter error, I have swap with a working sprinter ECM skreem and key, TCM, fuse box. Nothing seems to work. If I run a ground to the starter relay it cranks, any ideas or videos that would help? Thanks
I am real sorry to hear that. Can I confirm there are no codes on either the tcm, immobilizer module, or ecu? That is a tough one, perhaps remove cap from starter relay and pinch the inside to see if it cranks. maybe also check the fuses for tcm. located on side of driver seat. If I remember correctly the circuit I discuss in this video can be deactivated with a fuse.
@@arturoperez6176 check rail pressure and cam/crank syncronization first. should be able to do both of those things with your tool. let me know what you find
@@sprinterfix yes I did, and I swap the gear selector shifter. I can see on the MaxiAP200 on live data the gear I’m on. Cleaned all the ground points, I took the starter switch out measured voltage and continuity, everything seems good

@@sprinterfix I only have the MaxiAP200 to read the codes. I did check all the fuses everything is good.
@@arturoperez6176 might be worth trying to start it in neutral. I assume ignition turns on normally?
