Tensegrity 3-D Space Frame Animation
มุมมอง 10K13 ปีที่แล้ว
The animation begins with a Platonic octahedron that quickly transforms into a weave-octahedron cell which transforms into twelve-strut tensegrity structure. (kennethsnelson.net/category/tensegrity/) Weave filaments fly in to build an extended three-dimensional woven space frame. The animation is accompanied by Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers.

Tensegrity to Weaving Transformation
มุมมอง 11K15 ปีที่แล้ว
In 1960 while trying to develop an extendable planar structure I discovered a tension and compression form similar to woven fabric. It is composed of struts that follow a zigzag course, the rigid parts held firmly in place by tension wires. This animation shows the transformation of the woven cloth into a steel structure and back again. animation by Ken Snelson and Jon Monaghan music by Ryoji I...

Leonardo Da Vinci Atom Model
มุมมอง 63K16 ปีที่แล้ว
This Leonardo atom is a fragment of my multimedia artwork "Portrait of an Atom". (www.kennethsnelson.net) I have imagined how the great artist/scientist Leonardo might have solved the puzzle of the atom's architecture with gears of wood. It's an imagined bit of lost history. I modeled the original wood/gear image in 1990 using Wavefront software. It is updated here and greatly improved by my co...

This beautiful revolutionary video shows us how energy in the form of light or sound can penetrate an atom and directly affect its shape. So, sound, shape (geometry) and color are not separate concepts, but consequences of each other. Everything is just energy.

Hi, I am a Architectural student and I am creating a temporary structure, which is a knitted double skin membrane with a tensegrity supporting structure. I trying to make create a similar animation of my work, but I am not sure how to go about it, would be possible to get a contact from one of you so I could perhaps ask some questions. My email is megan.sadler@my.westminster.ac.uk, Would be very helpful. Thank you.

@NebunLaCap You cannot just have Science, for If religious beliefs and opinions are found contrary to the standards of science, they are mere superstitions and imaginations; for the antithesis of knowledge is ignorance, and the child of ignorance is superstition. Unquestionably there must be agreement between true religion and science. If a question be found contrary to reason, faith and belief in it are impossible, and there is no outcome but wavering and vacillation.

  • @JamalCorrie
