There are some great options for small secluded spots that are hard to access with equipment for planting fall food plots for deer. Deer hunting over a food plot that you've established and cultivated the spot over time can be very rewarding and the right seed for food plots can offer nearly year round forage for whitetail deer and turkey. Alabama Turkey Hunting with Eddie Salter The Turkey Man
I've given up. I've tried for 3 years. Every daggum time it sounds like new years eve😡😡😡😡😡😡
Dont give up on it - often times its just a lil before turkey season where folks start trying to work a call, then they get reminded of just how it went the prior season. Think of it like picking up a guitar, if you waited till March 20th every year to pick it up and get ready for a open-mic night gig on April 1st, you'd most likely be setting yourself up for failure on your big debut. Decide how bad you want to learn it and then just commit a lil time to it daily/weekly. And here's the hack - Practice in your truck during your commutes, You'll be surprised how you just start making sounds that sound kinda turkey all of a sudden.
That’s a good one
Nice work!
Appreciate it!
Awesome!
Good work
Appreciate it!
She’s a natural
For sure
Good job!
Appreciate it!
I have the same setup, it's a great lightweight turkey gun! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos with this setup! Where did you find your aftermarket charging handle?
Grumpy Duck - saw one online and had to have it.
@callemorcrawlem thank you Sir! Looking forward to seeing more of this! I'm debating myself on whether to use an IC .555, .562, or .570 this season
Don’t set it down you may lose it in the woods!!
Yeah it's got a nice camo job
Is it heavy
No its fairly light
That’s was to funny! Who do you know that does that???
🤣🤣🤣
that seems like it would be a very effective call. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it, hope you get out and try it this season!
good information
Thanks glad it was helpful
Why does it have to be made in China
Alot of out stuff is imported these days that's for sure.
Seasons so far away😩
Be here and gone before we know it. What state are you in?
@@callemorcrawlemIndiana I do some volunteer stuff in Kentucky at licking river for there youth hunt too
What choke are u using
IC 562
So what do I do this makes no sense
Really, with a shot gun?
Absolutely - these modern loads with TSS are incredible. Pricey but incredible!
I felt like I was right there! 👍😀
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you get out and have some fun! Let's sync up on one this spring
Bought one last year after the season was over for my 940 pro turkey wish they would have had this color out when before I bought it. Would have looked great on my gun. we will see how they hold up in extreme condition
I'm looking forward to putting them to the test for sure
@@callemorcrawlemgood luck this season. I dont run a page but maybe I need to start me a review page on my turkey gear 😂
Part of the fun of turkey season is buying a bunch of stuff I think lol
Getting me excited all over again!
Wont be long - Lets get on em this year!
Awesome video. Thanks for the tips.
You bet - Let me know if you there is anything you're struggling with and Ill see if I can help. Good Luck
That was super vocal bird!!!!😳
Yes Sir! Ready to hear that again here in a couple months!
Great production buddy. Speaking for myself, always more wisdom to pick up from the misses than the hits.
Thanks! 100% Adversity is always our biggest teacher. It takes that heartbreak to remember what not to do in the future.
Awesome video. I remember those also. Great to see em again
Glad you enjoyed it! Nothing like getting after them birds.
Why does it tickle so bad 😂
LOL - You may just have it a bit too far forward, try move it back just a touch and see if that helps. At the end of the day, its part of getting used to it too.
She did a great Job!
Thanks! She's a keeper!
Do you have the link to your site on how to make a wing like that?

I'm out here in the Desert I know I can call quail with these if I learn it good. Thanks bawss
Good luck - Just keep at it!
Great informative video. 💪🏻💪🏻
Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck!
was this private land?
Yeah
How long will a reed last and should carry two or three different calls with you in the woods?
There are alot of variables here and opinions. Ive had calls thay lasted a few seasons amd some that seem to blow out by the end of a spring. Reed thickness plays a big part and how you maintain them. I used to think keeping them damp helped but believe drying calls last longer. Just my two cents
Wow! Beautiful color, nice long spurs too. Beautiful bird. Glad y'all were able to bag it! Nice patience
Thanks jack! Won't be long now
That is the best sound in the woods in my opinion, when they gobble that close it’s bone chilling
For sure
Dang thats a nice bird. She did an amazing job sitting still and being patient. Just like her daddy taught her! Great to see! 🇺🇲🦃👍
For sure. Glad I was able to capture this memory with her. One of my best days ever!
