Very nice rig 👌
@@sandytrackxfishing2810 thanks mate appreciate your comment
Great build about to buy a Colorado myself
@@Jm-en7zs thanks mate, right has changed quite a bit since then. I really should do a new rig rundown to show what it is like now.
Love it team - thanks - very useful video for trip planning. A lot of info out there makes it sound like a hardcore track that’s 100% no-go for solo vehicles. But the river crossings/quicksand didn’t seem to bother you guys?
Nasal decongestant for that woman please
Great video, have you ever replaced the clutch and at how many kms? Cheers
Hey mate, thanks for the feedback, clutch was replaced at around 105K with Heavy Duty 4WD clutch with single mass flywheel, is does vibrate a bit now which can get annoying but after doing a couple of dual mass fly wheels it was the only choice
@@LowRange4X4Adventures Yep, how many’s Kilometres do you recon u will get out of it?
Done 50k on it so far still going strong touch wood hahaha
It's a Holden end of story 😅😅😅😅
Guys you have made my day, I was thinking my Colorado wasnt up to this kind of thing.. had to get something new etc.. not anymore.. I literally feel less depressed
Yeah it is a great rig, has had a big make over last year and now has full touring canopy and rooftop tent etc, still very capable and hope to be doing some more touring and 4wding again this year
Nice here i was thinking my Collo wasnt up to it... keeping it now, Can we ask did the 17" rims need to be offset to miss the chassis when turning with those tyres on? or did the chassis end bit behind the front wheel need to be cut?
Thanks for your feedback mate the body mounts were professionally modified as the tyres did just rub on full lock
My rusted Jeep patriot with 200k miles is better (I'm not lying to myself) :)
Hey Jeeps are great hahaha
Thank you both for the professional review. (I'm an X-Army Medic from many moons ago) I'm soon to set out on a 1-month long Motorcycle camping adventure. I simply don't have the space to take the full rescue swag with me, but I will most certainly be at least taking the small "Rescue Explorer" kit with me, which is not ideal, but far better than nothing at all. The kit will be strapped to the collision bars near the front forks on my bike. I will hopefully at least be able to add the emergency bandage to the "explorer kit." I would like to add some "off the shelf" pain killer tablets to the kit also. Can you advise me on what would be a good pain killer that isn't going to be made totally useless, due to a very warm temperature storage environment? I don't have any allergic issues. Finally thank you to both, and all our emergency responders every day! Especially during the dark days of the initial Covid pandemic. 👍
Thanks for the feedback
Looking forward to having a crack at that track in November
Any error codes? Just found your channel
Hi Peter, no mate no error codes however I did have a conversation with the guys at Psico before I pulled the trigger on the new air box, all I can say is it has been fabulous, I would love to couple it with a Psico snorkel as well to complete the package. I do know that there was some issues with error codes on some early model Colorados but he has a solution to fix that as well
Hey David what phone mount is that on the right side of your dash? It looks slick. I've got a 2015 Collie as well and struggling to find one that would fit.
Hey mate it is the quad lock case windscreen mount but I used the plate they supply and stuck it to the dash and worked great also have the wireless charger attachment for it as well
I have been there
G'day mate l like to know after you remapped your rig, did you notice the difference in fuel acconomie, was there a improvement or used more fuel?
Hey mate, definite improvement in economy in the order of 3 or more l/100km, it had heaps more power and used a lot less fuel doing the same trip after the remap
Thanks for replying hope you are having a great time, would also like to know for you are towing did you do mods on your vechile such as, upgrading the cooling system, place trans cooler in, catch can or a by pass Diesel filter. Like to know what you have done have the same model and year of vechile. Enjoy your trip all the best, safe journeys
@@johnodonnell1513 hey mate haven’t done too many other upgrade now teams cooler as not auto, cooling never changes even when towing , and don’t really believe in catch cans!
