I think that computer science is obviously very useful if you are planning to study CS at Cambridge but not required as some schools may not offer it. Additionally the admissions process is centred mostly around your mathematical and logical thinking skills so not doing computing A level would not necessarily give you a better advantage. However doing computing does make you more well prepared for 1st year uni as those who didn’t take computing would have to learn everything from scratch.