We want in on the next pattern test!
It wont be long! Me and some buddies are starting to plan some shoots.
@ get us in on it!
Why can’t I find this on any website?!
NWTF edition - likely limited runs but you'll find one if you keep your eye peel long enough Im sure. Good Luck.
Brilliant
Glad you enjoyed it.
This video is amazing. Honestly included tips I found in hours and hours of footage, condensed down to this, plus some new stuff! One piece of advice he said that many new hunters (myself included) will overlook, is knowing the terrain and if you can cross it. I underestimated that and spent my majority of first hunt fighting thru thick brush, just to find a cleared path was available a little further away to get to same river I was headed to. Live and learn! Sometimes experience is the best teacher. Learn from others (like me) mistakes. And take his advice to heart. Will save you time and energy that could have been better spent getting turkeys. Good luck everyone, and even if you get nothing, being in nature, hiking with a shotgun or bow and trying to call in birds is a darn good time. The thrill of the hunt, and beauty of nature are real!
I'm glad the video helped - good luck this season!
I'd read to bring cutting shears, and do, I was more simple minded and just used it to make sure shooting lane was clear, using the trimmed cuts as a make shift blind is genius. Definitely borrowing that technique! Thanks for sharing. Love the short and straight to the point tips like this! Also enjoy the long form hunts, and more detailed advice. Thanks for all you do for the 🦃 hunting community!
Thanks - glad the tips helped and I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! Good Luck this spring!
My first slate was primos ol betsy, simple cheap slate, but the way its designed you can hold it different ways or rest it on leg and get many different tones from the same striker. I like it for the price. Gets the turkeys talking back, and i'm just a rookie.
Primos calls have always been near and dear to me. I grew up in Mississippi and have used many of their products for decades. They are all great people too if you ever get to meet any of that team. Good luck out there and let me know if I can help with anything.
Glad to hear! Hope to meet them some day. Been enjoying you and lots of others content here on youtube for turkey hunting. Passed on my first bird a called in a short beard jake. And found some hen flocks i left alone. Holding out for a long bearded gobbler for my first turkey! Happy hunting@@callemorcrawlem
Love seeing The older guys still doing it. Its tough as a young buck. At his age is remarkable. Not enough older turkey hunters still doing it. Gotta pass the traditions on 🙏
Hes a turkey hunting hero for sure. Fun guy to hunt with too!
This is one of the best tutorial videos I’ve seen so far. This is a must. FYI, I have no ties to this gentleman nor am getting anything in turn for promoting this video. Excellent job explaining and tutoring sir.

Man I tried to get some sense off this mouth call for the last 4 years.... You are the first one who explain it and I started to make sounds.... Woww.. Thank you🙏
Awesome! These are among my favorite comments to receive!
I just figured it out, thanks. Two things happened immediately, my wife said "What was that??" from the living room, and all of my dogs are in my office.
That's hilarious! Good luck getting after them
Sounds awesome
Thank you sir!
thats a fat turkey lol
Big Mid Western Cornfed Gobbler
I picked up that exact gun today, and want to run TSS in one barrel and buffered lead in the other, but the internet seems divided on wether tss is a no go for fixed chokes, or that #9 tss is too small to cause bridging or damage. As someone who has actually fired TSS through your fixed choke, have you noticed anything out of the ordinary?
I patterns quite well and have zero issues only that the tight patterns tell on the POA. This gun shoots low and right and with little sight options makes it kinda one of those things that you just have to compensate for. My gun has run the TSS just fine, it does pack a punch though.
@@callemorcrawlemmine shoots low left, I fixed that by putting a beartooth products comb raising kit on it. I needed the 3/8” spacer. Raising the comb not only brought the point of impact up but it also fixed the windage, because I didnt have to scrunch down on the stock funny to get a sight picture.
Awesome bird!
Thanks!