It was a great trip, my wife and I were on the same cruise. Does that make us famous now that we made the cut on your video? 😎 We loved Tassie, especially the wild parts. A must see is the Museum in Hobart if you haven’t already, it’s a real eye opener. Cheers for the vid, keep up the good work. 🙂
Thanks for the video David, very informative. Q: How well is the sealing against dust ingress between the top of the tail gate and the canopy lid? I've have a 2019 D-Max with canopy. Thanks
The canopy seals well around the straps no issues with increased dust
What is the long grey thing attached to your hitch? Great video.
That is a stone stomper, it is used to stop stones from damaging the front of the camper when traveling. Check them out at stonestomper.com.au
just installed one in my 2016 Colorado, loving it
Good vid ! Cheers
Thanks glad you enjoyed it, if you are purchasing for your own vehicle don't forget to tell them you saw the video!
Ok will do, will purchase in the next few days! Cheers
Can this be used as proof that the world is a sphere?
Any feedback from your son and daughter about the workplace swag? Thankyou for the video :)
We still carry them on all adventures, fortunately haven't had to use one yet
Great video
Thanks it was a hell of a day!
Not sure about the mesh material as I imagine everything would get nasty on a muddy track or wet day. How do you find this?
Mesh is fine does get a bit dusty but any rubbish bag on the back would.
What does this do exactly? Sorry no idea about engines
it is an aftermarket airbox to house the air filter for the engine
Great vid. Well driven too. I'm thinking about tackling this track next week. What size tyre were you running?
Hey mate thanks for your comment, was running 285/70/17 with 1” body lift and 2” suspension
Hoping to go to Tassie this winter in my Jimny, & stumbled across this Channel. I've watched a couple of videos but think I should start at the first one, seeing as the first two I watched were pretty good.
Thanks for your lovely comment, you will enjoy Tassie it is an incredible place, have fun and enjoy the hectic tracks on the west coast.
Not much low range in that part of the world mate. All overrated and hyped. That’s why not many there. Some good stuff at Zeehan, but you’re not going to do Cumberland Trk in that car.
We did a lot of great tracks in Tassie, but chose to preserve the car over trying to be over zealous and damage it as it is our only transport.
Hey guys, great video. Did you check your intake hose from the airbox at the base where it goes to the turbo. These tend to crack quite often as I just discovered on mine. Waiting on a stainless aftermarket one to arrive and never have the problem again.
Thanks for the tip! We actually had them replaced a while ago as they were cracked and debris got into the intake side of the turbo and damaged the fins. All sorted now and I keep a good eye on it, do you have a link to the stainless replacement?
Really well done - appreciated! Cheers & Happy Australia Day
Thanks for that, the Rescue Swag is an industry leader in design and a very useful design.
1st aid kits designed for rural and remote use should prioritize equipment which is truly life saving and yet not expensive. The cost versus reward of a tourniquet is outstanding and should be standard issue given target user and the kits form factor.
Great area & tracks. Where did you find the information? Can not find details on either of the tracks you drove on internet, google maps or Exploroz.
There is a book called Cloncurry trails all the info is in that and it is amazing. We picked it up from the Mitre 10 store in Cloncurry I believe it is available at the museums as well
www.booktopia.com.au/cloncurry-trails-gary-baker/book/9780646491530.html
@@LowRange4X4Adventures Many thanks!
great videos, good explanation of areas and tracks, will spend next couple of hours watching ur videos, especailly the Tassie ones, yous doing good job, keep it up
Awesome, thank you!
Hi, At 9:08 a book can be seen reflected in your windscreen - it looks like it's title is Cloncurry - I know it's been a while but can you tell me what it is & where to get it? Thanks PS informative videos, keep up the good work & enjoy your travels.
HI guys, it is called Cloncurry Trails and is available in the local stores we got ours from the Mitre 10 store in Cloncurry. Thanks for the kind words it is much appreciated.
Sensational footage - what an experience!
Yeah this was an incredible experience, if you get a chance it is a real bucket list item.
Rescue Swag is now available from the Royal Flying Doctor Service Queensland division
Hi there mate, is that pool at the start in the motel where you stayed? We love Charters towers and never been out to these spots so new knowledge is always good. Everything we travell there we discover new things. Thanks.
Yeah mate we stayed there for a coupe of weeks till our other accommodation was ready for us to use. There are heaps of other great spots around there as well we didn’t get to them all but we dis get to that no one is allowed to go but had access via the owners
@@LowRange4X4Adventures thanks for the reply, can you remember the name of the motel as we have friends that owned a motel up there and that looked like their pool. Was it the Charters towers motel by any chance? If you get back that way check out Flat rock, very nice spot. Cheers.
Did you need to cut any body mounts for your tyres and do you get much rubbing?
Hey Daniel, we did the standard front body mount mod to stop the wheels rubbing when turning, we also have a 1" Munji body lift which helps as well. We rarely get any rubbing at all, about the only time is when out on the tracks and on serious angles but it used to rub when doing that even before the bigger tyres.
Interesting tour again, so much to do, Enjoyed episode Cheers Bevan 🤠🦘🇦🇺
Thanks Bevan
Nice video, thanks for sharing. Do you remember what temperature your transmission fluid got up to going up the Sildling on your way to Scottsdale? I have the same Colarado but no transmission cooler
Hey mate, as I think I said before we don't have an automatic Colorado so therefore we don't have issues with trans fluid getting hot. Good luck with your travels, when do you get here? The Sideling range is currently closed I believe and will be for some time.
Beautiful spots. A great alternative to drive. Thanks
We agree!
We really enjoyed this one - never got to that part of Tazzie but remember the typical vegetation and rocks along the shore in other places.
Thanks Marg, the East coast is amazing we really enjoyed that area
what's with rg Colorado air boxes cracking lol im gonna get one of these airboxes
Yeah we had 3 fail before we gave up what year model do you have?
Jeanette you’re a legend! I bought a snorkel for my ‘13 many years ago but hadn’t had the apricots to carve into my front guard but now I just want to finish it and yes I’ve had to replace the OE airbox and also lost confidence with it so like you I searched and decided on a Psico fabricated airbox too. It was delivered today so I scrolled through TH-cam and came across your video. Nice work guys. I may still be toey about the guard but I reckon I’ve got the airbox down pat. Nice to see another RGs hacking out there. Cheers
It’s such a pleasure watching your videos ☺️i always look forward to the next.
Thanks very much we are so glad that you are enjoying our content 🥰
Great video and handy work! Given me some ideas!
Glad I could help!
Kandungan video sangat baik, tahniah
Terima kasih sangat menghargai komen anda, gembira anda menikmati video!!!! and now the English version - Thanks very much appreciate your comment, glad you enjoyed the video!!!!
Where did you camp with the possums on the Tasman Peninsula? We can’t wait to explore in January.
That was the Port Arthur caravan park, one of the best van parks we have ever stayed at. Amenities were great sites a really spread out so you feel like your bush camping and the price was around $30 for powered with water.
@@LowRange4X4Adventures Thanks Will have to see if they will have availability. Looked beautiful.
Nice video, thanks for sharing. What temps are you seeing your transmission fluid getting up to with the intercooler?
Hi mate, we have a manual truck not an auto, the intercooler is for the air intake for the engine not for cooling the transmission.
Thanks guys, wonderful trip and you gave me a reason to go in a group, breakdowns do happen 😉
It was a great track, we obviously did it when it was quite dry, I was tempted to go back and do it again in winter when it’s wet but I just don’t love mud that much 🤣
Great to watch as we'll be going there in Feb 2023.
You’ll have a ball, there are sand dunes all the way down that beach that you can play on but as we were down there by ourselves we didn’t play around too much.
Brilliant Photography! Great plug for the Area! Was there in 2005! Excellent memories; especially the Steam Train up from Strahan to Queenstown!
Thanks for that, we really appreciate the getting encouraging comments from people whom we are bringing memories back for.
